Will Smith stopped by The Graham Norton Show with his son Jaden Smith to promote their new movie After Earth, but things took a little turn.
While performing with his son in a beatbox match, Will was surprised when Alfonso Ribeiro made a special appearance with DJ Jazzy Jeff on the turntables.
Even though he hasn’t wanted to do it in the past, Alfonso was on set and whipped out the famous “Carlton” dance in front of the crowd.
Okay, so he is 75 years old. And he is running around promoting his new movie, Now You See Me with co-star Michael Caine. And, and he once played the role of God in the movie Bruce Almighty . Morgan is a very busy man, so if he feels the need to take a nap during an interview, then what da problem iz?
Pharrell Williams returns with feel good music with composer Heitor Pereira to create “Happy” – the first offering from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.
Jamie Foxx and TNT have decided to turn the pair’s father-daughter relationship into a new scripted series for the network.
The new show will be titled “Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me,” and will follow this premise:
Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way? Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his 18-year-old daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.
Jamie Foxx will executive produce and handle scripting along with a couple other people, which means he’ll likely be completely off-screen rather than in front of it as we usually see. And even though the show is only based on Jamie’s relationship with his daughter.
Zoe Saldana is open to finding love, whether it’s with a man or woman. The Star Trek Into Darkness star raised a few eyebrows when she revealed that she may “end up with a woman raising my children,” in the June issue of Allure magazine.
“That’s how androgynous I am”
The 34-year-old went on to say that when she finds love again she won’t second guess it. “If I have something good in front of me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a person or a pair of shoes, I’m not going to test something else”
In an op-ed on the New York Times the 37 year old award winning actress, wrote that she underwent the surgery because of her six kids, and watching mother die from breast cancer.
“My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56. She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was.”
“They have asked if the same could happen to me.”
Doctors told Jolie that she had an 87% chance of getting the deadly disease after the BRCA1 gene that causes breast cancer was found in her system.
Jolie hopes that by making this information public, she would be able to help other women facing the same decision.
“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”

The Great Gatsby by R. Scott Fitzgerald was a required book to have read in my high school sophomore year; I enjoyed the book so much I read it three times start to finish that year. Think of my excitement when I heard they were making The Great Gatsby movie. Luckily, I was able to go see the movie last night with a group of friends. I walked in expecting to be amazed and love it. I didn’t.
With Leonardo Dicaprio as Jay Gatsby I expected an amazing performance
As the title states, this is a short review, thus I shall touch on my main “likes” and “dislikes”.
What I Liked:
Dicaprio as Jay Gatsby, he fits the character perfectly and plays this mysterious, nervous, but luxurious man very well.
The sense of how grand some scenes were such as Gatsby’s infamous parties as you could just see that every walk of New York City life came to them
The historical accuracy of the movie down to every small detail
What I Disliked:
The soundtrack was quite possibly the worst part of this movie. The parties had a band playing, but you never would hear them since their music was covered by Jay Z or Kanye. I’d prefer hearing 1920’s swing music in a movie based in that time period over Kanye West.
Some scenes were poorly designed as you could easily tell it was some cheap green screen or made entirely on a computer
The constant narrating by Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) and odd scenes were it his words being written on screen.
A lack of details compared to the book, granted this a movie.
The surrounding cast. I never felt drawn to them as they were just simple characters thrown into the movie to accompany Gatsby and very few were given any explanation as to who they were.
The movie as a whole just felt poorly made and had a “cheap” vibe surrounding it.
Overall, I left the theater very disappointed. I’ve always heard that books were always better than the movies based on them and never did I believe the people who told me that. This one time though, the book has the movie beat by light years.
UPDATE: See Girl Rising this Sunday, June 16th on CNN at 9PM EST!!!
In an increasing effort to shine a light on what happens when girls in the developing world rise up and above obstacles in their lives, 10X10 films brings us Girl Rising by Academy Award nominated director Richard Robbins. Nine girls’ stories from around the world. Each girl paired with a writer from their own country to tell of the journey to where they are now. Narrative performances by Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchette, Salma Hayek, Selena Gomez, Alicia Keys, Meryl Streep, Priyanka Chopra, Kerry Washington, Chloe Moretz, Liam Neeson, and Frida Pinto draw you in.
Wadley, a precocious third grader in Haiti, loves going to school. She takes pride in memorizing her history passages. One evening while doing her homework the earthquake hits. Wadley and her mother’s world is turned upside down and around. In the aftermath, Wadley walks a long way each day to get water for the family. One day she sees that the school has opened up again; Wadley runs home to tell her mother. Heartbroken when her mother tells her she can’t go to school because they don’t have any money, Wadley decides to go to school the next day. Her teacher recognizes her and tells her unless her mother has paid she has to leave; embarrassed Wadley walks home. The next day she vows to go back until they let her stay.
Azmera was 13 when her mother was about to agree to an arranged marriage to some strange visitors one day. The only daughter alive in her family, Azmera and her brother are all their mother has left after her husband dies early and she loses a child still young. Thankfully, just in the nick of time, Azmera’s brother walks in from tending the fields of Ethiopia and sees what’s about to happen. In a chivalrous gesture, he pleads with his mother and puts his foot down as the man of the house saying that Azmera will not marry one of the men.
Those were the easiest stories to take in. However each story, no matter the outcome, grips you in the heart and squeezes. Every girls’ story is compelling. Interlaced with statistics of what happens when countries decide to educate their girls or not, Girl Rising demands we take notice and action.
In their own way each girl gives us solid reasons to help their fight. Amina, the 11 year old forced into marriage in Afghanistan puts it quite eloquently and to the point, “I will read. I will study. I will learn. If you try to stop me, I’ll just try harder. If you stop me, there will be other girls who will rise up and take my place. I am change.”
If those girls can fight for themselves in some of the most dire circumstances, surely we can take time to speak up for them and others like them around the world.
Call it “fake”, call it whatever you’d like; I use to love to watch wrestling and have known Dwayne Johnson before he hit the silver screen as one of the all time greats, “The Rock”. From the start of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1996 to the Attitude Era in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was a wrestling superstar. Every time he’d enter and make his way to the ring the crowds would be cheering and going crazy. Throughout his Wrestling career he’d gain such nicknames as “The People’s Champion” , rack up 17 championship reigns, and win the 2000 Royal Rumble. Sadly though The Rock would take a prolonged hiatus from wrestling in 2004 to break onto the big screen.
Dwayne Johnson’s first major role
Dwayne Johnson’s first major role came as the Scorpion King in 2002; continuing on from his initial success from there he had a lead role in The Game Plan (2007),a part in Get Smart (2008), the lead in The Tooth Fairy (2010), a part in The Race To Witch Mountain (2009), a role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), Snitch (2013), and G.I Joe: Retaliation (2013). Probably Johnson’s most popular role has been his appearance in the famed Fast and Furious film series, as he appeared in Fast Five and has been confirmed for Fast and Furious 7. Off the silver screen, he has also had plenty of success on television judging by his numerous appearances on shows from Cory in the House to his newest reality/game show on TNT, The Hero. To say he’s been successful in pursing acting is a drastic understatement. Yet, Dwayne returned to where he started…wrestling.
“If ya smell…What The Rock, is cooking!”
The Rock made his long-awaited return to wrestling as the host of WrestleMania XXVII, appearing on the show Raw for the first time in seven years. From that one return The Rock would soon return to the ring and headline WrestleMaina XXVIII and the following one as well. Adding to his much hyped return from his long absence, The Rock won the WWE Championship and would reign for 70 days until he lost it again. This past April 7th, The Rock wrestled what may have been his last match, as he as yet to return to the ring citing an injury he suffered from WrestleMania. While I do love seeing him perform on the silver screen and on my TV, perhaps it is best now that The Rock retires for good from wrestling. There is no need to risk any further injury as he legacy has been engraved in stone.
I’d just like to say now though; Thank you Dwayne Johnson for entertaining me when I went to the movies. Lastly, Thank you The Rock for entertaining me and the wrestling world and for more importantly living up to your nickname, “The Most Eletrifiying Man in All of Entertainment.“
On April 21st, Reese Witherspoon became famous all over again when she asked a cop if he knew who she was. She was quickly arrested and tossed in the back of the cop’s patrol car.
Well now, video tape of the whole exchange has made it’s way around the internet, adding a whole new level of fame to Mrs. Witherspoon. A level we’re sure she would rather do without.
Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were pulled over in Atlanta after their car was observed weaving in traffic. Her husband was placed in handcuffs and at this point, Reese decided to make her presence known.
“I’m a U.S. citizen … I’m allowed to stand on American ground and ask any question I want to ask,” the Oscar winner said. But the officer was not having any of it and is seen placing Mrs Witherspoon in handcuffs. As he lead her off to sit in his car, Reese is heard asking the officer if he knew who she was. When the officer answered that he didn’t care to know, Reese replied,”you’re about to find out who I am.”
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Witherspoon was ordered to pay a fine of $215, and her husband must complete 40 hours of community service. He was also placed on 12 months of probation.
Comedian Kevin Hart has been charged with DUI — not unexpected … after he allegedly drove drunk and nearly slammed into a tanker truck and then confessed to his wastedness.
TMZ broke the story … Hart was arrested for DUI almost two weeks ago after CHP spotted him speeding and driving erratically on an L.A. freeway. We’re told cops clocked Kev at 90 MPH and watched as he almost collided with a gas tanker truck.
Our sources say Hart blew almost DOUBLE the legal limit — .15.
The L.A. City Attorney has charged Hart with two misdemeanor counts of DUI. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail, but the reality is … first offenders almost never get sentenced to the pokey.
As for his defense, let’s hope this isn’t his opening statement …
