Facebook can get you fired. April Sims, a 911 operator in Dallas, was apparently unaware of the ramifications of social media when she ranted about Black people being “crazy,” and “animals.”
Based on her posts, Sims talking about her experience at work. “Black people are outrageous! They are more like animals,” she wrote. “They never know how to act, just loud. Always causing problems. I can count on 1 hand the black people I know who don’t have s— for brains!!!”
What else irritated her about Black people? The fact that they call 911 for stupid reasons.
“You want to call 911 cause you boyfriend put his hands on you and you want to press charges when you don’t even know his real name?! Sure lets make a police report for Dino, that is his street name.”
A Long Beach doctor said he’s created a weight-loss procedure where a patch of mesh is sewn into the tongue.
Dr. Nicholas Chugay told Medstar Television — a news subscription service that NBC LA subscribes to — that there are only a few physicians who offer this procedure. He charges $1,500, plus $200 a month for a supply of liquid nutrition formula.
First, the tongue is injected with a local anesthetic, then the mesh is sewn into the top front of the tongue.
The patch makes “chewing of solid foods very difficult and painful, limiting the patient to a liquid diet,” according to the doctor’s website.
As of yet, there are no comparative or long-term studies on the procedure, but Chugay claims his patients may lose up to 25 pounds with the patch, which can be removed and then replaced at a later date.
“Your tongue does feel like if you want to chew, it’ll get stuck, so you won’t be able to eat it,” said Erica Renteria.
Renteria, who had the patch in for three weeks, said it helped her shed pounds. She had it removed but plans to have another patch sewn into her tongue in the near future

An innocent ad for heart-healthy Cheerios has sparked an onslaught of disturbing racist backlash on the Internet.
The cereal brand was forced to pull comments from its YouTube page after a cereal commercial featuring an interracial family reportedly prompted a string of messages about Nazis, racial genocide and viewers so disgusted they “want to vomit.”
The half-minute ad — which has more than 250,000 views — shows a young girl chatting about Cheerios with her Caucasian mother, and later pans to her black father. While the spot garnered an unusual amount of racist criticism, General Mills-owned Cheerios said the buzz wasn’t all negative.
“Consumers have responded positively to our new Cheerios ad,” Camille Gibson, the cereal brand’s vice president of marketing, told the Daily News in a statement.
“At Cheerios, we know there are many kinds of families and we celebrate them all,” she said.
Support from Cheerio fans showed up on Facebook.
“Having been mixed in the 70s, I’d like to thank everyone at Cheerios for making a commercial with an interracial couple!” Beschelle Lockhart wrote. “Going to buy boxes today! Many thanks for reflecting what my family looked like.”
Nestlé CEO Peter Brabeck made some news this year when he declared that water is a food that should be privatized, then went further by claiming that human beings should not be entitled to getting the life saving commodity. Firefighters in eastern China have rescued an abandoned newborn baby boy lodged in a sewage pipe.
The infant was stuck in a pipe directly beneath a toilet commode, state television reported, in a case which has sparked anger on social media sites.
There are frequent reports in Chinese media of babies being abandoned, often shortly after birth.

Firefighters received a call from a landlady of a block of flats saying that she thought a baby was trapped in a toilet pipe in the building as she had heard it crying
The problem is attributed variously to young mothers unaware they were pregnant, the birth of an unwanted girl in a society which puts greater value on boys or China’s strict family planning rules.In the latest case the infant was found in the sewage pipe in a residential building in Jinhua in the wealthy coastal province of Zhejiang on Saturday afternoon.
The harrowing discovery came after residents reported the sound of a baby crying, state television said late on Monday.
The pipe was just four inches wide in diameter the China Daily newspaper said, according to the BBC.
Firefighters had to remove the pipe and take it to a nearby hospital, where doctors carefully cut around it to rescue the baby boy inside, the report said.

Christian Ferdinand, of Limestone, Maine, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder in the death of Shaniesha Forbes. The student at the Academy for Young Writers in Williamsburg disappeared two days before her body was found face up on the beach, with burns to her legs, arms and hands.
Ferdinand allegedly told detectives he exchanged phone numbers with Forbes in December after meeting her through Facebook. Over the next month, the two developed a relationship and had unprotected sex multiple times, sources say Ferdinand told police.
Ferdinand said he met Forbes on Jan. 4 at his cousin’s apartment on Nostrand Avenue and she told him she was pregnant. They argued, and Ferdinand told detectives he killed Forbes, brought her body to the roof and hid it for a day before transporting it to Gerritsen Beach in a suitcase and setting her on fire, using Axe body spray as an accelerent.
The medical examiner has found no indication Forbes was pregnant, sources familiar with the investigation said.
Law enforcement sources say police recovered the suitcase Ferdinand said he used to transport her body.
A law enforcement official previously told NBC 4 New York investigators had found a kerosene can and signs of a bonfire near where Forbes’ body was found.
A review of Forbes’ cell phone and Facebook information helped lead authorities to Ferdinand, law enforcement sources said. Police said Ferdinand had no prior record in New York.
A man reported to be a British soldier was killed and two others were shot in London today in an attack that is being treated as an act of terrorism, NBC News reports.
Video from ITV News shows one of two alleged attackers, with blood-stained hands and holding a machete, explaining the motivation for the crime. In it, he says, “We swear by Almighty Allah, we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. The only reasons we killed this man is because Muslims are dying daily. This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. We apologize that woman had to see this today, but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.”
Apparently, Michele Bachmann is starting to believe the crap she’s been spewing over the last few years. And that is really sad.
She began her Obama hating journey by willfully and intentionally lying to the public about Democrats and anything Obama. Like when she said that Congress was filled with “anti-American” legislatures, and begged for the media to do a “penetrating expose” to find out which member of Congress is “for America, or anti-America.”
An outrageous claim indeed, and I’m sure Bachmann knew the claim was bogus when she made it. But back then, it was an intentional lie told for the only reason – ginning up the crazies who voted for her and those who followed her. And over the years following that claim, Bachmann has continued her intentional lying, each occasion getting more and more outrageous.
But the crazies who followed her were not the only ones listening. Bachmann slowly began attracting the attention of the nation as sane, normal people started marvelling at the absurdity that is… Michele Bachmann. And the rest of the nation began tuning her out. Everyone knew what Bachmann was about and they expected nothing more than lies.
Bachmann however, has taken a turn for the worst and I’m really concern. I’m starting to think that she is beginning to believe her lies, her nonsense. What else am I to think when I hear Michele invoke God into her daily political jargon?
Yes, Michele has used God in previous statements…claims… lies… She was one of the Republicans who said that God told her to run for President. She lost, so I’m not sure if God was the one advising her, but her most recent reference to God really got me thinking that Bachmann has now officially fell off the turnip truck and bumped her head on the way down.
Michele was giving her usual speech on Tuesday and in her effort to convince everyone that they don’t need ObamaCare, Bachmann claimed that God will work a miracle and ObamaCare will magically disappear.
“I think the President will ultimately be forced to repudiate his own signature piece of legislation because the American people will demand it,” she explained. “And I think before his second term is over, we’re going to see a miracle before our eyes, I believe God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare.”
“I believe that’s going to happen and we saw step one last week with the repeal of Obamacare in the House. We have two more steps. We serve a mighty God and I believe it can happen.”

Fringe right-wing radio host Pete Santilli made disturbing comments about Hillary Clinton last week, calling for sexual violence against the former secretary of state because of her alleged involvement in a bizarre conspiracy theory.
“Miss Hillary Clinton needs to be convicted, she needs to be tried, convicted and shot in the vagina,” he said. “I wanna pull the trigger. That ‘C U Next Tuesday’ has killed human beings that are in our ranks of our service.”
Santilli alleged Clinton was involved in drug trafficking in Arkansas and the killing of U.S. troops overseas.
“I want to shoot her right in the vagina and I don’t want her to die right away,” he added. “I want her to feel the pain and I want to look her in the eyes and I want to say, on behalf of all Americans that you’ve killed, on behalf of the Navy SEALS, the families of Navy SEAL Team Six who were involved in the fake hunt down of this Obama, Obama bin Laden thing.
“That whole fake scenario, because these Navy SEALS know the truth, they killed them all. On behalf of all of those people, I’m supporting our troops by saying we need to try, convict, and shoot Hillary Clinton in the vagina.”
The remarks were first reported by Right Wing Watch, which said it began monitoring Santilli after National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent and Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt appeared on his online radio program.
On his website, Santilli specifically claims that he is not a conspiracy theorist and that he is not crazy.
A 2-year-old boy in North Carolina is expected to survive after shooting himself with his father’s gun over the weekend.
Randolph County deputies said that the toddler found the handgun in his parents’ room at their home just outside Asheboro around 2 p.m. on Saturday. The boy put the gun in his mouth and fired it.
According to WGHP, the boy was listed in critical condition Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem on Sunday, but was expected to live.
“The bullet missed all the vital arteries there in the neck in the head and also missed the spinal cords, so I said it’s a miracle the child is still with us,” Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Captain Derrick Hill explained to WGHP.
A neighbor told the station that “the good Lord was looking after him.”
The sheriff’s and district attorney’s offices were considering whether to charge the parents with leaving the firearm unattended.
Updated Friday, May 17, 9:05 a.m. EDT: After Akein Scott, 19, was arrested Wednesday night, his brother Shawn Scott, 24, was arrested on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reports. Four other people have been arrested for allegedly harboring the fugitives during an intense manhunt, officials said Thursday.

The Associated Press is reporting that 19-year-old Akein Scott, the suspect in the New Orleans Mother’s Day parade shooting that wounded 19 people, faces 20 charges of attempted second-degree murder.
Out on bond at the time he committed the crime, he was arrested Wednesday night in New Orleans. Scott was already facing a charge of gun and drug possession.
Police have not established a motive and haven’t said whether they know the identity of the shooter’s target. Officials initially said three people were spotted running away from the shooting scene, but Scott has been the only suspect identified publicly.
Investigators launched an intense search for Scott, with police Superintendent Ronal Serpas urging him to surrender at a news conference Monday and warning the teen that “we know more about you than you think we know.” At one point, SWAT team members and U.S. marshals served a search warrant at one location but did not find Scott.
Police offered a $10,000 reward in the case, and investigators received several tips after images from the surveillance camera were released.

A woman has been killed after her new assault rifle which she was showing to her friends fired – shooting her in the head.
Gun enthusiast Anastasia Adair, 22, was walking down the stairs and into the garage in her home in Federal Heights, Colorado, when she reached out to hand the rifle to her husband.
The gun, believed to look like an AK-47, fired, hitting her in the head on Tuesday at about 10.40pm local time.
Husband Shane Adair, a tattoo artist, told police he is not sure if he touched the gun as his wife handed it to him, according to Federal Heights Police Lt. Gary Toldness.
The gun is believed to have fired another shot as Mrs Adair fell down the stairs and into her husband’s arms.
