Pastor Terry Jones Arrested – Kerosene Soaked Korans in His Truck

Controversial Gainesville Pastor Terry Jones, known for his plans to publicly burn copies of the Muslim holy book, was arrested Wednesday with thousands of kerosene-soaked Qurans, authorities said.

Jones, 61, was arrested on felony charges after a traffic stop near a pharmacy in Mulberry, a small town in Polk County, just before 5 p.m. He faces charges of unlawfully transporting fuel and openly carrying a firearm.

Deputies said Jones was riding in a pickup truck that was towing a smoker and trailer filled with kerosene-soaked Qurans. He also had extra bottles of kerosene inside the truck bed.

According to Jones’ website, he planned to burn 2,998 Qurans in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday. He was arrested along with Associate Pastor Marvin Sapp.

Sapp’s pickup truck was seized. He also was charged with unlawfully transporting fuel and was cited for improper lighting on the trailer.

Pope Will Drive Himself Around in Used 1984 Car

The car ia a Renault 4 and has already logged over 190,000 miles. What will happen to the Holy one if the car breaks down on the highway in the middle of rush hour traffic, and a tow truck is no where to be found?

The sweet wheels have already logged 190,000 miles on the road. It’s a second hand gift from a northern Italian priest who used the car to visit his poor parishioners, Famiglia Cristiana reports.

The 70-year-old priest, Rev. Renzo Zocco from Verona, sent Pope Francis some fan mail earlier this year, pledging his support and offering up his car. In true Francis fashion, the leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics called Zocco’s cell phone in August for a quick chat.

At first, Francis was reluctant to accept the gift, thinking that it should be given to the poor. But Zocco reassured him that the car would serve as a testimony to the work that the priest had done in the working-class neighborhoods of Verona. Plus, he already had a replacement.

Zocco and about 100 of his parishioners from the church of Santa Lucia di Pescantina piled into a bus and headed for Rome. The pilgrims rolled up to the Vatican on Saturday with the 25-year-old car on a tow truck.

The white car had been fitted with a new 800 cc. 30-horse power engine. It uses a French stick shift that folds out from the dashboard and deck-chair-style seats, ABC reports.

Adolf Hitler to Lose Honorary Citizen Title in German Town

Adolf Hitler will lose his honorary citizen’s title in Goslar, Germany, the latest town to distance itself from the former Nazi leader, officials said Wednesday.

The northern town’s council adopted a motion Tuesday to drop Hitler as an honorary citizen, town spokesman Christian Burgart told AFP.

Town councillors from the far-left Die Linke party initiated the move, which must still be formally confirmed by Goslar’s administrative council on October 29, he said.

Local leaders had earlier argued that since Hitler died in 1945 he no longer held the honorific title bestowed in 1934, Burgart said.

Nevertheless, town authorities wanted to “double up the legal aspect with a symbolic act”, he said.

Goslar — a town in northern Lower Saxony state and home to 42,000 — is the birthplace of Sigmar Gabriel, the leader of the opposition Social Democrats

Kanye West Responds to Ray J’s “I Hit It First”

Ray J came out with his “I Hit it First” song, definitely at slap at Kim Kardashian,  Kanye West’s baby mama.
One of the lines from the song says,
“She might move on to rappers and ballplayers, but we all know I hit it first,” Ray J sang. “But now baby chose to go West.”

Everyone expected West to respond, but he never did and the one sided feud quickly died down.

Months later, West made a trip to a late night talk show and performed a rap song questioning Ray J’s manhood. In fact, West referred to Ray J as “Brandy’s little sister.”

Black Racist Attack in New York Leaves White Man Dead

A man has died after being knocked to the ground with a single punch by a stranger in a New York City square.

Jeffrey Babbitt, 62, had been left brain damaged after being punched in Union Square last week in an apparent racist attack.

Mr Babbitt died after allegedly being hit by Lashawn Marten, a 31-year-old African American, who reportedly said that he wanted to attack the next white person who walked by.

The 62-year-old, the sole carer of his 92-year-old mother Hedda, was hit so hard that he fell to the ground but later managed to stand. His condition deteriorated soon afterwards and he died at Bellevue Hospital.

Marten, who has a previous criminal record and uses various aliases, was charged with assault and is due in a Manhattan court on Tuesday. It is likely his charges will now be upgraded.

According to one female witness last week, Marten said: ‘The next white person who walks by I’m going to f***’.

She added: ‘His fist went in and the man’s head bobbed and he hit the ground and you could hear his skull hitting the ground.’

After his racist rant and attack, witnesses said Marten stayed at the park and waited for police to arrive.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Marten’s alleged comments about targeting white people before allegedly punching Mr Babbitt could lead to hate crime charges being made against him.

‘Our Hate Crimes Task Force is involved in aspects of that case,’ he added.

Marten is being held on a $1 million bond as police decide whether to also charge him with a hate crime.

Shellie Zimmerman Calls 911 – George is “threatening all of us with his firearm”

George Zimmerman’s wife has called police to her father’s house, saying the former neighborhood watch volunteer who was acquitted of murder threatened her with a gun.

Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell says Shellie Zimmerman called police shortly after 2 p.m. Monday from her father’s house on Spurcewood Road.

In the call, Shellie Zimmerman told dispatchers that George Zimmerman was sitting in his car with his hand on his gun.

“He’s just threatening all of us with his firearm,” she said. “He punched my dad in the nose. My dad has a mark on his face.”

Shellie Zimmerman said her estranged husband then took her iPad and smashed it.

“There’s a Lake Mary’s city worker across the street who I think saw all of it,” she added.

Bracknell says Zimmerman hasn’t been arrested and officers are at the house trying to determine what happened.

Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce last week. In the divorce petition, Shellie Zimmerman says she and her husband separated a month after Zimmerman was acquitted of any crime for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin.

Since being acquitted, George Zimmerman has been pulled over twice for speeding. His acquittal led to protests nationwide.

Dr. Phil’s Child Therapist Charged with Child Abuse

She has appeared on the Dr. Phil Show as an expert in her field. But now, Karen Corcoran Walsh has been arrested for doing what she was trained not to do – child abuse and neglect.

Karen Corcoran Walsh is alleged to have left her 11-year-old step daughter home alone after storming out of her Florida home following an argument with her husband.

When contacted on the phone she is alleged to have refused to return to the house to take care of the child telling a security guard to call the girl’s father.

Walsh, who runs the Inspiration for Youth and Families Center which helps teens addicted to drugs, was arrested on child abuse charges.

The 51-year-old later told local media she was the victim of wrongful arrest and her lawyer said he hoped the charge would be dropped.

According to a police report the incident began after Walsh and her husband Christopher had an argument at their home.

During the row Walsh broke her husband’s cell phone and told him to leave the house. After he left, Walsh also walked out leaving her step daughter alone in the gated community.

The arrest report said the girl was ‘scared, when she walked out of the bedroom to find herself home alone.

‘She had no cell phone, no house phone, no house key or no note left saying where her mother had left to. (The girl) explained she left the home unlocked and proceeded to walk down the road to the guard gate barefoot. The road was very dark and unsafe for a child to walk at night alone.’

The guard called Boca Raton Police who located Karen Walsh and placed her under arrest – charging her with ‘Neglect of a Child.’

Walsh later posted $3,000 bond

Missouri Man May Have Infected Over 300 People With HIV

A Missouri man has been arrested and charged with “reckless exposure to HIV” after he admitted to having unprotected sex with up to 300 people without disclosing his HIV status, triggering alarm among health officials.

David Lee Mangum, 36, was arrested in Dexter, Mo., on Aug. 27 after his former live-in lover came forward to Dexter police to file a complaint that Mangum had knowingly infected him with HIV. The alleged victim, 28, identified in the complaint as D.B., said that he tested positive for HIV in July of this year, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Stoddard County court by Det. Cory Mills.

Mangum was arraigned today, but did not enter a plea. A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 26, a representative for Stoddard County court told ABCNews.com. Bond was set by Judge Stephen Mitchell at $250,000.

Mangum could face a life sentence if convicted. A public defender appointed to Mangum’s case did not immediately return calls placed by ABCNews.com.

Black Woman Awarded $280,000 Because Her Boss Used the ‘N’ Word

(AP) — The lawyer for a black U.S. woman whose claim against a black boss’s N-word rant brought a $280,000 jury award says she hopes the case teaches society something.

“It’s the most offensive word in the English language,” attorney Marjorie M. Sharpe said Tuesday.

A jury sided with 38-year-old Brandi Johnson against the boss, Rob Carmona, in a case that explored a word that is a degrading slur when spoken by whites but at times is used affectionately among blacks, even in the workplace.

Johnson said she hopes the word now “won’t be tolerated no matter what your race is.”

Carmona, a 61-year-old black man of Puerto Rican descent, had testified that he was dispensing tough love. “I come from a different time,” he said in court Tuesday.

He had tried to defend his use of the word, saying it had “multiple contexts” in the black and Latino communities, sometimes indicating anger, sometimes love.

Johnson had recorded his March 2012 tirade about inappropriate workplace attire and unprofessional behavior, and it was played for the jury.

She said she cried for 45 minutes in the restroom afterward.

“I was offended. I was hurt. I felt degraded. I felt disrespected. I was embarrassed,” Johnson testified.

In a statement, the organization Carmona founded, STRIVE East Harlem, said it was disappointed but was exploring options, including an appeal.

Man Raped Woman who has HIV

An English man is literally shaking in prison awaiting test results to see if he contracted the HIV virus from woman he raped in her bed after breaking into her home in the middle of the night.

A man who was put behind bars today for forced sex faces an agonizing wait to find out if he has caught HIV from his victim.

Richard Thomas, 27, collapsed when police informed him about the woman’s medical status and is still waiting to hear if he has contracted the incurable virus.

… His barrister, Virginia Hayton, said that he still cannot recall the attack but when told about it he said that the woman “would not lie, she tells the truth. If she says I have done it, I have done it.”

One Year Old Shot In Head and Killed In Brooklyn

This is not a political story, but I can’t help but think that Republicans and the NRA would maintain their same ole lame story – guns are not a problem.

A 1-year-old Brooklyn boy was killed by a bullet that had his father’s name on it, police sources said.

Antiq Hennis was nestled in his stroller Sunday night, just inches from his parents, when the shot pierced his head just a block from the family’s Riverdale Ave. home, cops and witnesses said.

The child’s father Anthony Hennis — the intended target, according to law enforcement sources and family members — was unharmed but distraught after the bullets started flying at Bristol St. near Livonia Ave. in Brownsville at 7:20 p.m.

“He was screaming ‘My baby got shot.’ He was going crazy,” said Gina Gamboa, 22, who saw the dad seconds after Antiq was mortally wounded. “The baby was breathing, but his eyes were closed. It’s crazy. They just will start shooting.”

At least four shots rang out. The tragic tot was the only person hit.

Little Antiq was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital with a bullet hole in the left side of his head, cops said.

He died at the hospital shortly before 9 p.m.

“He just started walking. He was vibrant. He was full of life,” said the baby’s great-uncle, Chris Dobson. “I can’t believe it.”
