Selfies of a female serial killer on the run – Stabbed three men in the heart

These are the chilling selfies a female serial killer and her alleged accomplice took while the pair were on the run from police.

Joanna Dennehy, 31, has admitted stabbing three men in the heart and dumping their bodies in ditches.

The bodies of her three victims were found in fields near to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in March and April last year.

Despite killing the three, Dennehy remained unsatisfied and fled to Hereford in search of more victims, a jury heard.

She cruised the city and selected two other men at random, stabbing Robin Bereza, 64, and John Rogers, 56, who survived the cold-blooded attacks.

Alleged conspirators Gary ‘Stretch’ Richards, 47, and Leslie Layton, 37, who are now on trial at Cambridge Crown Court, deny helping to cover up the ‘terrible truth’ of the murders.

Pictures of Dennehy and Richards were shown to the court as Mark Lloyd, an associate of the man, gave evidence. Georgina Page, a friend of Dennehy’s, also gave evidence today.

The shocking images include one of Dennehy jovially sticking her tongue out as she brandishes a jagged knife with handcuffs attached to her trousers.

In another the killer is pictured revealing her underwear and standing in a provocative sexual position in the days after committing her crimes. It shows a series of horrendous scars caused by the mother’s relentless self-harming.

Victims Lukasz Slaboszewski (left) and Kevin Lee – who were stabbed in the heart by Dennehy

Mr Lloyd said Dennehy returned to the car and kissed Stretch on the cheek ‘as if to say thanks’.

He said the second attack was a ‘brutal re-run’ of the stabbing just moments earlier.

John Chapman was also stabbed to death by the 31-year-old

After the second knife attack Mr Lloyd said Dennehy returned with the victim’s dog in her arms and declared it was her new pet.

Mr Lloyd said: ‘It was terrified of her. It was physically shaking on her lap. She wanted to take the dog for a walk.’

He added that Dennehy treated 7ft 3in Stretch ‘like a puppy’ and said the giant would be dead if the killer hadn’t needed him to drive her around.

Georgina Page then told the court how she and Dennehy became friends while serving jail sentences together.

She said she next saw her former cell mate when she and Stretch turned up on her doorstep in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, following the murders.

She said: ‘When I was inside with her she wasn’t a murderer or nothing. At first I didn’t believe her.

‘I was very shocked. I was scared, I didn’t know what to do.’

The court also heard that during the pair’s stay at Ms Page’s house Dennehy was ‘jumping around’ in delight at seeing her face on the news.

Ms Page said the killer downed whisky and ate a ham sandwich while bragging about her violent acts.

She said: ‘I was terrified. Stretch turned round and said that if anyone grassed on them he would get his dad to sort them out.

Picutred is the knife used by Joanna Dennehy to attack her five victims. The later two men survived the attacks

‘Joanna was talking about something and saying “you know we’re going to get caught and sent to jail for a long time”.’

She also said Dennehy compared herself and Stretch to ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ whose gang killed nine policeman in 1930s America.

Killer: Joanna Dennehy stabbed three men in a 10-day spree of violence

And when she asked her why she had killed, Dennehy responded: ‘They shouldn’t have pissed me off, they shouldn’t have flirted with me’

A picture of the knife believed to be used in all five attacks was also shown to court and described as a nine-inch fold knife.

Mr Lloyd said he saw the same knife in Dennehy’s hands at a flat in Hereford occupied by his friend Moby.

It was there that Dennehy took pictures of herself and Stretch as they prepared to drive round the city in a bid to kill again.

Mr Lloyd told the jury that the blade ‘was as black as the handle’ because of all the congealed blood and that it ‘smelt like copper’.

He said Dennehy than told him: ‘I’ve killed three people, Gary’s helped dispose of them and I want to do some more. You’ve had your fun Gary, I want my fun.’

Mr Lloyd also revealed that Dennehy flirted with him and ‘caressed’ his neck and backside.

He told the court she said: ‘I wish I could have met you last year, your my type of guy’

He said that Stretch ‘was not liking it one bit’ before the three of them got into the green Vauxhall Astra that the killer had travelled in from Peterborough.

Mr Lloyd then said he tried to call the police while Stretch drove around Hereford looking for victims for Dennehy.

But he failed to do so and told a court that ‘Gary was the taxi driver, she went around killing people’.

The trial continues.

Russian Teen May Have Helped Steal Your Credit Card Info From Target

Via Yelp

Turns out the mastermind behind the software leading to a massive Target breach that swiped credit card information from 110 million customers last November may have been none other than a (brilliant) teenager, according to investigators.

Authorities suspect that an unnamed 17-year-old with “ties to St. Petersburg” may have developed the “malware” software used to skim credit card numbers in the enormous data breach, which involved the theft of everything from confidential credit and debit card data to personal information like addresses and phone numbers. That same software may have also been used to hit up several other retailers, and a federal report this week suggested the software breach was an organized, likely Russian-instigated cyber attack on the U.S.

California cyber-security firm IntelCrawler says they’ve identified the “malware”‘s architect, tracking the software back to a 17-year-old with the username “ree4.” And though the firm does not believe the teenager orchestrated the cyber-attack, they note this isn’t the first malicious software he has designed, as per CEO Andrew Komarov: “Previously he has created several tools used in hacking community for brute force attacks, such as ‘Ree4 mail brute’, and also earned some first money with social networks accounts hacking and DDoS attacks trainings, as well as software development including malicious code.”

Several online chats were embedded in the report; the chats were conducted in Russian, and the translation alleges Ree4 sold one download of the software for $2000; investigators have still not managed to pinpoint the hackers directly responsible for the attack.

Oquendo’s Family Lawyer – “Unfortunatley, there is good reason to think it’s him [Avonte]

The desperate, three-months-long search for missing autistic teenager Avonte Oquendo appeared Friday to be coming to a tragic close.

Skeletal remains clad in clothing that appeared to match the outfit 14-year-old Avonte was wearing when he ran off from his school on Oct. 4 were discovered by a teenaged photographer in Queens along the East River shoreline.

All that remained to confirm Oquendo’s parents’ worst fears was a comparison of DNA taken from the body parts with the sample that boy’s mom, Vanessa Fontaine, rushed to investigators. The DNA of the boy’s father is already on file.

“Unfortunately, there is good reason to think it’s him,” said the family’s lawyer, David Perecman. “It’s more than just speculation.”

Still, Avonte’s parents continued to cling to a slim piece of hope that their son was still alive.

The headless body found in College Point was wearing Fruit of the Loom underwear, size large, police said.

Fontaine dressed her son in Hanes brand underwear.

“They’re distraught, but they’re hopeful it’s not him,” Perecman, said. “They remain optimistic that he’s still out there.”

Christie Time?

Worried about a cold weather Super Bowl in a couple of weeks? Don’t be: Now that the subpoenas are out and Randy Mastro is in, there’s going to be plenty of hot air to warm the New Jersey Meadowlands and nourish the state and national news media for the game and beyond.

First up is the list of those individuals who have been subpoenad to testify in front of the legislature. This includes people close to Christie’s campaign and political offices and reaches into the day-to-day operations of the government. Let’s see how much they say, but given immunity, I believe we might hear some evidence that Christie had at least some knowledge of the Bridge lane closings.

Christie’s hiring of former federal Prosecutor Randy Mastro is evidence that the governor is taking this scandal very seriously. Mastro worked for Rudy Giuliani, another politician who liked to bully people and thought that he was above the law. Remember Giuliani time? That was when the mayor sent the message that it was OK to do anything to fight crime. We need to hope that we don’t see a text or e-mail that refers to Christie time, which would be the desire to win a reelection bid by more than 40 points. Which really sounds like it’s the real impetus behind the Bridge scandal. What a waste.

We’ve had our fun with this, but I don’t think the next few months are going to be fun for the governor. And rightly so.

Pope Benedict Defrocked 400 Priests involved in Sex Abuse Scandals

As the Vatican was being blistered by a U.N. committee this week for its decades-long mishandling and cover up of a global sex abuse scandal involving priests and children, new disclosures show the extraordinary steps that Pope Benedict XVI took to get rid of problem priests.

In just two years, Benedict defrocked nearly 400 priests, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press, which first reported the story on Friday. The number of priests defrocked by Benedict in 2011 and 2012 reflected a dramatic spike over the 171 priests removed in 2008 and 2009, according to the AP.

The newly uncovered statistics come from data from annual reports compiled by the Vatican to help the Holy See defend itself before a U.N. committee this week in Geneva.

While Benedict has been seen as remote, dogmatic, and lacking the charisma of both his predecessor, John Paul II, and his successor, Pope Francis, he was aggressive in pushing the Holy See to address the scourge of child molestation within the Church.

Teenage Prankster Rang Doorbell – Got Shot

ARENDTSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) –
A 14-year-old boy was shot in the foot while he and other juveniles were ringing doorbells at Arendtsville homes as a prank early this morning, according to police.

Authorities have arrested the alleged shooter, 28-year-old Eric Lee Steinour, and have charged him with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, according to state police in Gettysburg.

Several juveniles were involved in the pranks at around 2 a.m. when Steinour confronted two of the youths in an alley and fired a shot from a handgun when they ran away, police said in a news release.

The juveniles were hiding when the victim found that the bullet had struck him in the right foot and leg, police said.

His mother transported him to Gettysburg Hospital, and he was later transported to York Trauma Center for treatment of the non-life threatening injury, police said.

Steinour, of Biglerville, was found at the home of an acquaintance as troopers investigated. He admitted to firing the gun and was taken into custody, police said.

Trooper Robert Hicks, a state police spokesman, said it appears Steinour fired in an attempt to scare the teens.

Possible Remains of Missing Avonte Oquendo Found on Queens NY

Authorities in Queens are investigating the discovery of remains found next to the East River, and sources tell Eyewitness News that police have notified the family of missing autistic teenager Avonte Oquendo about the investigation.

The remains, said to be a human arm and legs, were found on a rock in the water near the College Point Yacht Club around 7 p.m. Thursday. Police responded to a 911 call in the vicinity of Powell Cove Boulevard and Endeavor Place after a 14-year-old girl stumbled across the limbs.

The sources said a pair of sneakers was also found, but it could not be confirmed if it belonged to the 14-year-old non-verbal boy who disappeared after running out of his Long Island City school 15 weeks ago Friday, on October 4.

The remains were removed to the Queens County Morgue as Harbor Patrol divers and helicopters searched the cold, dark waters for additional body parts. The tide quickly came in and the search had to be suspended, but it resumed at daybreak.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. No positive identification has been made, but police have been in contact with the Oquendo family.

The investigation is ongoing.

Firefighters Rescued Girl, Then Accidentally Ran Over Her with Firetruck – Video

Video footage from the helmet of a rescuer on a plane crash in San Francisco last year appears to show emergency teams failing to assist a teenaged survivor, moments before she was accidentally run over by a fire truck.

Three passengers died when Asiana Airlines Flight 214 clipped a seawall with its landing gear, skidded off the runway and burst into flames at the end of an otherwise routine flight from Seoul to San Francisco on July 6.

One of the victims, Ye Mengyuan, 16, had been pulled alive from the plane and placed near one wing.

But the Chinese teenager was later run over and killed by a fire truck, which did not spot her lying under a layer of fire retardant foam. US prosecutors decided in October not to bring charges against the firefighter driving the truck.

CBS on Thursday broadcast segments of the video, allegedly obtained by a person close to the family of the victim.

In-Flight Act of Kindness to Autistic Child Goes Viral

Shanell Mouland wrote a blog thanking Eric Kunkel, not shown, for entertaining her daughter Kate, 3, who has autism, during a flight this month. Credit: GoTeamKate.com

When Shanell Mouland boarded a Philadelphia-bound plane out of Orlando early this month with her family, she was bracing for the worst.

Mouland was headed home to New Brunswick, Canada, Jan. 5 with her husband and daughters Grace, 5, and Kate, 3, who has autism and doesn’t like to sit for long. They were returning from a week spent at Walt Disney World.

“We knew that flights were difficult for her,” Mouland said. “And we knew this was going to be a tough one.”

When businessman Eric Kunkel sat down next to them on the plane, Kate immediately started reaching for him and calling him “Daddy.”

Instead of ignoring Kate, Kunkel put down his work and spent 2.5 hours during the flight playing games with the preschooler, calming her and keeping her busy with pictures of his puppies.

The simple act of kindness brought such extraordinary relief to Mouland that several days later she penned a post titled “Dear ‘Daddy’ in Seat 16C Flight 1850 From Philly” on her blog “Go Team Kate.”

“You could have shifted uncomfortably in your seat,” she wrote. “You could have given her that smile that I despise because it means ‘Manage your child, please.’ … Thank you for entertaining Kate so much that she had her most successful plane right yet. And thank you for putting your papers away and playing turtles with our girl.”

Mouland’s blog entry became a global sensation, getting more than 70,000 likes on Facebook.

It took one day for the blog post to reach Kunkel, an IT executive and married father of one in Villas, N.J.

”I would have never expected this to happen and I didn’t, so it’s a little overwhelming at times,” he said. “It makes me feel good.”

“Sometimes the simplest things are such a big deal,” Mouland told ABC News today. “But it’s a big deal for him to treat her like a little person.”

Cops Viciously Beat Deaf Man For Not Responding During Traffic Stop [VIDEO]

Pearl Pearson, 64, a diabetic, deaf driver who resides in Oklahoma City was allegedly viciously beaten for seven minutes by police because he did not respond  during a traffic stop, reports the Black Youth Project.

The January 3 incident began when Pearson was pulled over by police officers. Even though the fact that Pearson is deaf is clearly marked on his driver’s licence and on his vehicle, officers allegedly punched Pearson in the face as soon as he rolled down the window.

Read more details below:

1. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol pulled Pearl over late in the evening on January 3, 2014. Pearl pulled over as he should.

2. Pearl’s driver’s license indicates he is Deaf. He also has a placard in his driver’s door that says, “Driver is deaf”.

3. Pearl pulled over and rolled down his window, expecting an officer to ask for this identification. An officer struck him in the face before Pearl had the chance to do anything.  As you can see, he was struck multiple times.

4. An interpreter was never provided while Pearl was under the care of law enforcement.  Not during the booking, hospital, or time at the jail  was an interpreter provided, even through Pearl requested one.

5. Pearl was left wondering “why” the the entire time.  He has no clue why  he was beat. Pearl and his family are still not sure, but are ready for some answers.

6. Pearl’s own son is a police officer, as was his son-in-law, who is now a deputy sheriff.  He respects law enforcement and knows how to respond when pulled over.  There is no reason for someone like Pearl to be hurt like this by those who are meant to protect and serve.

Capt. George Brown, spokesman for the OHP, said, “After an internal review of facts surrounding the arrest of Mr. Pearl Pearson, Chief of Patrol, Col. Rick Adams, has directed investigators to expand the focus of their investigation in order to determine if there were any violations of state law. If through the course of this investigation, it is determined there were violations of department policy and/or state law, the appropriate action will be taken. To date, the office of the chief has not received any outside complaint regarding this event. State Troopers Foster and Hayes remain on suspension with pay pending the results of this investigation.”

See KFOR news report below:

A fundraiser benefiting Pearson is scheduled for January 16.

Christie the Vi(ndi)cti(ve)m

If Governor Chris Christie thought that Thursday’s news conference, that turned into a two-hour fiasco of alternately blaming others and apologizing without remorse, was going to be the end of the story about the GWBridge lane closures, then he was clearly mistaken. As usual with a scandal, the more we know, the more we want to know.

For example, who actually texted David Wildstein that they were smiling at the traffic jam? This is going to be interesting because presumably it wasn’t Bridget Anne Kelly, the Christie aide who went from loyal and brilliant early in the week to “stupid” and “deceitful” at the press conference. And speaking of Kelly, why didn’t Christie speak to her before firing her? What kind of prosecutor assumes guilt first and worries about whether they’re being just later? Answer: A prosecutor like Christie who obviously doesn’t care about the truth.

Questions about Christie’s political future are also a main topic, as this scandal shows that he either doesn’t have control over his own aides, or that he sent a message to them that this was politically acceptable behavior. In any case, this has severely damaged his national reputation. Conservatives were always wary of him; now moderates might be scared off by a man who has been resolute in the past, but just might have spilled over into vindictive in the national mind.

But the worst aspect at this point is that mayors from across New Jersey are now reviewing events of the past year and wondering if the negative attention they’ve received from Trenton is a result of them not endorsing Christie or running afoul of him because they disagreed with his decisions. This is the atmosphere that the governor has created for himself. Yes, his YouTube videos were entertaining for his supporters, but they are now a liability because, together with this scandal, they show a man who has no tolerance for opposition. That’s dangerous for a man who wants to be president.

It will be interesting to see what new information comes out about this and whether the narrative as we imagine it today has more moving parts to it.
