SNL Finally Adds Black Female Cast member to Line up – Video


It took an appearance by Scandal’s Kerry Washington for Saturday Night Live to finally realize that they need, not want, need a black female cast member. When Washington hosted the show back in November, she was forced – well, maybe not forced – to play various black roles in the same skit. Her appearance highlighted the void in the popular television show.

Enter Sasheer Zamata, a comedian from Brooklyn New York. According to SNL’s producer, Zamata will make her appearance on January 18th, when the show airs its first broadcast for 2014.

Melissa Harris Perry Offers Tearful Heartfelt Apology To Romneys – Video

I’m not trying to make this apology a political issue, but this is just another example of the vast difference between Democrats and Republicans.

On December 29th Melissa Harris Perry, host at MSNBC, aired a show featuring a group of comedians to reflect on some of the news that caught their attention during the year 2013. It was a panel of comedians, so naturally the segment’s intent was comedic. What caused the controversy was a picture Melissa showed of the Romney’s grand kids, showing Mitt Romney’s black adopted grandson. Melissa’s panel of comedians offered various ‘jokes’ about the Romney clan and the Republican media went insane, demanding an immediate apology.

Among those calling for an apology was, of course, Sarah Palin. Palin took to her Facebook page and called the comedic segment “despicable.” She wrote;

“Leftist media hounds are not expressing an opinion with this attack; they are expressing a prejudice that would never be accepted if it came from anyone else but the lib[eral] media. This latest attack from the Left is despicable.”

So today, one week after her episode aired, Melissa Perry offered an apology. A tearful, heartfelt apology. Will anyone on the right ever apologize for anything they’ve said? Will Sarah Palin apologize for her careless slavery analogy that caused Martin Bashir to lose his job at MSNBC? Will Rush Limbaugh issue an apology to Sandra Fluke and all the women for all the insensitive things he’s said over the last 20 years?

Of course they wont. And that’s the difference between us and them.

‘Fresh Prince’ Dad James Avery Dead At 65

James Avery — the beloved dad on “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” — has died at age 65 .. TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the actor tell TMZ he died in an L.A. hospital last night. Avery had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed illness and took a turn for the worse late yesterday.

And we’re told his wife, Barbara, had been at his bedside but left for a short period of time to get something to eat.  When she came back, she learned he had just died.

Beyonce Makes Dying Girl’s Wish Come Through – Video

Her wish was to dance with Beyonce and the supertar made it happened earlier this month in one of her concerts. The video below was uploaded on Beyonce’s YouTube page, and it showed part of the Taylon Davis’ story.

Taylon, who has an inoperable brain tumor, told her wish to the good folks at The Make-A-Wish Foundation. After some quick maneuvering by the Foundation, Taylon was invited to the Beyonce concert in Las Vegas where her dream to dance with the star came through.

“I am having so much fun,” Taylon told the camera, as she danced with the superstar in her wheelchair.

Beyonce and Taylon sang “Love on Top” and Destiny’s Child “Survivor” together.

Video: Phil Robertson Says Men Should Marry 15 and 16 year olds Girls

The star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty has dominated the news recently with some unbelievable statements about gays and black people. Now, Phil Robertson is shown on video advising the men in his audience that they should marry girls as young as 15 years old.

Why wait until they’re 20? Phil Robertson asks, claiming that there are no great “pickings” when men wait until a woman is 20. He is heard saying that the only thing that gets picked when a woman is 20 is the man’s pocket. “You got to marry these girls when they’re 15 or 16,” Robertson states.

Charlie Sheen’s Poem to Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson

Last week, Phil Robertson made some statements that offended many. He compared the gay lifestyle to beastiality among other things, and claimed that black people in the South did not suffer any oppression before the civil movement began. It was happy times for all apparently.

Some came to Robinsons defense like Sarah Palin and others in the Republican Party, but many more were outraged by the things Robinsons had to say.

Below is a poem from actor Charlie Sheen, who felt the need to voice his opinion on behalf of his friends who “were hurt” by Robertson’s comments.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union Now Engaged

MIAMI (AP) — Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are engaged.

The Miami Heat star proposed to his longtime girlfriend Saturday and the actress accepted. They announced the news through social media, around the same time as the two-time defending NBA champions were gathering for a team Christmas party.

“She said YES!!!” Wade posted to his Twitter and Instagram accounts, with a photo of Union wearing a large diamond solitaire on the ring finger of her left hand.

It will be the second marriage for both Union, 41, and Wade, who turns 32 next month. No date has been announced, and the couple did not release any formal statements about the engagement Saturday night.

Oprah Explains Why She Has No Kids – “my kids would hate me”

As one of the richest and powerful people in the world, Oprah Winfrey has it all. Except children. And the former talk show queen is perfectly fine with that.

Chatting with The Hollywood Reporter, Lady O explained why things would be a bit different if she bought kids into the world.

“If I had kids, my kids would hate me,” Winfrey told THR. “They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something [in my life] would have had to suffer and it would’ve probably been them.”

Before she became a household name, Winfrey gave birth to a baby, who lived for a number of weeks before dying. As a result, the media mogul’s attitude towards having more children has been the same since her best friend Gayle King had a very different set of hopes and dreams.

“Gayle [now a mother of two] was the kind of kid who, in seventh grade home-ec class, was writing down her name and the names of her children,” Winfrey explained. “While she was having those kind of daydreams, I was having daydreams about how I could be Martin Luther King.”

Oprah’s comments follow her  Screen Actors Guild nomination on Wednesday for her work in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.” The actress joins Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, who also voiced her comfort in not having children by telling  the Reporter that her “”eggs are dying on the shelf.”

Tyrese Breaks Down at Site Where Paul Walker Died

This is just heartbreaking.

Tyrese couldn’t contain his emotion when he visited the site where his Fast and the Furious costar Paul Walker died in a car crash Saturday in Valencia, Calif.

The singer-actor broke down at the scene, with tears rolling down his face as he stood in front of a makeshift memorial holding a flower for the late star.

“My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don’t understand My heart hurts it’s broken no one can convince me that this is real…. Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family…#HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForever WeJustCelebreatedYour40thBirthday….. My God… My God… I can’t,” Tyrese posted on Instagram Saturday evening after learning about his friend’s passing.

He went on to post an Instagram shot of the last conversation he had with Walker, in which he told him he loved him and thanked him for his friendship.

“At least I got to say I love you…. #OurLastExchange but our laughs and moments will live forever #ThisIsWorstThanMyWorstNightmare #GodiLoveYouAndiwillneverquestionYou…. But this I just don’t understand #PaulForeverFamily #MyHeartHurtsSoBad please pray for his daughter and family…”

Other mourners have also arrived at the scene to pay tribute to Walker and his late friend Roger Rodas, leaving behind flowers candles and DVDs.

Michael Jordan and New Wife Yevette Expecting First Child

Michael Jordan is going be a dad again! The basketball legend and his wife Yvette Preito are expecting a child together, his rep confirms to Us Weekly.

Jordan, 50, and Prieto tied the knot seven months ago in an over-the-top wedding in Palm Beach, Fla., on April 27. The two said “I do” at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-The Sea Church and were joined by over 300 guests. Their reception was held at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla. 

Jordan and the Cuban-American model, 34, were joined by famous pals for their special day, including Robin Thicke, Usher,Tiger Woods, Patrick Ewing and Spike Lee. An insider exclusively revealed to Us that the couple shared their first dance to K’Jon’s “One the Ocean.”

This will be the first child for the couple of over five years. Jordan is already a dad to three children from his previous marriage to Juanita Venoy. The couple were married for 17 years before splitting in 2006. They have sons Jeffrey Michael, 24, and Marcus James, 22, and daughter Jasmine, 19, together.
