Scandal: 10 Reasons Why I Loved the Season Finale

Now, I know if you’re a Scandal fan, I don’t have to ask if you saw the Season Finale last night, “White Hats Back On”. Last night, Scandal delivered in so many ways and left us with a OMG..WTF?? cliffhanger that would undoubtedly keep us coming back for more in Season 3.

So let’s hit on some key characters and WOW moments from last night’s Season Finale.

1) Billy Chambers – We should have learned from the classic soap operas, that if we don’t see a dead body, then we we can never assume that the character is ‘really most sincerely dead‘. So, Billy Chambers came ready to inflict some comeuppance on the people who ‘destroyed’ his life and turned him into a murderer (so he says). And he’s partnered up with Mr. White Hat himself, David Rosen?? Can’t be! I really can’t deal with this betrayal from David. More on that Later…

2) Quinn – Wow, we have baby Huck on our heads now. While Huck is recuperating and transitioning away from his torturing days, here comes Quinn to pick up right where he left off. Of course this sent Huck right back into his little scary “752” corner. Not good.

3) Governor Reston – I guess he’s still mad that he scandalously lost the election 4 years ago. The Governor has gone so far as to join forces with the murdering and undead Billy Chambers in attempts to blackmail President Grant so that he can be on the ticket for the next election. Power is one helluva drug.

4) Jake – I just don’t know how to feel about this guy. A part of me loves this character because he has become so devoted to Olivia, but I also despise him a little because he is a serious threat to my Olitz. I’m so confused and conflicted. Damn you, Shonda!!! Anyways, as expected, he saves Olivia’s life (again) while putting his own life on the line and putting himself into that tiny hole of torture. Just find a happy place, Jake.

5) Mellie – Girlfriend is the true definition of a woman scorned and I can sympathized with her desire to win here, but the biggest problem most of us have with her plight is that she doesn’t love Fitz; She only loves the power that comes with him and just winning. Yet, I must give props to Bellamy Young who plays this character to the tee. You just love to hate her.

6) President Grant – Oh man, I was feeling me some Fitz last night. Taking ownership and control of the Defiance group who got him in this mess to begin with, putting Mellie in her place, and never wavering from his decision of choosing Olivia to become his First Lady. His speech to Mellie while in the hospital was deliciously good. But really Fitz, putting your head in Mellie’s lap ever so gently and humbly?? I can’t drink this Kool-Aid for one second. Nope.

7) Cyrus Beene – I’m telling you, Jeff Perry needs a nomination for his acting on this show. The escalation of earnest and desperation which ultimately leads to Cyrus’ heart attack was acted so perfectly! No surprise that even with a failed heart, he is still gunning full-steam ahead. Cyrus just doesn’t stop until the job gets done because he is ‘the only grownup in the room.’ But, I was relieved that he didn’t betray his friends, except for that sex-tape part and the ‘your boyfriend is a murderer‘ part. Not cool, Cy. Not cool.

8) David Rosen – This one had my head tripping from last week when we saw him exchange evil trade-offs with Billy Chambers and last night, we continued to see how he was playing Olivia Pope and her associates to gain access to the Cytron card. But, I should have known better. David Rosen stays true to his character. He loves truth and justice and the reveal of how and why he was really in cahoots with Bill Chambers was so so satisfying. Now, my David is US Attorney and well-deserved my friend. Brilliant chess game. Just Brilliant. White hats all around!

9) Olivia Pope – What??? Fitz finally gives you everything you have been dreaming and hoping for and you give it all up. What??? I mean I know this had to happen to ensure more Olitz longing and fascination for next season, but it was still hard to witness, especially that Fitz on his knees and in Mellie’s lap thing. Yes, I’m still talking about it!! And now Olivia Pope’s face is going to be all over the news, tabloids, blogs, etc… I’m stressed just thinking about it.

10) Dad??? – Yesssss, I know most of us reacted with the the ‘Are you **** kidding me??, Huh??, OMG!!, What the h…?! You know, any variations of those reactions were fitting here. I did not see that coming. AT. ALL. So many questions now. Did Daddy Pope try to get her killed? Did he leak her name out to the press as the mistress? Does his daughter even know that he is in charge of B613? What is going on??

Overall, fantastic episode and once I think I have it all figured it, I realize that I don’t know what in the Olivia Pope’s name is going on!! Sigh, I love this show, and I can’t wait for more.

Jaime Foxx Working On Scripted Series Based on Relationship with his Daughter

Jamie Foxx and TNT have decided to turn the pair’s father-daughter relationship into a new scripted series for the network.

The new show will be titled “Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me,” and will follow this premise:

Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way? Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his 18-year-old daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.

Jamie Foxx will executive produce and handle scripting along with a couple other people, which means he’ll likely be completely off-screen rather than in front of it as we usually see. And even though the show is only based on Jamie’s relationship with his daughter.

Zoe Saldana Confirms Her Bisexuality

     
Zoe Saldana is open to finding love, whether it’s with a man or woman.The Star Trek Into Darkness star raised a few eyebrows when she revealed that she may “end up with a woman raising my children,” in the June issue of Allure magazine.

“That’s how androgynous I am”

The 34-year-old went on to say that when she finds love again she won’t second guess it. “If I have something good in front of me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a person or a pair of shoes, I’m not going to test something else”

O.J. Testifies In Kidnapping Case, Continues To Live In Utter Delusion

O.J. Simpson is not interested in taking responsibility for anything. For the first time ever, the former football star took the stand to defend himself in court, this time for a kidnapping incident that could keep him locked up for as many as 33 years.

As expected, Simpson broke his silence Wednesday (May 15), on day three of a five-day hearing, the end result of which may get him a new trial. Proceedings are currently going on.

The 65-year-old claims attorney Yale Galantar encouraged him to burst into a Las Vegas hotel room alongside a crew of gun-carrying cohorts to recoup memorabilia, from a pair of sports collectors.

Recounting the 2007 incident at the Palace Hotel, Simpson said he was drunk and unaware that weapons would be involved. “I would not have imagined in my wildest dreams that these guys would have guns.” Instead, the father of four stood in shock in the hotel room. “I was kind of stunned,” he continued. “I was looking at stuff I hadn’t seen in 10 years.”

Furthermore, the Bay Area native explained that the collectibles were personal property, not included in items seized to cover a $33.5 million civil suit brought against him by the families of his slain wife and her friend.

Simpson has a reputation for eluding the stand. He passed on testifying during his murder trial over the deaths of the aforementioned spouse, and companion; and once more five years ago during his kidnapping trial.

Pending the outcome of this current hearing Simpson is likely to serve the five more years needed, before he is eligible for parole.

Kourtney Kardashian Paternity Drama

 

Model Michael Girgenti has long claimed that he, not Scott Disick, is the true father of Kourtney Kardashian‘s son Mason — and he tells Star magazine that he wrote Kourtney a letter demanding that she get a DNA test for the toddler — or he’ll sue.

“This is Kourtney’s last chance,” Michael told the magazine in their latest issue.

“My next step will be to take her to court and sue her for apaternity test.

I’m tired of not knowing if Mason is my child, and I want the constant wondering to end.”

Jaden Smith Wants To Be Emancipated From Will & Jada

While most teenagers are hoping for a car, an iPad, new clothes or a pair of shoes for their birthday, Jaden Smith–son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith who are two of the biggest movie stars in the world–wants something a little different.

What do you get the teen that’s already starred in more than one film, traveled the world and has more money at the age of 14 then some of us have at 24?

Jaden’s only request for his 15th birthday is to be emancipated from his parents and live on his own!

Cee Lo Green To Star In New Reality Series On TBS

When Cee Lo Green announced he was leaving NBC’s “The Voice” to pursue other opportunities, we had no idea he was heading to the wonderful world of reality TV.

“This new TBS series will give viewers the chance to get to know Cee Lo Green, who is without a doubt one of the hardest working men in show business,” he said. “With his distinctive voice, winning personality and remarkable ability to tap into a wide range of musical styles, Cee Lo Green has risen to the top of the music industry.”

The six-episode season is scheduled to premiere in 2014.

Between The Rock and A Hard Place

Call it “fake”, call it whatever you’d like; I use to love to watch wrestling and have known Dwayne Johnson before he hit the silver screen as one of the all time greats, “The Rock”. From the start of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1996 to the Attitude Era in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was a wrestling superstar. Every time he’d enter and make his way to the ring the crowds would be cheering and going crazy. Throughout his Wrestling career he’d gain such nicknames as “The People’s Champion” , rack up 17 championship reigns, and win the 2000 Royal Rumble. Sadly though The Rock would take a prolonged hiatus from wrestling in 2004 to break onto the big screen.

Dwayne Johnson’s first major role

Dwayne Johnson’s first major role came as the Scorpion King in 2002; continuing on from his initial success from there he had a lead role in The Game Plan (2007), a part in Get Smart (2008),  the lead in The Tooth Fairy (2010), a part in The Race To Witch Mountain (2009), a role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), Snitch (2013), and G.I Joe: Retaliation (2013). Probably Johnson’s most popular role has been his appearance in the famed Fast and Furious film series, as he appeared in Fast Five and has been confirmed for Fast and Furious 7. Off the silver screen, he has also had plenty of success on television judging by his numerous appearances on shows from Cory in the House to his newest reality/game show on TNT, The Hero. To say he’s been successful in pursing acting is a drastic understatement. Yet, Dwayne returned to where he started…wrestling.

“If ya smell…What The Rock, is cooking!”

The Rock made his long-awaited return to wrestling as the host of WrestleMania XXVII, appearing on the show Raw for the first time in seven years. From that one return The Rock would soon return to the ring and headline WrestleMaina XXVIII and the following one as well. Adding to his much hyped return from his long absence, The Rock won the WWE Championship and would reign for 70 days until he lost it again. This past April 7th, The Rock wrestled what may have been his last match, as he as yet to return to the ring citing an injury he suffered from WrestleMania. While I do love seeing him perform on the silver screen and on my TV, perhaps it is best now that The Rock retires for good from wrestling. There is no need to risk any further injury as he legacy has been engraved in stone.

I’d just like to say now though; Thank you Dwayne Johnson for entertaining me when I went to the movies. Lastly, Thank you The Rock for entertaining me and the wrestling world and for more importantly living up to your nickname, “The Most Eletrifiying Man in All of Entertainment.“

New Caribbean Lifestyle TV Series “Island Origins” To Premiere In 2013

Island Origins is a new 30 minute lifestyle TV program aiming to change that with high-end production and universally appealing content. The show, Executive Produced and hosted by Calibe Thompson of Blondie Ras Productions, will take a lighthearted look at how Caribbean people and culture have reached beyond the islands to influence the wider world. Miss Thompson recently released the 7 minute promotional demo reel and looks forward to distribution throughout the US, Canada, the UK, Africa, the Caribbean and theDiaspora. Island Origins is being prepared for its television debut in the third quarter of 2013.

Island Origins is intended for a broad “lifestyle” audience, irrespective of cultural boundaries. The TV show which will be shot in high definition and with vibrant color, is an inclusive endeavor and will feature influencers of note from the English and Spanish speaking Caribbean, as well as Haiti. Guests will hail from the worlds of food, fashion, art, dance, sports, politics, business, social activism, hospitality and any other subject matter that may appeal to a broad audience.

Each episode will be formatted in 3 segments. The first will focus on the Everyday Extraordinary people and businesses who are so enmeshed in our lives that even though we may not know their names or faces, we have been reached by their efforts. The second segment will focus on Island Spice. Here, we’ll visit with culinarians of Caribbean descent whose signature cuisine incorporates elements of the islands like sweet mangos, spicy jerk or savory coconut. Each episode’s final segment will feature a conversation with a Caribbean person or group who has achieved celebrity status, and will share the Back Stories of how they got where they are. The TV show will also include quick snippets with special mention of people or outfits who may not have been incorporated in a full-blown segment, but whose stories the show would like to highlight.

Miss Thompson offers, “The more I learn about Caribbean people, the prouder I am of our culture. Colin Powell, Eric Holder, Jenna Wolfe, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lenny Kravitz – these are some names I never knew had a Caribbean connection, yet they’ve been such a huge influence to so many people. Selita Ebanks to Premire Reality Show on Style Network

Caymanian fashion model Selita Ebanks is joining the world of reality TV, as her personal life and career will be chronicled for the Style network.

The show will be called Selita; the reality show follows Ebanks as she begins a new phase in her life and career at 30.
She recently ended her two-year relationship with former 106 & Park host and current E! News hostTerrence J. As she picks up the pieces from her relationship, she’s looking to expand her brand to include a clothing line.Ebanks’ show is one of nine that will premier on Style network this year future. Barbados native Rihanna will also be premiering her show Styled to Rock, which will feature 12 handpicked aspiring fashion designers the chance to create fashion pieces for celebrities.

More Webseries Worth Watching

 Unfortunately there wasn’t enough room in my previous piece about Webseries Worth Watching to include all of my favorite online shows. The internet is full of limitless entertaining programs available for your viewing whenever you find the time. Here are a few more of my favorite webseries.

1. Husbands

Husbands takes place in a sci-fi world, where  gay marriage is nationally recognized and there are out of the closet openly gay pro-athletes. If that type of mythical universe doesn’t seem too implausible to comprehend then Husbands is perfect for viewing . The show follows Brady, a freshly out of the closet pro-baseball player, and his new husband Cheeks, who’s an unapologetically flamboyant gay TV star. Brady and Cheeks find themselves married after a drunken night in Vegas and that’s where the show kicks off. The episodes are super short, but every second is amazing. Husbands was created by acclaimed producer/writer Jane Epenson and Brad “Cheeks” Bell who’s also one of the stars of the show. and features tons of celebrity cameos. Husbands has already completed 2 seasons, and episodes are available for viewing on their website or on YouTube.

2. Old Dogs & New Tricks

Old Dogs & New Tricks takes the basic format of 4 best friends with uniquely different personalities and follows their dating lives. Where as most gay shows focus on beautiful young guys, Old Dogs & New Tricks focuses on all 40+ aged gays. It gives a perspective on what it’s like to accept aging as a gay man, but still being active, sexual, desirable, and not letting age hindering happiness and finding love. The season 2 finale of Old Dogs & New Tricks is next week, but there’s plenty of time to get caught up on the series. All episodes from both seasons are available on YouTube.

3. Gay’s Anatomy

As you can probably tell from the title, Gay’s Anatomy is a bit of a parody to Grey’s Anatomy. Just without the network TV budget and most of the characters are gay, bi, or  unknown. Gay’s Anatomy follows a bunch of fresh out of med school residents as they begin their medical careers. Hilarious antics and drama ensues when a bunch of doctors get together inside and outside of the hospital. Gay’s Anatomy has already completed 2 seasons, and all episodes are available for viewing on their website and YouTube.

As more and more shows approach their season/series finale, you’ll need something new to watch. Get online and watch some webseries! You definitely won’t regret any of my suggestions.
