Atlanta, Georgia – A young boy’s love of gospel music may have saved his life.
Earlier this month, police say a man kidnapped then nine-year-old Willie Myrick from his southwest Atlanta driveway.
He allegedly drove the boy around for some time before dropping him off unharmed in East Point.
But Willie’s actions during those terrifying three hours are inspiring people around the country.
Willie says he sang the gospel song “Every Praise” until the man let him go.
Thursday evening, community leaders held a meeting in Willie’s honor, celebrating his happy ending, but also telling other parents and children what to do if this happens to them.
In front of a crowded sanctuary at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Willie recounted the moment he was freed from the car. Willie said while he was singing, the man kept cursing and telling him to shut up before eventually kicking him out.
TMZ broke the story Johnson — aka Christ Bearer — cut his penis off Wednesday morningand then jumped off his 2nd floor North Hollywood apartment balcony. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center but we’re told the penis was a lost cause.
Johnson/Christ Bearer is a member of the group Northstar, which was founded by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA. We’re told RZA hasn’t done work with the group for several years.
Johnson/Christ Bearer is remarkably in stable condition.
As we reported … several rappers were present during the horrific scene. They say there were not doing any drugs that would cause such a thing. They believe Johnson/Christ Bearer may have mental issues.

He may have written the happiest song of the year, but Pharrell Williams was reduced to tears during his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Happy singer sat down with the talk show host for an upcoming episode of Oprah Prime on her OWN Network, and was moved by a video shown to him of people dancing to his chart-topping song.
‘I’m so happy!’ Pharrell, 41, cried before Winfrey showed some pictures of him as a child.
Happy tears: Pharrell Williams cries during Oprah Winfrey interview
Little Pharrell: Oprah had managed to get pictures of the singer as a child
Cute ‘do: They discussed the music that he had listened to as a child.
During the interview, Williams – wearing one of his many distinctive Vivienne Westwood hats – discussed his rise to fame, his song-writing process and the music that influenced him to become a seven-time Grammy winning recording artist and producer.
‘My best songs come from two different ways,’ he says. ‘Either when I have a really good gut feeling about something, it’s written in the shower or on a plane.’
‘Shower’s good, isn’t it?’ Oprah says. ‘There’s something about the water.’
‘The water attracts your ear,’ he says. ‘You get distracted, and your mind wanders.’
Tissue: Winfrey seemed to know the video would bring tears to Pharrell’s eyes
But for his Despicable Me 2 song, Pharrell called it a ‘crazy, half-court shot.’
‘It’s not because you’re that good,’ Williams says. ‘It’s because you’re out of ideas.’
The interview also saw Pharrell talk about his critically-acclaimed new album ‘G I R L’, and his wedding last year to model and designer Helen Lasichanh.
But over the weekend, he was in Indio, California to perform at Coachella 2014, where he reminded the audience of just how many hit songs he’s been behind.
If you haven’t already figured it our from his music, Drake has a really big heart and we’re super happy to see him share it in this way.
Last night, 15-year-old Kennedy Brown got the surprise of her life when Drizzy showed up on her doorstep unexpectedly. According to ABC News, Kennedy, who’s currently in hospice, was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago, but this weekend she made a special trip back to her high school, Carnegie Vanguard in Houston,TX, where her classmates threw her a surprise prom, crowned her prom queen, and even gave her an honorary diploma in a private graduation ceremony. Part of the goal of the events was to grant Kennedy’s wish of getting a special message or visit from her favorite rapper, which is why classmate Payton Campbell gave out these instructions:
“We would ask all of your viewers to #DrakeForKen so we can get him to come see her or send something for her because that would mean the world to her.”
Thankfully, Drake saw the social media campaign and paid Kennedy a personal visit yesterday that you can tell was likely the highlight of both of their lives. Posting photos on his Instagram page, Drake captioned the pic below with “She asked to touch the brows #accessgranted”
It happened on Monday’s NCAA Championship game. The father’s name is Rob Maiden and his son’s name is Trey. Together, the dynamic duo stole the show… literally!
Still classy, super star Beyonce posed for these pics for the cover of Out Magazine.
For the Out cover, shot by Santiago & Mauricio, Beyoncé is styled by Lysa Cooper, rocking platinum blonde hair, vintage jewelry, and seemingly topless.
In the issue, Beyoncé addresses women’s empowerment, and says that her music opened up that conversation for a younger generation.
“There is unbelievable power in ownership, and women should own their sexuality,” she said. “Being that I am a woman in a male-dominated society, the feminist mentality rang true to me and became a way to personalize that struggle.”
If you’re not a daddy, then hopefully you know one or know of one.
Enjoy!
