Man Hijacks Seattle Linebacker’s Interview – Gives 911 Truther Message Instead

So you have a message that you want the world to hear, huh? And you don’t have $5 million to pay for a 30 second spot at the Super Bowl? Well there is apparently another way to get your message out to the masses. Just hijack the microphone when the linebacker for the winning team is about to give his press conference.

Now I am not suggesting this as the primary way for messengers to tell their tales, in fact, I strongly discourage this method. But Brooklyn resident Matthew Mills wasn’t listening and he got arrested for his troubles.

Mills played the role of a member of the press. He had a press pass and was allowed in the room with the Super Bowl players. When Seattle Linebacker Malcolm Smith sat down for his interview, Mills ran to the podium, grabbed the microphone away from Smith and said, “Investigate 9/11 — 9/11 was perpetrated by people in our own government.”

Mills was arrested and charged with trespassing. He has since been released. His message… heard.

It’s Official – The Most Adorable Super Bowl Ad for 2014 – Video

It’s official because I said so. And I’m also not afraid to say that this ad will cause some Republicans to complain. They still can’t understand the interracial aspect of it. If I was working at MSNBC, I’d be fired for making that statement and Mr. Phil would be issuing yet another apology.

Mom Arrested – Tried To Pimp Out her 15 Year Old Daughter For Super Bowl Sex

A Florida woman is jailed after making a Super Bowl week trip from her home to New York City, where she allegedly sought to pimp out her 15-year-old daughter, according to police.

When questioned by cops after her arrest Wednesday, Yolanda Ostolaza, 39, admitted that, “We came up here to work and make money with a pimp. I knew it was for escorting and prostitution,” according to a misdemeanor criminal complaint.

As for her child’s role in the illegal activity, Ostolaza remarked, “I thought my daughter was just going to do the fetish stuff.”

Undercover vice detectives, who initially contacted the teen via an online ad, arranged to pay $200 for a sexual encounter at a Manhattan hotel. When officers later took the girl into custody, she told them her age and said that her mother was waiting for her at a nearby hotel.

Ostolaza, pictured above, was subsequently charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. She remains locked up in lieu of $2000 bail. Her daughter has been placed in the custody of child welfare officials.

Super Bowl: Bracing For Subzero Weather in an Open-air Stadium

America is set for the coldest month of the century as weather forecasters predict yet another freezing blast of Arctic air – putting Super Bowl Sunday in jeopardy.

Teams have been warned to stay on high alert for changes to the scheduling of the first Super Bowl to be played in an open-air stadium.

Temperatures have already hit record lows, at times making parts of the U.S. colder than the North Pole, and are expected to plunge in the coming days.

The timing could not be worse for one of the biggest global sporting events, which will be exposed to the full force of the elements at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2.

Eric Grubman, NFL vice president of business operations, told the Denver Post: ‘We are advising teams to prepare in case a contingency plan goes into effect.’

The game could be moved to the preceding Friday or Saturday or the following Monday if authorities decide the weather will constitute a danger to public health.

Broncos coach John Fox and Seattle coach Pete Carroll will be the first to know if the event is rescheduled.

Matt Rogers, president of Commodity Weather Group LLC, said: ‘The crazy thing is that the current cold snap this week look to be a bit more modest in the face of next week’s outbreak.

‘The cold coming for the end of January is sufficient to make this the coldest month of the century so far and the coldest the Lower 48 has felt in the last 20 years.’

Knicks J.R. Smith Fined $50,000 for Shoe Laced Fiasco

Well, the other shoe has dropped.

Knicks guard J.R. Smith was fined $50,000 for what the NBA termed “recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct” in a Wednesday announcement, stemming from Smith’s shoelace-untying antics in the team’s past two games.

Smith initially was let off with a warning after the league investigated him for untying the shoelace of the Mavericks’ Shawn Marion during a free-throw attempt in Sunday’s game in Dallas. Then he was back at it Tuesday, trying the shoelace trick again — but the Pistons’ Greg Monroe successfully avoided it.

“He was warned, he comes back and he makes the same mistake, and it’s not right,” coach Mike Woodson said Wednesday on ESPN radio. “I’m going to address it tomorrow when he comes in for work, because it’s unacceptable. It’s unprofessional. That’s the only [two words] I can use. You just can’t do that.”

The mercurial swingman, who is averaging 11.3 points on miserable 34.8 percent shooting, was previously fined $25,000 by the NBA in November for directing “hostile” Twitter posts at Detroit’s Brandon Jennings.

Dennis Rodman and Other NBA Stars Land in North Korea

Basketball diplomacy?

Hall of Fame basketball player Dennis Rodman arrived in North Korea Monday with a team of former NBA players in tow as part of the next step of his program of so-called “basketball diplomacy.”

Taking his by-now customary route, Rodman arrived in Pyongyang via Beijing Monday with a squad of a dozen former basketball stars, including Vin Baker and Cliff Robinson, despite criticism from U.S. officials.

The U.S. players are to compete in an exhibition game against a North Korean team on Wednesday, the birthday of North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un.

“It’s about trying to connect two countries together in the world, to let people know that: Do you know what? Not every country in the world is that bad, especially North Korea,” Rodman told The Associated Press in an interview outside his hotel before heading to the Beijing airport with the team.

“People say so many negative things about North Korea. And I want people in the world to see it’s not that bad.”

When a reporter from Sky News suggested to Rodman that he had a responsibility to raise the issue of human rights as the only American with such access to the  North Korea leader, Rodman responded “That’s not my job. The only thing I am doing right now, I am only doing one thing: this game is for his birthday. It’s for his birthday.

“And I hope that if this opens doors and we can actually talk about certain things, then we can do certain things, but I am not going to sit there and go in and say ‘Hey guy, you’re doing the wrong thing.’

“That’s not the right thing to do. He’s my friend first. He’s my friend. I don’t give a (expletive). I tell the world: he’s my (expletive) friend, I love him.”

Mike Woodson – I May Need to “Punch” the Panic Out of J.R Smith

Mike Woodson can say anything about his pet, J.R. Smith, and nobody takes it too seriously. But the Knicks coach certainly is beside himself regarding Smith, who has not been playing at the level befitting the 2012-13 Sixth Man Award winner.

Woodson certainly didn’t enjoy some of Smith’s recent psychobabble after recent Knicks losses to Indiana and Washington.

After the Indiana game, Smith said he felt like “panicking’’ because of the poor start. Woodson knocked him Sunday and went even further Monday after the morning shootaround at Portland’s Moda Center.

When asked if he was irritated by Smith’s panic remark, Woodson said: “To be sitting here after 12 games talking about I’m in a panic stage, I might need to punch him out and get it out of his thought process.”

The Knicks coach then smirked, but it wasn’t meant entirely as a big joke.
“If we panic,’’ said point guard Raymond Felton, “we might as just well shut down the season.’’
After the Pacers heartbreaker Wednesday, Smith said: “Like you say, it’s too early to panic, but me, personally, I’m panicking. I don’t like this.’’

Knicks Coach Fined $25000 for Criticizing NBA Refs

The New York Knicks aren’t doing too good right now. In a recent interview on ESPN, the Knicks head coach Mike Woodson made a statement that caught the ear of the NBA gods.

The Knicks Coach was talking about the foul calls or lack of calls where his star player Carmelo Anthony is concerned, and this statement cost him $25,000

Absolutely. And I’m not going to shy away from that either. I think Melo gets hit more than ever.”

“I’ve been at this thing 30 years and sometimes I’m starting to wonder what’s a foul and what’s not a foul.”

“The offense normally has the advantage when you’re making plays at the rim…Melo draws a lot of contact but he comes up empty a lot of times as well.”
