DeSantis Snaps at Scott for Disagreeing with his ‘Slavery Had Benefits’ Position

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis chuckled to himself when asked to respond to his fellow Republican’s mild criticism of his school curriculum. He then gathered himself then pointed out the obvious; it’s the “DC Republicans,” fault.

As a recap, this is what DC Republican, Tim Scott said, “as a country founded upon freedom, the greatest deprivation of freedom was slavery. There is no silver lining … in slavery. What slavery was really about was separating families, about mutilating humans and even raping their wives. It was just devastating. So I would hope that every person in our country — and certainly running for president — would appreciate that.”

Scott then goes on to say, “People have bad days, sometimes they regret what they say. And we should ask them again to clarify their positions.”

When asked to clarify his position, DeSantis chuckled, then pointed the reporter’s attention to the shiny DC Republican over there…, “You know, I think part of the reason our country has struggled is because D.C. Republicans all too often accept false narratives, accept lies that are perpetrated by the left and accept the lie that Kamala Harris has been perpetrating, even when that has been debunked.”

He continued.

“That’s not the way you do it. The way you do it, the way you lead is to fight back against the lies, is to speak the truth. And so I’m here defending my state of Florida against false accusations and against lies, and we’re going to continue to speak the truth.”

Carlee Russell Arrested and Charged for False Kidnapping Report

Her story captured the nation. She said she saw a toddler walking along the highway, then she disappeared for 49 hours and reappeared with a fascinating kidnapping tale. Turned out it was all a lie, and now Alabama police has charged Russell with two misdemeanor charges.

The 26-year-old is being charged with falsely reporting to law enforcement officers and falsely reporting an incident, both misdemeanors.

She was released on bail, Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis announced at a news conference.

Both misdemeanor charges have a maximum sentence of up to a year in jail and a fine up to $6,000, Derzis said.

“I know many are shocked and appalled that Miss Russell is only being charged with two misdemeanors, despite all the panic and disruption her actions caused,” he said.

“Let me assure you I too share the same frustration,” he went on. “But existing laws only allow the charges that were filed to be filed.”

The investigation will be handled by the office of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.

“We don’t see this as a victimless crime,” Marshall said at the Friday news conference. “There were significant hours spent, resources expended as a result of this investigation.” He also cited the “many men and women who are civilians” who helped search for her.

Derzis said no charges have been filed against Russell’s family or any other individuals. Additional charges may be filed as the attorney general’s office works through their investigation, he added.

Tim Scott Wants Clarification on DeSantis “Slavery had Benefits” Claim

Well, at least this Republican presidential hopeful is not afraid to take a sensible position, even when it goes against his other Republican colleagues.

When reporters asked South Carolina Representative, Tim Scott to speak about Florida’s new ‘education’ curriculum where Ron DeSantis wants to teach kids that slavery had benefits, Scott, although his response was rather mild in my opinion, stepped up and had this to say;

“There is no silver lining in slavery,” Scott said. “The truth is, anything you can learn that — any benefits that people suggest you had during slavery, you would’ve had as a free person. What slavery was, was really about separating families, about mutilating humans and even raping their wives. It was just devastating.”

“I would hope that every person in our country, and certainly running for president, would appreciate that,” he added.

“People have bad days. Sometimes they regret what they say, and we should ask them again to clarify their position,” Scott said.

Twenty Seven years after his murder, a newly released video shows Tupac surrounded by adoring fans, conversing with them before he entered the passenger side of a car and was driven to his death.

No one was ever charged with Pac’s murder, but just weeks ago, Las Vegas police executed a search warrant at the home of 60-year-old Duane Keith Davis, a.k.a. “Keefe D,” an allege passenger in the drive-by car. The police raid at Davis’ home was a search for computers and other electronics that referenced Tupac’s killing.

Carlee Russell Admits Faking Her Own Kidnapping

Why? Why would you fake their your kidnapping? Are you so starved for attention? Chalk this up to the many other cases that makes no sense at all.

Carlee Russell admitted she did not see a toddler wandering on the side of the highway and lied about being kidnapped in a hoax that set off a nationwide effort to find her, an attorney for the Alabama woman said Monday.

Hoover Police Chief Nicholas C. Derzis read the statement provided by Russell’s attorney during a news conference, in which the 25-year-old nursing student said she was not abducted as the nation was led to believe when she disappeared July 13. Russell said she had not left the Hoover area.

She returned home 49 hours after a call to 911 reporting seeing the child on the interstate.

“My client apologizes for her actions to this community, to the volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well,” the statement said.

The police department is consulting with the district attorney’s office regarding potential criminal charges, according to Derzis.

Racial Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, 6 Injured in Maryland

According to The Associated Press, these neighbors have been feuding for years. Things finally came to an end with three Latino men shot dead, and a white man in custody.

According to the police charging documents, the six people who were shot were attending a large party when a dispute broke out over a parking issue. Mireles went to Smith’s home to talk about it and was arguing with Shirley Smith when her son Charles Smith returned home and confronted him. The verbal argument became physical.

Smith pulled out a gun and Mireles tried to grab it before Smith shot Mireles and Segovia. Smith “then stood over Mario Mireles and shot him several more times,” the document says. Smith then went into his house, got a rifle and began firing through a window at people who had come trying to help the mortally wounded men. Smith fatally shot Nicolas Mireles, and wounded Rosalina Segovia, Paul Johnnson and Enner Canales-Hernandez, police said.

Smith surrendered when the police arrived, telling officers he shot the victims because they shot at his house. However, none of the witnesses interviewed saw any of the victims with a firearm, according to the charging documents.

The Smith and Mireles families have had disputes for years, even going to court for help at one point. Mario Mireles sought a peace order petition in September 2016, accusing Shirley Smith of harassing him and their neighbors since he was a child. He accused her of directing racial slurs at him and his family, as well as other neighbors who are Black.

Frustration Builds: Lawmakers want Answers on UFOs

I’ve never been one to pay attention to the UFO talk. But when top U.S officials, documents and even videos from military pilots became known, it would be ignorant to close your eyes and pretend there’s nothing to see here. More information is definitely needed.

And Congressional members feel the same way and their frustration is palpable.

“My primary interest in this topic is if there are … object[s] operating over restricted air space, it’s not ours and we don’t know whose it is, that’s a problem that we need to get to the bottom of,” said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

“If there’s an explanation for it that’s being kept from Congress, then we need to force the issue. We’re not getting answers,” Rubio told The Hill.

The Senate has adopted an amendment to an annual defense bill that would require the federal government to collect and disclose all records related to UFOs and UAPs unless a special review board determines they must be kept classified.

The amendment was sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), a member of the Senate Armed Services and Intelligence committees and is backed by Rubio and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), the chairwoman of the Armed Services subcommittee on emerging threats, as well as Sens. Todd Young (R-Ind.), a former Marine intelligence officer, and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.).

Getting Elected is Trump’s “Get-out-of-jail-free-Card”

None of my friends have ever been indicted multiple times. As a matter of fact, none of my friends have never been indicted. I would like to think that’s the case for most Americans, but the sad fact is many Americans are getting ready to vote for someone with not one or two, but potentially a third indictment in Georgoa.

Trump has not been convicted of any crime yet, nor is it certain he will be.

But as he faces a potential third criminal indictment, with an additional state-level probe into his actions ongoing in Georgia, the stakes for Trump to win the 2024 election are ratcheting up, with a victory next year perhaps the best way to insulate himself from conviction or jail time.

“It’s a huge factor,” said Sean Walsh, who served in the White House press office in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations.

“At a minimum, if he wins the presidency again then he can say he was vindicated in the public eye,” Walsh said. “No. 2, legally if he is president of the United States, he could potentially pardon himself …Trump’s best bet at getting out of all his legal issues is becoming president again. That’s his get out of jail free card.”

The lines between Trump’s political fortunes and his legal ones are steadily blurring as the cases pile up.

afterall, you are known by the friends you keep.

don’t know of anyone with multiple indictments,

Controversial YouTuber Kevin Samuels Dead at 56

According to reporting by The Hill, the controversial self-described “relationship guru”, Kevin Samuels, has died.

A close personal friend of Samuels, Melanie King, said she received “family confirmation” that the self-described “relationship guru” had died, The Source reported.

Samuels was allegedly found unresponsive in his home, according to BLS. But his death has yet to be officially confirmed.

Samuels was best known for the misogynistic comments towards women, particularly women of color, he made on his channel where he would give out relationship and lifestyle advice.

In April, Samuels sparked social media outrage after calling unmarried women 35 years old and older “leftovers.”

“If you have made it to 35 and you are unmarried, you are a leftover woman…you are what is left. Men know that there is likely something wrong with you whether you want to hear it or not,” said Samuels. “I am telling you the truth that you don’t want to hear. Men know that there is likely something wrong with you—that you can not be an adjustable six or higher—35 and unmarried. Something wrong with you. That’s where men automatically coming at it.”

Woman Wakes Up in Coffin at her Funeral

This could very well be in an episode of The Walking Dead, but this incident is not a television show. This really happened in Peru.

Funeral attendees recently got the shock of a lifetime when a person on the verge of being buried suddenly woke up.

Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca was reportedly being buried on April 26 when, in the midst of a funeral procession in Peru, mourners carrying her coffin heard a strange knocking sound from inside the coffin.

It was Callaca, who was actually alive and found to be gasping for air when the coffin was placed on the ground.

“(She) opened her eyes and was sweating,” Juan Segundo Cajo, the caretaker of the cemetery, described the scene. “I immediately went to my office and called the police.”

Metro U.K. reported that after Callaca observed everyone at her own funeral, her family rushed her to Referential Hospital Ferrenafe for care. Doctors had difficulty finding signs of life, immediately putting her on life support until she died a few hours later.

D.L Hughley Says Pete Davidson is Antagonizing Kanye

Comedian D.L Hugley wasn’t joking around in a recent interview with TMZ, telling the media outlet that a new tatoo on Pete Devidson’s neck, “KNSCP” is antagonizing to Kanye because the letters apparently represents the first letter in Kim’s name, along with the children she had with Kanye West – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

“It’s his body, it’s his woman, those are Kanye’s kids,” Hughley said. “That would piss me off. If you put my kids—and I got my kids tattooed on me—but if you did that…look, look, they’ll always be mine. I don’t know what happened with that situation, but they’ll always be my children. And now, to me, the father’s alive, he’s a good father, he’s taking care of his kids, I don’t understand what that is all about. It’s none of my business but if you tattooed my kids on your neck, I’d have something to say about it.”

Hughley elaborated that when you “do things like that, it’s trouble for you.”

“Nobody’s telling you [that] you can’t live your life,” he said. “That’s your woman, you’re having a good time. But you’re putting that man’s kids on your neck, that’s antagonizing. That’s out of pocket to me.”
