Over the last few weeks Donald Trump and Ben Carson were basically tied for the first position in the race for the Republican nomination for president. But thanks to the recent terrorist attacks in France, and some idiotic and anti-constitution statements from Trump regarding Syrian refugees, in addition to his unbelievable vernal attack on Ben Carson, the Republican base has once again fall in love with The Donald.
A new poll shows Donald Trump with commanding lead over the rest of the Republican field for president.
In the Republican primary race, the newest NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll shows Donald Trump has the frontrunner spot to himself, with 28% support among Republican and independent voters who lean Republican. Support for Ben Carson, who was tied with Trump in last month’s online poll, has fallen off by 8 points and the former neurosurgeon is now tied with Ted Cruz at 18%. Trailing not too far behind is Marco Rubio, at 11%. The next tier of candidates has a lot of catching up to do, with Jeb Bush at 4% and Chris Christie and Carly Fiorina each with 3%.
At a time when everything is recorded – sometimes in High Definition – you would think that people, especially those wishing to be president of the United States, would at least be more consistent in their positions.
Yes, positions change, views evolve, but when they do, at least acknowledge that evolution and embrace it, and don’t act as if you’ve always maintained your new way of thinking.
That is what Ted Cruz is doing these days in the debate about whether Syrian refugees should be allowed in the United States. Back in February, Ted Cruz – whose father is a Cuban refugee – was all for bringing Syrians here. In an interview on Fox News, Cruz looked into the camera and made the case that the refugees should be welcomed.
“We have welcomed refugees — the tired, huddled masses — for centuries, he said. “That’s been the history of the United States. We should continue to do so.” He added: “We have to continue to be vigilant to make sure those coming are not affiliated with the terrorists, but we can do that.”
But of course that was then. Now, Cruz thinks it’s “lunacy” to bring “the tired, huddled masses” from Syria here.
“It is nothing less than lunacy,” Cruz said as recently as last Saturday. “It makes no sense whatsoever for us to be bringing in refugees who our intelligence cannot determine if they are terrorists here to kill us or not. Those who are fleeing persecution should be resettled in the Middle East in majority Muslim countries.”
And when the president basically quoted what Cruz said in February and said it was “shameful” that governors are now against bring refugees here, Cruz took it personally and dared the president to “come back and insult me to my face!” Total insanity if you ask me.

Chicago police may be forced to release video that is said to show an officer shooting a black teenager 16 times, WGNTV reports.
A Cook County judge is expected to decide Thursday whether to order police to release dashcam video of the October 2014 shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.
Police have said McDonald refused to drop a knife when officers confronted him while responding to a call about a person walking down a street with a knife.
An attorney for McDonald’s family who has seen the video says the footage shows the teen was holding a small knife and walking away from officers when one officer opened fire.
A freelance journalist requested the footage in a public records request. Judge Franklin Valderrama has said he would announce his decision Thursday.
The man responsible for the Paris attacks last weekend was confirmed dead by French authorities this morning.
Abdelhamid Abaaoud was identified by his fingerprints collected at the scene in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis. His body was found “riddled with impacts,” according to the prosecutor’s statement.
The operation started with shootings at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, officials said. It resulted in the initial arrest of three people inside an apartment. At that point, a woman triggered a suicide vest.
Police fired nearly 5,000 rounds during the Saint-Denis raid, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins said Wednesday, adding that it was a particularly difficult raid because the apartment had an armored door.
Investigators were led to the apartment building in Saint-Denis after reviewing cellphone records and surveillance video indicating that Abbaoud, previously thought to be in Syria, was staying there, Molins said.
Molins said the blast from the suicide bomber caused the building to partially collapse, which has added to the amount of time needed to conduct the investigation because officials have had to reinforce the walls before collecting more evidence.

Texas on Wednesday executed a 36-year-old man convicted of killing his daughter and two stepdaughters in a mobile home blaze in 2000.
Raphael Holiday was put to death by lethal injection at the state’s death chamber in Huntsville and pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m., a prisons official said.
He became the 531st inmate executed by Texas since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976, the most of any state.
“Yes, I would like to thank all of my supporters and loved ones,” he was quoted by prison officials as saying in his last statement.
“I love you, Love y’all, always going to be with y’all. Thank you Warden,” he said.
Holiday was convicted of killing Tierra Lynch, 7; Jasmine DuPaul, 5; and Justice Holiday, 1, in a rural community about 100 miles (160 km) northwest of Houston.
He had been living with Tami Wilkerson, his common law wife at the time, until she secured a restraining order against him for sexually assaulting Tierra, according to the Texas attorney general’s office.
About six months later, Holiday, who had attempted to reconcile with Wilkerson, returned to the house and forced the girls’ grandmother at gunpoint to douse the home with gasoline, which ignited, it said. The grandmother survived.
This is no longer in the realms of “freedom of speech.” This irresponsible statement by Texas senator Ted Cruz is a direct threat and it should be taken as one! What exactly is he planning to do to the president if Mr. Obama was in his presence?
Now I understand that a direct threat to the President of the United States will give Cruz much favor with the so-called “patriots” in the Republican party, but it sounds like the Secret Service need to pay Cruz a visit!
Cruz was responding to Obama’s recent criticism of Republicans suggesting there be a religious test for Syrian refugees seeking entrance to the country, a plan he called “shameful” and “not American” while in Turkey for the Group of 20 summit.
“If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries. But I would encourage you, Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face,” Cruz said, staring directly into the camera.
Cruz got even more schoolyard, challenging the President to a debate any place, any time.
“Let’s have a debate on Syrian refugees, right now. We can do it anywhere you want. I would prefer it in the United States and not overseas,” the Republican presidential candidate said. “We’ll do it on any station.”
Following the ISIS claimed attacks in Paris where at least 129 innocent people were killed and hundreds more injured, a man in Canada wearing a Joker mask posted a video on YouTube promising to kill one Muslim or Arab a week.
The video was posted Tuesday on YouTube, but has since been taken down. In it a man speaking in a Quebecois-sounding accent said that starting next week he would kill an Arab or a Muslim each week all across the province.
He was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and said he had like-minded people on board who would help him to carry out the threat, reported the National Post.
Quebec provincial police, Sûreté du Québec, wouldn’t confirm or deny investigating the video.
Montreal’s police (SPVM) said they were aware of the video and were trying to establish whether the person falls under their jurisdiction.
“If you make threats on social networks or on the web, there are very concrete consequences in the real world, the criminal code allows us to press charges against people who do things like this,” SPVM spokesperson Laurent Gingras told Vice News.
They have no concern about home grown terrorists burning black churches, but they’re worried about Syrian refugees trying to come to America to survive.

Jeb Bush has fallen to eighth place in the race for the 2016 GOP nomination, according to a new national poll released Tuesday.
Bush, once considered a front-runner in the race, was the first choice for President of only 3% of likely Republican voters surveyed in the University of Massachusetts survey, marking the former Florida governor’s worst poll levels since he announced his candidacy earlier this year.
Coming in first in the poll, conducted among 1,224 people from Nov. 5 to Nov. 13, was Donald Trump, who got the support of 31%.
Ben Carson and Ted Cruz came in second and third, with 22% and 13%, respectively.
Bobby Jindal thought it was his time. He thought he would be the next president of the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Bobby Jindal dreamed of that title – President Jindal. But someone should have told him that you need to run for president in order get a chance a chance at winning!
After his feeble attempt to run, Jindal, who couldn’t get more than an average of ZERO in all the polls, called it quits!
“I’ve come to the realization that this is not my time,” Jindal said on Fox News.
He also said that he wasn’t prepared to endorsed anyone, but will support the eventual GOP candidate.
