The governor of Missouri is a Democrat but he has handled the situation in Ferguson like a Republican, staying out of sight while his world crumbled around him, looking for someone else to blame.
Enter Missouri State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal, who has already been gassed by the Ferguson police when she joined the protests.
In an interview on MSNBC, Maria Chappelle-Nadel didn’t hold her tongue, calling Gov. Nixon a “coward” for his disappearing acts.
“Our governor, Governor Nixon, has been absent from the minority community, not for a few years, but for a few decades, and this is inexcusable. And he only comes to the minority community when it’s politically expedient. And now that the world’s eyes are on Missouri… the governor is now here. But he’s not really at Ground Zero. He’s never come to Ground Zero… For that, I call him a coward.”
NBC vehemently denied this story when it came out a few weeks ago, but now there seems to be confirmation that David Gregory is history.
Chuck Todd, the NBC News chief White House correspondent and political director, will replace David Gregory as moderator of “Meet The Press,” network sources confirmed early Thursday afternoon in the wake of a CNN report.
Todd’s promotion, which the network could announce as early as Thursday, is an effort by NBC News to reassert itself as the dominant Sunday show after falling to third place in the ratings under Gregory. The news confirms a previous report from POLITICO’s Mike Allen that Todd was the likely successor to the throne
I think it’s a fair to say that base on his rant against AL Sharpton, NBA player Gilbert Arenas is not too fond of the civil rights leader. Arenas called Sharpton a “coon” for getting involved in Ferguson and, as far as he is concerned, Sharpton presence is just making matters worse.
In an Instagram post that was later deleted but not before it was saved by UPROXX, Arenas went all in on Sharpton.
“I would like to start off by saying too the family of the victim GOD BLESS#RIPmichealbrown you will be missed: too EVERY African American out there..how dumb are we really???every time we hear some bad news, the first thing we do is #RIOT #ROB #STEAL #BURN sh-t in our OWN neighborhoods..this racism fight has never been #blackvswhite, it’s ALWAYS been #blackvsblack from what the stats.. About 10 riots from the black community over the years and the only thing damaged ,was the BLACK COMMUNITY by The BLACK COMMUNITY..only reason they issue riot police isssss just in case you actually got smart enough to walk 6 blocks ,YALL ain’t f-cking up white rich sh-t smdh”
. six, trayvon and the list goes back way back..#AL ur like a #THOT in the club, lookn for attention what u said at trayvons rally #enoughisenough ur right were tired of u PRETENDING”
UPROXX reports that the pair do have some history, as in 2010 Sharpton spoke out harshly against Arenas during his guns in the locker room flap, and called for then Commissioner Stern to issue a severe punishment. Gilbert’s words may reflect his true feelings, but the harshness of his statement may be attributed to some still lingering personal issues with the good reverend.
President Obama made a statement on the US efforts in Iraq against the terrorist group ISIS, and the ongoing tensions in Ferguson Missouri where 18 year old Michael Brown was murdered by police.
Rep. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina is pleading with Republicans to thread lightly on the impeachment talk, suggesting that Democrats would want nothing more than an impeachment conversation before the midterm elections.
In a radio interview with WQSC 1340, the South Carolina Republican said, “Believe me, let’s make one thing perfectly clear. The only people who want impeachment more than the right wing of the Republican Party is the entire Democrat Party.”
“Oh, they’re desperate for impeachment. They would love to be able to talk about impeachment and immigration between now and the November elections. Instead of talking about jobs, and the economy, and health care. They are desperate to change the dialogue, which is exactly why you heard the president starting to talk about his amnesty cause he’s begging to be impeached.”
Mulvaney added Republicans should “follow the Constitution” and only impeach the president if he takes an action that meets the high standard of high crimes and misdemeanors.
“Let’s not fall into a trap when the guy absolutely wants to be impeached,” the congressman said, citing money raised by Democrats exploiting the supposed threat of impeachment.
People are angry and they have every right to be. One of their own was gunned down in the streets like an animal in his own community, his lifeless body displayed where it fell like a trophy for all to see.
His crime? Walking the street of Ferguson Missouri as a black man. That act is apparently a crime that carries with it an automatic death penalty, to be administered by the first police officer on site.
The officer who pulled the trigger, and pulled the trigger, and pulled the trigger, pumping multiple bullets into Michael Brown’s body, was quickly whisked away by police and put in their protective custody for a job well done.
Yes, people are angry and they should be. But these people are black. The bullet-riddled body of the dead teenager, whose apparent crime was walking, was also black and based on eyewitness reports, the trigger-happy police officer who committed the crime of murder was white and belongs to a police force that’s 97% white.
These combinations should have made this unfortunate situation a teachable moment – bringing together the community and the police and ensuring justice for Michael Brown and his family. But instead, scenes of white officers in military gear with heavy artillery, spiced up with the heavy smoke from exploding tear gas canisters and flash grenades, illuminated the area where just days before, an unarmed teen spent the last moments of his life, kneeling down on the cold hard asphalt, hands raised and begging for his life.
Michael Brown’s pleads for life fell on deaf ears as the bullets destroyed his internal organs. And ironically the angry community, using their constitutional rights to protest the killing of one of their own, also found themselves, sitting on the cold hard asphalt with their hands raised, yelling “hands raised don’t shoot, hands raised don’t shoot!”
And for that instant, the protesters must have experienced a small piece of Michael’s last moments as they too looked down the street and saw the same police force, with their machine guns and snipers aiming directly at them… tear gas, flash grenades and rubber bullets the only conversation these police preferred.
While Ferguson police revved up their heavy artillery against peacefully assembled citizens, people gathered to protest against the unlawful shooting of a black teenager, something has been noticeably missing – the political leader of Missouri, Governor Jay Nixon and whether he approved of the snipers, teargas and flash grenades used against the citizens of Ferguson who were exercising their First Amendment Rights.
Well just before midnight, Governor Nixon made his presence known, tweeting that he was canceling all his appearances at the Missouri State Fair for Thursday and will be heading to St Louis with a statement to follow.
Hopefully, this would lead to a sensible solutions on how to appreciate the constitutional rights of the citizens on St Louis.
Ferguson police continue to protect the identity of the killer of Michael Brown while releasing the preliminary autopsy report, and the report showed that Michael Brown, the black teenager killed by police because he walked in the street, was shot multiple times… multiple times!
There are no indication of how many bullets the police fired into Brown’s body, no indication of where the bullets hit – eyewitness claims that Brown was shot in the back as he ran away from the police. That’s basically all the information the police is allowing out at this time.
But like mentioned above, Ferguson police is doing all they can to protect the shooter’s identity. No one apparently need to know anything about this killer.
Hillary Clinton found out the hard way that President Obama is still very popular amongst Democrats and liberals – the people whose votes she desperately need if she runs for president in 2016.
After pushing the Republican criticism of the President’s foreign policy decisions, and the backlash he criticism garnered, Hillary Clinton is now backtracking her statement, calling the President and trying to clarify her what she said.
For good measure, she planned on “hugging it out” with the President at an A-list party Wednesday evening on Martha’s Vineyard.
Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said Clinton dialed up Obama to emphasize “that nothing she said was an attempt to attack him, his policies, or his leadership.”
“While they’ve had honest differences … some are now choosing to hype those differences but they do not eclipse their broad agreement on most issues,” he said.
“Like any two friends who have to deal with the public eye, she looks forward to hugging it out when she they see each other tomorrow night.”
The attempt at fence-mending came after she critiqued Obama’s foreign policy – and was tweet-slapped by Obama’s former political guru in return.
He’s dealing with a hundred times the amount of issues that George W Bush dealt with when he was president, but everytime Barack Obama goes on vacation, the-right wing echo chamber screams bloody foul, accusing Obama of being lazy “while bodies fall from the sky,” tes, they’ve actually said that.
So naturally, with a little digging, the facts about Obama’s vacation is is found, and like expected, the right-wingedmilitia media has once again, lied and mislead their audience into thinking that Obama is the supreme vacationing president.
But here’s the facts.
CBS News’ Mark Knoller has meticulously kept track of presidential vacations and such since 1996, and his data showed that, when compared to his predecessor George W Bush, Obama is no where close to Bush when it comes to taking days off.
At this time in his presidency, Bush had already taken 3 times the amount of vacation that Obama is being crucified for, and he had traveled more times too.
See below.
But then, we all know that facts have a liberal bias!
Ever wondered how the conservative’s mind work? Why they go against all the normal reactions to the most horrendous things, choosing instead to hold on to the most outrageous theories their one collective mind musters up?
I wonder about that all the time, especially when a frequent user of that one conservative mind makes his thoughts known.
Here’s Rush Limbaugh for example, explaining his thoughts – one day after Robin Williams was found dead – that Robin Williams killed himself because of his liberal ideology.
“What is the left’s world view in general? If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”
“They’re animated in large part by the false promises of America because the promises of America are not for everyone.
“Robin Williams felt guilty that he was still alive while his three friends had died young, and much earlier than he had.” the conservative talker explained. “He could never get over the guilt that they died and he didn’t.”
“Well, that is a constant measurement that is made by political leftists in judging the country.”
I think the one mind they collectively use is being over used.
