For the first time in three years, Venus and Serena Williams will enter Sunday’s French Open as doubles partners.
The sisters were granted a doubles wild card to play at Roland Garros, despite skipping the event the past two years, the AP reported. They were one of 14 doubles teams awarded wild cards.
Will Smith stopped by The Graham Norton Show with his son Jaden Smith to promote their new movie After Earth, but things took a little turn.
While performing with his son in a beatbox match, Will was surprised when Alfonso Ribeiro made a special appearance with DJ Jazzy Jeff on the turntables.
Even though he hasn’t wanted to do it in the past, Alfonso was on set and whipped out the famous “Carlton” dance in front of the crowd.
A horrifying video shows the moment a woman police officer beats a suspect repeatedly with a baton.
Officers had been called to the city’s Metro PCS store in Folsom Boulevard on Friday, after reports that a shop assistant was in danger.
Shocking: The police office can be seen beating the suspect with her baton outside a Sacramento store
As they tried to handcuff the suspect, who had tried to barricade himself inside the store, the man resisted and a violent struggle followed.
A shopper, who sent her footage to CBS13 under the condition of anonymity, filmed the moment the man was held to the ground as a police officer struck him repeatedly with her baton.
Officer Doug Morse called for more witnesses who may have filmed the incident to send in the footage to help the investigation.
By the time the suspect, a white man in his 40s, had been restrained and taken into custody, he had stopped breathing. He was rushed to hospital, but later died.
One of the police officers and off-duty district attorney investigator who had stopped to help, were also taken to hospital needing treatment, according to a police report.
The coroner has not listed the official cause of death for the suspect, who has not been identified.
Witnesses say that shoppers had tried to come to the aid of the police, who had called for back up as they struggled to subdue the man.

President Barack Obama is set to sign a bill Friday that awards the Congressional Gold Medal posthumously to the four African-American girls killed in the 1963 Birmingham church bombing.

The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian award given in the United States. It is awarded to people “who have performed an achievement that has an impact on American history and culture that is likely to be recognized as a major achievement in the recipient’s field long after the achievement.”

It’s no secret that Washington is falling behind when it comes to educating our future techs. While the state ranks fourth in the nation for tech-related companies, Washington comes in a disappointing 46th for participation in science and engineering graduate programs.
Which makes what happened on Thursday inside the gymnasium of Rainier Beach High School all the more special.
“The greatest pleasure in science comes from theories that derive the solution to some deep puzzle from a small set of simple principles in a surprising way.”

It’s often said that the only certainties in life are death and taxes. But you can add “rehashing of the O.J. Simpson case” to that list — at least for the last 18 years.
So it should come as no surprise that a new book has been published about the 1994 murders of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
In 1995, a California jury acquitted O.J. Simpson of the killings. A civil lawsuit, later filed by the victims’ families, resulted in a 1997 judgment finding Simpson liable for the deaths and ordering him to pay $33.5 million in damages.
The latest installment in the Simpson library is not another “If I Did It,” in which the former gridiron great speculated on how he might have killed his former wife. Instead, the new book points the finger of guilt away from Simpson and lays the blame on his son, Jason Simpson.
“Everything we have in the book is documented. It is not theory or hypothesis. It is fact,” renowned private investigator William C. Dear told The Huffington Post about his book, “O.J. Is Innocent and I Can Prove It.”
Dear’s 576-page “true account,” according to Amazon.com, hit the shelves today, retailing at $18 for the hardcover edition.
In the investigation into the murders of Brown and Goldman, Jason Simpson was never considered a suspect or a person of interest. The 41-year-old lives in Miami, where he reportedly works as a chef. HuffPost was unable to reach Simpson for comment Monday because his phone had been disconnected.
