British actor Mark Lester: DNA test will prove I fathered Michael Jackson’s kids

The former ‘Oliver’ child star says he’s prepared to take a DNA test to prove his story that he donated sperm to the pop legend. Lester, 51, was close friends with Jackson, and was named godfather to all of his children

Lester reportedly has not been allowed to see the children since Jackson’s death in 2009.

Amid Michael Jackson‘s wrongful death trial, British actor Mark Lester is continuing his efforts to prove that the late pop legend’s children are biologically his. The former “Oliver” child star says he’s prepared to take a DNA test.

“I wouldn’t have a DNA test without the children’s permission, but when the children come of age — and it’s not far away — and they decide they want me to do it, then I will,” he told British tabloid The Mirror.

Lester, 51, was close friends with Jackson, and was named godfather to all of his children. The two met when they were in their teen years — after Lester rose to fame starring in the 1968 movie-musical. They maintained a 30 year-long friendship.

Lester claims his is the father of Jackson’s children — Prince Jackson, Prince Michael Jackson II and Paris Jackson, shown with La Toya Jackson. He says Paris’ resemblance to his own daughter, Olivia, is uncanny.

According to The Mirror, Lester has not been allowed to see the children since Jackson’s death in 2009. After going public with his suspicions, Lester says the Jackson family stopped answering his phone calls.

“I just want to reconnect and be the godfather that Michael made me,” he said. “I just feel it is really cruel that our relationship has just been cut off. It is not what Michael would have wanted.”

Lester previously told Britain’s News of the World in 2009 that he gave Jackson his semen years ago, after the singer asked for “help,” suggesting he had fertility issues.

“It was a really strange request but while Michael was alive I never gave it another thought. I didn’t donate to get something out of it.”

“While he was alive, I never ever thought the children were anyone else’s but Michael’s.”

Now, Lester says the resemblance between Jackson’s daughter Paris, 15, and his own 18-year-old daughter Olivia, is uncanny.

Lauryn Hill Releases New Song ‘Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)’ – Listen

The ex-Fugee rushed released track due to an ‘impending legal deadline’

Photo: PA

Lauryn Hill has released a new song titled ‘Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)’.

The track, which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the article and clicking ‘play’, is the former Fugees singer’s first solo effort since 2010’s ‘Repercussions’. The song was released without warning via her label Obverse Creation – which she set up as part of her reported $1million deal with Sony Music – yesterday (May 4).

Writing on Tumblr, Hill said the track was rushed released due to an “impending legal deadline”. She wrote: “Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music…but the message is still there.”

According to Hill, the song’s message is relevant in today’s society following the death of Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly. “In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked,” she said.

It was reported last year that Hill pleaded guilty to not paying federal taxes on $1.8 million earned between 2005 and 2007. Judge Madeline Cox postponed sentencing, giving the singer until May 6 to pay off the money she owes – an amount currently standing at $504,000.

‘Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)’ is available via iTunes now.

Mountain Dew to Release Lil Wayne Over Emmett Till lyric

A source tells theGrio PepsiCo is ending its association with rapper Lil’ Wayne, an endorser of the soft drink Mountain Dew.

Dissolving the partnership is a direct response to Wayne’s song lyric which referenced Emmett Till, the 14-year-old who was murdered in Mississippi in 1955 after being accused of whistling at a white woman.

Wayne apologized for the lyric after members of Till’s family objected, but his semi-apology was not accepted.

Now, the song has cost him his endorsement deal.

A Mountain Dew spokesperson told theGrio “We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward.  His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”

Mountain Dew was already under fire for a web video produced by rapper and leader of the Odd Future collective Tyler the Creator, which featured a goat participating in a criminal lineup as a physically abused white woman is terrified by subliminal threats not to identify him.

Chris Kelly From Kriss Kross Found Dead

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Rapper Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly died Wednesday afternoon after being found unresponsive in his home.

Kelly, 34, was part of the duo “Kris Kross,” known for their backwards clothes and 1992 hit “Jump.”

Kelly was found unresponsive and transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Officer told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The cause of death was not immediately known. An autopsy is planned for Thursday morning.

An Atlanta native, Kelly and the other half of the duo, Chris Smith, were discovered at a mall in 1990 by now-famous entertainer and producer Jermaine Dupri. “Kris Kross” was one of the first acts Dupri signed to his So So Def Records label, and in February, the duo was among many to perform at an anniversary show at the Fox.

Emmett Till’s Family Plans To Pressure Mountain Dew To Drop Lil Wayne

The family of Emmett Till says they plan to put pressure on the many sponsors of rapper Lil Wayne, namely his high profile endorsement deal with Mountain Dew. After the New Orleans rapper referenced the deceased teen in a verse on an unreleased remix of Future’s “Karate Chop” single, the Till family is dissatisfied with Weezy’s response to the offensive lyric.

AllHipHop.com got an exclusive quote from the Till family regarding their new course of action, which was sparked largely by Wayne’s inaction and lack of response to the controversy. This latest move comes after the Till family released a video three weeks ago lambasting Wayne even further.

From AllHipHop.com:

Since, the rapper has not apologized, the Till family have told AllHipHop.com exclusively that they intend to pressure Lil Wayne’s sponsors, namely Mountain Dew.

Shortly, the Till Family are expected to make offensive moves forward to further address Wayne and Mountain Dew, a product of PepsiCo. A similar tactic by women’s group UltraViolet resulted in Reebok dropping Rick Ross from their campaign.

Although Epic Records pulled the remix off the airwaves and apologized on Wayne’s behalf, the estate of Emmett Till still aim to hit the Young Money honcho in the pockets in a bid to get his attention.

Emmettt Till was murdered in 1955 after reportedly whistling at a White woman, thus sparking a new charge in the fight for civil rights for African-Americans.

Check out Beyoncé and André 3000’s Version of Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black”

As billed, the song is a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black,” but flips the song in almost a chopped and screwed style. The remake kicks off 3 Stacks harmonizing and crooning before Queen Bey closes things out over the groove produced by Hollywood Holt of The Treated Crew.

It’s a radio rip, for now, so forgive all the incessant chatter over the song. Actually, the guy with the British accent is actually Mark Ronson, who was crucial in introducing Winehouse to the American audience and produced about half of her breakthrough Back To Black album. Previously, the OutKast rapper and Beyoncé worked together on the song “Party,” from her 2011 album, 4.

The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which is executive produced by Jay-Z, is in stores May 7.  The Great Gatsby film is in theaters May 10. Listen to Beyoncé and André 3000’s version of “Back To Black” below.

Let us know what you think of this new version in the comments.

“Back To Black” originally appeared on Winehouse’s 2006 album of the same name, and was co-written and produced by Ronson. Beyonce and Andre 3000 previously worked together on “Party,” from her 2011 album “4.”

Listen to Winehouse’s original version of the song below:

Snoop Lion Roars at Bunny Wailer

Snoop Lion, previously known as Snoop Dogg, has been quiet for the most part about Bunny Wailers scathing remarks about his transformation from a gangster rapper to a Rastafarian.

Earlier this year Bunny Wailer issued a 7-page letter to the rapper turned reggae singer chastising and accused him of fraudulently using Rastafarian culture for profits.

Since then several prominent figure in reggae including the Marley family and Sean Paul has defended Snoop Lion from the attack from Bunny Wailer.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop Lion lash out at Bunny Wailer over his negative remarks about the rap legend.

Here are the excerpt from Snoop’s Rolling Stone interview:

In the film, you and Bunny Wailer seem to get along well. Why has there been this dispute?
I couldn’t tell you. To me, it’s a miscommunication, and I’m not gonna speak nothing negative because I love him too much. Any relationship, you gotta be able to disagree. The last time I seen him, it was all love, but when I heard the negative remarks, I paid no attention. If I’m gonna be Rasta incorporated, loving energy is the only way I can match his negative energy.

Would it be meaningful for you to have a conversation directly with him?
I mean, it would be meaningful for him to talk to me. He’s the one supposedly putting out the negative energy. I coulda said, “F–k that n***a. Bi–h-ass n***a.” I’m still a gangsta – don’t get it f–ked up. I’m growing to a man, so as a man, do I wanna revert back to my old ways and f–k this n***a up, or move forward, shine with the light? It’s nothing. I’ve been hit before.

One of the things he accuses you of is not honoring contractual commitments. What’s he referring to?
It can’t be nothing because he’s not on my record. What could it be? To me, a lot of these guys from back in the days have been done wrong, and they think younger artists owe them, because we’ve been paid and treated right. It’s not my fault if you haven’t been paid. I just met you. I’ve done nothing but put you in a place where the world knows who you are. They heard who you are, now they know who you are. I’ve given you a platform to speak and make money. My conversation with Bunny was about how he was done, not how I’m gonna do him. I can’t fix what people have done with you in the past, but I’m gonna put you in the movie – he signed off on it – put you on the album. It was too much negative energy so I said I don’t even want him on the record.

By negative energy, do you mean his public statements or something else?
He’s speaking and the album isn’t out. That gave me fair warning to get this motherf—er off my shit. I have no insight what turned him. The people I visited at the Nyabinghi Temple aren’t speaking negative on me. They’re real Rastas. I went in there and filmed them, showed their whole get-down. Nobody did that before. If anyone, they should have complained – “He exploited us!” Why aren’t they saying that? To me, they have the most gripe to make. How did I exploit Bunny? I gave you a chance to be in my movie. My movie gonna be the shit with or without you. I’m gonna be the shit with or without you. I’m Snoop Dogg. Relevant right now.

It’s like, people take my kindness for weakness. In the Nineties, he could have never tried that because I’d have slapped the dog shit out of his old a$$. How dare you? After all I’ve done for you? How dare you? You wasn’t the shit in the Wailers. You was just one of them: Bob, Peter Tosh, then you. They dead mean more than you do alive. You get the energy? When it should have been, ‘Hey, this brother is putting me back in the light; I could possibly get on the road with him, be on his album, eat again. Let me get in line. This is Snoop Dogg; he’s already a star.’ It should have been, play along with me as opposed to stick me up. I’m gonna give you what you worth, but you not gonna stick me up.

So he wanted more money to be on the album than you were willing to pay?
The reason for him not being on the album is I started hearing negative energy and rather than have him be a part of it, I kept him in the movie to show his positivity against his negativity. Here this comes out of left field to make me go back, be the old ignorant-a$$ n***a. To me, it’s a test, to see if I’m really made for this. Who else would it come from to make this amount of noise? But guess who stood up in my defense? Rohan, Rita, Stephen, Damian Marley. Rohan went public. He called him Phony Wailer, or whatever he called him. I can’t call him that; I don’t know him like that. But they do. They know what he after and they love me. If Bob’s kids and his wife welcome they arms and say, “You one of the Marleys,” then who is Bunny Wailer to say anything?

Snoop Lion drop his reggae debut album on April 23.

Rick Ross Commits a “Lyrical Fail”…Forcing Reebok to Drop Him

A protest against Reebok for not firing rapper Rick Ross over sexist and violent lyrics outside the Reebok Flagship Store In New York on April 4, 2013.
In the song “U.O.E.N.O,” Ross raps: “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”

The drug mentioned in Ross’ song is “molly,” which is a slang term for a powerful form of the psychoactive drug MDMA, commonly called ecstasy.

His lyrics sparked outrage from fans and activist groups.

Reebok released a statement on Thursday announcing it had severed ties with Ross.

“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand,” the statement read. “Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross.”

Ross took to Twitter in early April to seemingly apologize for the lyrics he used in his song. He tweeted: “I dont condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS”

Two hours later he attempted to apologize again: “Apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women. @ReebokClassics @ultraviolet.”
