Remember the cat that saved a little boy who was being attacked by a vicious dog? Well it seems that the dog inadvertently got the death penalty for his attack on the kid. And Saturday was his last day on earth.
Sources at the Bakersfield animal shelter tell TMZ … Scrappy was euthanized at the end of a 10-day hold following the attack. We’re told the dog was aggressive during his stay at the shelter, even trying to bite a couple of employees.
Scrappy was so ornery … we’re told he would try to attack staff even when they tried to give him food and water.
One of the ideas from Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan during his campaign was to sell empty lots in the city for a small price to be used for the owner’s (legal) discretion. Looks like Duggan is keeping his promise, as such a program is coming to fruition.
Duggan tweeted last night that a pilot program to sell lots in the city for $100 is under way in Southwest Detroit. The lots are ones that likely are owned by the city, whether naturally empty or vacant by means of home demolition. They’re probably not huge lots; likely just enough for a home that used to be there.
I personally thought putting pubic hairs on food would lead to something a little more involved than just a suspension. But that’s just me I guess, and this is just KFC!
A KFC worker has been suspended after claims that a customer’s food was “laced with pubic hair”.
The hair was placed in the customer’s food after they were apparently rude to staff.
The grisly revenge happened in drive-thru in a KFC restaurant in Cardiff, Wales.
In a message posted on a Facebook page, one user wrote: “To the girls who came through KFC drive thru on western avenue just then… Threatened my friend who served you because she ‘needed to smile more’? Karma’s a bitch girls, hope you enjoyed your food I made for you after over hearing the way you spoke to my girl on the head set… be picking pubes out your teeth for a week, mwah xo.”
She added: “We have the highest standards of food hygiene and do not tolerate even the suggestion of this kind of behaviour, and therefore the employee was suspended as soon as the matter came to our attention.”
A gunman went on a drive-by shooting rampage in a Santa Barbara student enclave and at least seven people were killed, including the attacker, authorities said.
Investigators believe a 22-year-old named Elliot Rodger driving a black BMW acted alone in the shootings around 9:30pm Friday night near the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown confirmed at a news conference early Saturday that that seven people were killed, including the gunman, and seven wounded.

‘Retribution’: Elliot Rodger posted a video to social media in which he outlines his plan for ‘retribution’ for being rejected by women
Brown said the suspect exchanged gunfire with deputies and then drove off and crashed into a parked car.
‘We have obtained and are currently analyzing both written and videotaped evidence that suggests this atrocity was a premeditated mass murder,’ Brown said.
Rodger is thought to be the son of Peter Rodger, assistant director of the Hollywood film franchise The Hunger Games.
Authorities are examining a video posted on social media by the shooter in which he rants about women who supposedly rejected his advances.
The video is called ‘Elliot Rodger’s Retribution.’
Rodger, a Santa Barbara City College Student and Isla Vista resident, according to his social media accounts unleashed a tirade about his ‘loneliness, rejection, and unfulfilled desires,’ and blames women for preferring ‘obnoxious brutes’ to him, ‘the supreme gentlemen.’

‘I’m 22 years old and I’m still a virgin. I’ve never even kissed a girl,’ he says in the video.
‘College is the time when everyone experiences those things such as sex and fun and pleasure. But in those years I’ve had to rot in loneliness. It’s not fair. You girls have never been attracted to me. I don’t know why you girls aren’t attracted to me. But I will punish you all for it,’ he says in the video, which runs to almost seven minutes.
He repeatedly promises to ‘punish’ women and lays out his plan for ‘retribution.’
‘I’m going to enter the hottest sorority house of UCSB and I will slaughter every single spoilt, stuck-up, blonde s**t that I see inside there. All those girls that I’ve desired so much, they would’ve all rejected me and looked down on me as an inferior man if I ever made a sexual advance towards them,’ he says.
‘I’ll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you. You will finally see that I am, in truth, the superior one. The true alpha male,’ he laughs like a maniacal movie villain. ‘Yes… After I have annihilated every single girl in the sorority house I will take to the streets of Isla Vista and slay every single person I see there. All those popular kids who live such lives of hedonistic pleasure…’
Rodger’s Twitter account has only two tweets, posted on April 19 and 20.
‘Why are girls sexually attracted to obnoxious, brutish men instead of sophisticated gentlemen such as myself? #girls #perverted #sex #unfair,’ reads the first.
Seven dead, including attacker, in University of California…
‘Why do girls hate me so much?’ he posted on April 20, along with a now-deleted YouTube video.
Deputies found the suspect inside the BMW dead from a gunshot wound to the head. But the sheriff said he did not know if the suspect was shot and killed by deputies or if the wound was self-inflicted. A semiautomatic handgun was recovered.
As the shooting unfolded, residents took to social media to share the news and warn others.
‘I could have easily been dead right now. RIP to the girls who got shot and killed and other people who got run over by this idiot,’ tweeted one.
Police have arrested a man in front of the White House after he reportedly got naked and tried to hop the fence, reports say.
Photos of the arrest show at least four Secret Service agents pinning the nude man to the sidewalk after he tried to get by security and assaulted an officer on Friday afternoon.
The unidentified man left nothing to the imagination as he stripped all the way down to his socks at one of the security gates at about 3 p.m. after he was denied entrance to the White House, according to the Daily Caller.
The man was adamant that he had an appointment with the President Obama as he yelled and removed his boxers, the Caller reported. That was seconds before his naked body was tackled to the ground.
The officers clothed him with a simple blanket and packed him away into the back of a van.
The man was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, reported the Washington Post.
Republicans, they pat themselves on the shoulders and proclaims that they are the lovers of life. They do everything possible to protect life, even if it means taking away a woman’s right to choose. But then again, Republicans hate life, and they go through every possible avenue to make sure that people dies – taking away their healthcare, taking away kid’s food and nutrition and now, bringing back previously discarded ways of killing people on death row.
They’re introducing legislation to bring back the firing squad and now, they’ve brought back the electric chair!
Tennessee lawmakers overwhelmingly passed the electric chair legislation in April, with the Senate voting 23-3 and the House 68-13 in favor of the bill.
Richard Dieter, the executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, said Tennessee is the first state to enact a law to reintroduce the electric chair without giving prisoners an option.
“There are states that allow inmates to choose, but it is a very different matter for a state to impose a method like electrocution,” he said. “No other state has gone so far.”
This is unusual and might be both cruel and unusual punishment,” he said.
Other states allow for use of the electric chair, but at the inmate’s discretion.
“No state says what Tennessee says. This is forcing the inmate to use electrocution,” according to Dieter, who believes “the inmate would have an automatic Eighth Amendment challenge.”
The amendment protects against cruel and unusual punishment.
“The electric chair is clearly a brutal alternative,” Deiter said.
As if this story really needed to be checked into.
Someone sent on email to PolitiFact pointing their attention to another story going around the Internet claiming that President Obama was running for a third term. PolitiFact apparently had the manpower, and checked into the story.
The article with a Washington dateline began, “President Barack Obama shocked the country this morning with news that he is running for a third term.”
It went on to quote Obama at a press conference saying,”‘I can’t abandon the American people now when they need me more than ever. We’ve come this far as a nation, now is not the time to do something different. This is the change you wanted and this is the change you’re getting.”
The article then quoted Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., telling CNN that he opposes Obama’s decision. “This defies everything the Constitution stands for,” Paul is quoted as saying. “We can not let this man have a third term.”
The problem facing Obama, according to the article, is the 22nd Amendment, which prevents presidents from running for more than two terms. It was ratified in 1951.
However, the article suggests that Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., has “recently introduced” a measure to abolish the 22nd Amendment — which is “exactly the kind of news that makes an Obama 2016 Presidential run possible.”
The article closes with a comment from Paul Horner, purportedly an administration spokesman.
“Obama is guaranteed to win in 2016 and then we’ll all be able to enjoy this great man for another four years,” the article quotes “Horner” as saying. “Things could not get any better for the American people. I’m so stoked!”
So is Obama really going to get around the Constitution to run for a third term?
Nope.
In fact, people passing along this story by email appear not to have noticed that it comes from a satire site called the National Report.
The site’s tongue-in-cheek disclaimer says, in part, that “the views expressed by writers on this site are theirs alone and are not reflective of the fine journalistic and editorial integrity of National Report.” The urban-legend investigation site Snopes.com has archived an even clearer disclaimer that has since been removed. The former disclaimer said, “National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental.”
No, this is not another story about Ariel Castro, this is a story about Isidro Garcia, who also kidnapped his victim, raped and impregnated her, and held captive for 10 years.
Isidro Garcia was arrested Tuesday after his alleged victim reached out to her sister on Facebook and revealed how she been held hostage in a relationship with the 41-year-old man and had given birth to his child during the decade she vanished.
Santa Ana police say the girl’s mother reported her missing in August 2004. The mother told police her daughter went missing, along with her live-in boyfriend, Garcia, after a domestic violence incident.
Detectives say the mother suspected Garcia was sexually abusing her daughter.
A former neighbor in the sprawling Villa del Sol apartment complex recalled speaking with the missing girl’s mother shortly before the alleged kidnapping.
“I spoke to her mom about God,” Silvia Suarez, 54, told The Times in Spanish. “She said she was having problems with her partner. She believed he was romancing her daughter.”
The mother also suspected that her partner was having a sexual relationship with her daughter and that they were making plans to leave together.
Araceli Ochoa, a leasing agent for the well-kept complex over more than 500 units, remembered speaking to the girl’s mother after the girl went missing.
She said the mother came to her office and was deeply worried and stressed.
“She couldn’t understand how her daughter could leave,” Ochoa said in Spanish. She also expressed relief that she had been located by police. “I am very excited that they found her but it’s still a tragedy that she has to live with every day now,” Ochoa said. “Each day with him probably felt like 100 years to her.”
The victim, now 25, revealed to authorities Tuesday how she was abducted in June 2004, when she was living with her mother and sisters in Santa Ana.
Last week was a busy week for the crazy Republicans trying to take over the government. They had a march on Washington, did you know? Well that’s what I’m here for. To bring your attention to the 30 million people they expected to show up to overthrow the government.
I now know why I never liked The wheel of Fortune. On Monday, host Pat Sajak pointed out the reason. Pat Sajak is a non believer in Global Warming.
Apparently the Republican nonsense has overpowered the Wheel of Fortune star, prompting him to use his twitter account to call environmentalists “unpatriotic” and even “racists.”
“I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends,” Sajak tweeted without context. “Good night.”
This is hardly the first time that the TV host has taken it upon himself to comment on the environment on Twitter. Earlier this week, he wrote,
“Help…climate changing…must send money to lots of places…a lot of money…hurry…time is short…not kidding…” and “Very hot weather: ‘We’re all going to die!’ Very cold weather: ‘There’s a difference between climate & weather, moron!’”
While Sajak has kept his political views off of his Vanna White-assisted show, he has reportedly been a frequent financial contributor to the Republican Party and conservative candidates. The game show star has given a reported $10,000 to political causes.
Six Iranians are behind bars after they appeared in a fan video set to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” the American hit song that has sold millions of downloads worldwide.
Tehran Police Chief Hossein Sajedinia ordered the arrests of the three men and three women because they helped make an “obscene video clip that offended the public morals and was released in cyberspace,” the Iranian Student News Agency reported Wednesday.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani may think differently, if a post on his Twitter account is any indication.
U.N. report: Iran developing new missiles Pharrell cries from making people ‘Happy’ Analyzing a region in flux Mother slaps, then forgives son’s murderer
“#Happiness is our people’s right. We shouldn’t be too hard on behaviors caused by joy,” the post read in what appears to be a restatement of a Rouhani comment from 2013, based on a date accompanying the tweet.
Pharrell himself denounced the arrests.
“It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness,” the Grammy Award winner said on his Facebook page.
