You can like and coming soon, the ability to dislike. As per Mark!
Facebook might finally give users the ability to “dislike” things. During a question-and-answer session streamed live on Facebook on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg said the company was testing alternatives to the “Like” button.
“People have asked about the ‘dislike’ button for many years,” Zuckerberg said at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California. “Today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it.”
Presented with the opportunity to work with the CEO of Starbucks to open more franchises in predominantly black neighborhoods, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal said that he declined the offer because “black people don’t drink coffee.”
Speaking to reporter Graham Bensinger, Shaq recalled his encounter with Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz.
“My agent called me up and he says ‘Howard Schultz wants to do business with you, and I’m like, ‘coffee, eh.’ Because growing up, in my household, I’d never seen a black person drink coffee. So it was my thought process that black people didn’t drink coffee.”
“I’m always a guy that, if I don’t believe in it, I can’t do it,” O’Neal said. “No amount of money can make me endorse something that I’m not 100% behind.
“I looked at the great Howard Schultz’s face and said, ‘Black people don’t drink coffee, sir. I don’t think it’s gonna work.’ And you should have seen the look on his face!”
Maybe I need to dump my cup. I never got the memo stating that I’m not supposed to drink this stuff.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Donald Trump, speaking about Carly Fiorina – another Republican running for the GOP nomination – said,”Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine anyone voting for that for president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really folks, come on. Are we serious?”
Trump has been questioned and hammered about that statement since the words escaped his trap. But like everything else, Trump managed to come up with an excuse to pacify his Republican base. His excuse? To say he wasn’t talking about Fiorina’s face, he was actually talking about her “persona!”
“Probably I did say something like that about Carly,” Trump said on Fox News. “I’m talking about persona. I’m not talking about looks.”
He once again climbed in Republican polls, so the obviously bought his persona excuse! Amazing!
Well Carly Fiorina was not amazed and has finally figured out how to hit back against the wicked mouth of the Northeast! In a new ad Fiorina has taken Trump’s words about her face and made it about all women’s face.
Can you say classic politics coming from the non-politicians!
In an interview with the New York Daily News, the retired Tennis star James Blake, said that the officer who tackled him while he was standing outside a hotel waiting for a ride to the U.S Open, does not deserve to “have the same title as officers who are doing good work.”
“I want him to know what he did was wrong, and that in my opinion he doesn’t deserve to ever have a badge and a gun again, because he doesn’t know how to handle that responsibility effectively. He doesn’t deserve to have the same title as officers who are doing good work and are really helping keep the rest of the city safe.”
Blake was an apparent victim of “mistaken identity” by the New York police officer. He was tackled to the ground and arrested, then released after his identity was known. Blake is promising to use his celebrity status to bring to light a common police tactic of assuming that everyone is guilty and must prove their innocence.
The Mayor of New York and the Police Commissioner have issued formal apologies to James Blake.
“I’m lucky to be in the position I’m in, but I also talked to a lot of people the last few days that have had similar situations happen to them. Those are the people that deserve to be apologized to.”
James Blake is considering a lawsuit if changes aren’t implemented by the NYPD. Meanwhile, the officer, James Frascatore, who is white by the way, has been placed on desk duty.
Reports are coming in that famed NBA legend Moses Malone, has died. He was 60 years old.
Moses Malone, a three-time NBA MVP and one of the greatest players in professional basketball history, has died at 60, according to multiple reports.
Malone died in his sleep at a hotel in Virginia where he was set to play in a golf tournament, former teammate Calvin Murphy told Fox 26 in Houston.
Malone went straight to the ABA from high school in 1974 and starred in the startup league before becoming a legend when the ABA and NBA merged. He became a monster on the boards in Houston, leading the league with 17.6 rebounds per game in 1979 as he won his first MVP award. The team confirmed the loss of the Rocket legend on Twitter.
The following statement is from The Philadelphia 76ers.
“It is with a deep sense of sadness that the Sixers family mourns the sudden loss of Moses Malone. It is difficult to express what his contributions to this organization – both as a friend and player – have meant to us, the city of Philadelphia and his faithful fans. Moses holds a special place in our hearts and will forever be remembered as a genuine icon and pillar of the most storied era in the history of Philadelphia 76ers basketball. No one person has ever conveyed more with so few words — including three of the most iconic in this city’s history. His generosity, towering personality and incomparable sense of humor will truly be missed. We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers and as we are once again reminded of the preciousness of life.”
Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head and I nearly shot him. Today we ran into each other again and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation he now has a full time job and has another son on the way that will be here in November. I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends.
No one is ever lost forever and as long as you continue to work to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday things will work out eventually.
With some police resorting to their gun to settle all disputes, it’s good to see a story where a police officer had every right to be afraid, but somehow found the courage and not take the coward’s way out by pulling the trigger.
At the time of this writing, the post has already been shared almost 70,000 times and liked by almost 200,000 people.
His crime? I don’t know, but if I were to guess, his crime was standing in front a hotel while waiting for a ride to the U.S Open. That is when James Blake was tackled, thrown to the ground and handcuffed by a plainclothes New York Police officer.
Yes, that’s the same James Blake I’m talking about. The former professional Tennis player who had a rather impressive record during his playing days with 10 singles titles and 7 doubles titles.
The incident is now apparently a case of mistaken identity. For his troubles, Blake suffered bruises on his leg and a cut on his elbow. He was later released after police realized they had wrestled and arrested the wrong man.
According to his wife Christi, 56-year old John Gibson – a pastor and professor in New Orléans – struggled with addiction and depression in the past. And on August 24th after it was revealed by hackers that he frequented the cheaters website Ashley Madison, Christi found him dead in their home.
“It was a moment that life doesn’t prepare you for,” Christi told CNN. “How do you tell your kids that their dad is gone and that he took his own life?”
Christi also told CNN Gibson left a suicide note with an apology—she didn’t say what for, but the note did mention Ashley Madison. She also said her husband had struggled with addiction and depression in the past.
Gibson was set to teach classes at the New Orléans Baptist Theological Seminary the day after his death, but since the Seminary’s president announced Gibson’s death on Twitter, students and other teachers have been mourning him on Facebook.
We are not easily fooled here in the Big Apple! And when Donald Trump and his second or third or fourth wife Melania. made their presence known at the U.S Open yesterday to watch the Venus vs Serena match, some of the lucky few showed they appreciation for the Republican presidential wannabe by bestowing on him a much-needed and well-earned serving of BOOS!
Dick Cheney is wrong. That’s all I need to say and this post will be complete.
But I’ll explain.
The former vice president, who has been wrong on everything that has to do with Iraq, went on Fox News last week. The host asked Mr Cheney to explain why anyone should listen to him on the Iran Deal, when he has been consistently wrong on Iraq.
“Because I was right about Iraq,” Cheney replied.
Newsflash – Dick Cheney lies a lot too!
That statement prompted the White House to released the following video showing just some of the many instances where Cheney has been wrong on Iraq, and the release of the video just happens to coincides with a Republican anticipated speech given by the former VP.
The dumb ass in this case is 23-year-old Phoenix resident Christen Reece. After bar-hopping with his six friends around 2 or 3AM last Tuesday morning, someone announced the marvelous idea of going to shoot guns!
“You know, there’s not really a lot to the story other than don’t drink and shoot guns,” explains Jim Molesa, chief deputy of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office. “They were partying in the Valley, and then when the bars closed around 2 or 3, someone said, ‘Let’s go to the high country and shoot guns.’”
So the story goes Reece was so happy with his gun’s double safety feature that after bragging to his friends about how secure it was, he took the gun to his temple ato demonstrate and pulled the trigger. This is the point where I’ll say the gun did the shooting!
Reece dropped to the ground bleeding. His frantic friends took his body to a local fire station and ran away. The injuries were too much to handle at the fire station so Reece’s body was airlifted and taken to Scottsdale Osborn hospital and immediately taken into surgery. He remains in critical condition a day later.
“Having trouble sleeping at night?” the voice on the ad asks. “Too much energy? Need some low energy? Jeb — for all your sleeping needs,” as the video turns to Jeb speaking at a town hall and successfully managing to put an audience member to sleep!
