7 Warning Signs of Heart Attack In Women

 

Symptoms of myocardial infarction, or heart attack, are different in men and women. Experts say signs of heart attack exhibited in men are not displayed by women. Extreme chest pressure is one symptom. It’s important to understand the signs of heart attack in women as it can happen at any time.

Here are 7 signs of heart attack in women:

1. Unexplained Fatigue
More than 70% of women suffer from extreme fatigue before a heart attack. They suddenly feel exhausted even after small tasks like getting up from a chair and going to the kitchen. Flu-like exhaustion is also experienced by women. This fatigue is different from chronic fatigue that is caused by hormonal imbalance.

2. Struggling while sleeping
If you are unable to fall asleep it may indicate a heart attack. It’s difficult to detect this sign as it may be due to many other reasons, if you notice any unexplained reasons or prolonged disturbance in your sleep this may be warning you of a heart attack. One study found almost half of women who had a heart attack experienced sleep disturbances beforehand.

3. Pain
If you are experiencing mild pain in your jaw, back, shoulder, neck, or ear, these might be signs of heart attack. Women usually don’t feel the numbness in chest and shoulder like men, but may feel tightness running along their jaw and going down the neck. These mild pains can expand down to shoulders towards left side. Pressure in breastbone and upper back are also signs of heart attack in women.

4. Short of Breath
Difficulties taking long and deep breaths is a bad sign. More than half of women suffer shortness of breath before the heart attack. They find it difficult to talk from inability to catch oxygen. This is one of the most common early heart attack signs in women.

5. Indigestion or Nausea
Dizziness or nausea is a sign prior to heart attack women often display. They may have indigestion or vomit shortly before their heart attack. The chances of experiencing gastrointestinal problems double in women before a heart attack.

6. Anxiety and Stress
Women often feel anxious, stressed, and keyed up before a heart attack. Anxiety is a common sign of heart attack in women, more than 30% of women get this symptom. This has been described as a feeling of impending doom by several women.

7. Sudden Sweat
Sudden pallor for no apparent reason is not a good sign and may be an indicator of heart attack. More than 40% of women feel dizzy and break into a cold sweat before a stroke. You should call 911 when you experience abrupt lightheadedness or dizziness, these signs should not be taken lightly.

Immediately notify your doctor if you observe any of the above-mentioned signs in you or anyone else.

Dr. Maya Angelou’s Memorial Service To Be Broadcasted Through [LIVE STREAM] Saturday From Wake Forest University At 10 A.M.

Due to the size of the chapel, a live stream will be held by Wake Forest University so that fans, and people that were touched and inspired by Angelou can tune and watch and pay their respects.

Angelou, a professor at Wake Forest University taught American Studies since 1982. Angelou also received an honorary degree from Wake Forest University in 1977. She died while at home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina last week on May 28. The poet was 86-years-old.

The service is scheduled to start at 10 am, EST. Reports are saying that close friend, and TV host, Oprah is expected to be in attendance, as well as other celebrity and honorable guest.

Other events honoring Dr. Maya Angelou have been scheduled by the family, according to the University. No details have been announced yet.

Obamacare was once called “The Job-Killing Health Care Law.” But the latest jobs report suggests that the broader economy—and the health care sector, specifically—are adding jobs at a healthy rate.

  • Since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law in March 2010, the health care industry has gained nearly 1 million jobs—982,300, to be more precise—according to Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates released on Friday.
  • Meanwhile, the rest of the economy has added 7.7 million jobs since March 2010, and for the first time, more people are working since the recession began five years ago.
  • Private-sector jobs also grew for the 51st straight month, Justin Wolfers observes at The Upshot, which ties the longest consecutive streak on record and overlaps with the passage of Obamacare 50 months ago. But that streak is piddling compared to health care, which just reported its 131st straight month of job gains.

Booming growth in the heath care industry shouldn’t come as a surprise. The health care sector was gaining about 25,000 jobs per month in the years before the Affordable Care Act, and the law’s infusion of newly insured patients will help bolster providers’ bottom lines.

Michelle Obama for Senate?

Lady Michelle Obama is everywhere. She’s traveling to China. She’s raising money for Democrats. She’s issuing plaintive tweets seeking the rescue of the kidnapped Nigerian girls.

She’s wading uncharacteristically deep into the Washington political mud pit to defend her school lunch program against Republicans, assailing them last Tuesday for opting to “play politics with our kids’ health.” She struck a similar tone in a New York Times op-ed two days later, accusing Republicans of trying to “override science” and suggesting they join parents and “put our children’s interests first.”

So what’s with the bolder profile?

Sure,  Obama cares strongly about the things she is doing. That she does care in fact begs another question: Is caring all that’s going on here? Does she have political ambitions that would allow her to pursue an agenda while working to cement her husband’s legacy?

Illinois has a Republican senator, Mark Kirk, and he is up for reelection in 2016. He’ll be formidable, particularly given his brave recovery from a stroke. But Illinois is a heavily Democratic state, and the race could be close.

No Illinois Democratic candidate would bring the star power and nationwide fundraising capacity that Obama would.

She has proven herself a superb speaker on behalf of her pet projects and is now a veteran campaigner for her husband. She’s also remained highly popular — even as the president’s ratings have plummeted.

She could represent the Democrats’ best chance to pick up a desperately needed — and winnable — seat

When it comes to either supporting our troops or hating Obama the Republicans overwhelmingly choose the latter. Oh boy do they ever. The party who loves jingoistic phrases and loud macho alpha chest beating just couldn’t wait to bash the soldier that our President bravely rescued. Yes it is very brave to actually take action. And that’s what our President did. To fuck with the consequences of more bashing and phony scandal and impeachment talk from the right wing scum. Obama actually did the right thing!

Yes the Republicans love to talk big. “Support our troops”…”Semper Fi.. do or die..gung ho..gung ho…gung ho!” But when it comes to taking action all they can do is sit back and be Monday morning quarterbacks. Now many Republicans were caught erasing tweets they had sent out before Bergdahl’s return which said they were in favor of doing whatever was necessary to get him back. You see that was before Obama did what they never expected him to do..actually get the dude back. Republicans, since they are the party of do nothing, or do nothing unless it fucks most people over, figured Obama wouldn’t have the balls to actually make the deal to bring Bergdahl home.

But he did exactly that. And now they are against what they were for. Not the first time the ballsy black President has done something they actually wanted, to only bash him once he pulls the trigger. It’s commonplace. It’s not surprising at all. Not surprising because the Republican party couldn’t care less about our troops. They have been using our troops as pawns for decades. They send them to die in needless, useless wars. They destroy families in the name of power and money and greed and oil.

When the troops come back home all fucked up mentally and physically they cut funding to VA hospitals and know they can just blame the next Democratic President for it. “Never leave a man behind” they shout and pound their bloated chests, yet when the black President brings one home, the last one, they immediately try to destroy the soldiers reputation. Why? To just get back at the black President.

They destroy the soldiers father. Irish big mouthed right wing pricks on television call him “Taliban” because he has a long beard yet those same pricks give a guy like Phil Robertson a pass, because he is just a good American with a long unwashed beard. Old decrepit, senile Senators forget they were just on television saying they were in favor of the soldiers return by any means necessary. But now they are against it because they are fucked up in the head and forget what they just said. But they often do this, even when they were younger. Maybe they were always good for nothing mental midgets.

The Republicans love to “pray” for the troops. Pray for them oh lord! Just don’t let the black President actually bring them home. Let’s keep them in captivity until a good white male Republican is President..like in fifty years if they are lucky. Lip service is all these good for nothing Republican scumbags are actually good for. When they have to take action they shit their pants, and just criticize those who actually take that action.

On issue after issue. Guns. Health care. Veterans rights. Immigration…on and on and on. They are on default mode. Wait for Obama to make his move then attack, attack, attack. Even if it means attacking our troops and their families. Erase those tweets, make up lies about soldiers dying trying to save the guy Obama saved without one lost life, go on Fox News and make shit up!

Republicans are a disgusting lot that grow more and more disgusting by the day. By the event.

To hell with the truth, with facts. Just destroy. Destroy our men and women in war and then continue to destroy them when they get home.

Scum doesn’t get any scummier.

They Cannot Understand Why the Command-And-Chief Would Bring an American Soldier Home?

Yes people, the president of the United States, the Commander-In-Chief of our military, had to once again explain that he will not apologies for bringing an American soldier home. He is the Commander-In-Chief, and Republicans and their nonsense is questioning the right of the president to bring a prisoner of war, an American citizen, a member of the military, they cannot understand why the president would bring him back home.

I find this mind-boggling!

“We saw an opportunity and we seized it. And I make no apologies for that,” Mr. Obama said at a press conference in Brussels.

“We have a basic principle: we do not leave anybody wearing the American uniform behind.”

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s disappearance and capture by the Taliban, why are the Republicans – in all their life-loving, troops-loving splendor – forgetting that this soldier was captured by the Taliban because he signed up and went to war for this country? Isn’t that fact alone worth saving his life and bringing him home to finally answer the questions surrounding his capture?

Just when I thought I couldn’t be any more surprised by these Republicans, they prove me wrong one more time. But the president is not surprised. In his statements in Brussels,  he said, “I’m never surprised by controversies that are whipped up in Washington. That’s par for the course.”

The President continued;

“I think it was important for people to understand that this is not some abstraction, this is not a political football. You have a couple of parents whose kid volunteered to fight in a distant land who they hadn’t seen in five years and they didn’t know if they would ever see again.

“I make absolutely no apologies for making sure that we get back a young man to his parents and that the American people understand that this is somebody’s child. And that we don’t condition whether or not we make the effort to try to get them back.”

Breaking – More Lane Closures Announced At George Washington Bridge

Attention Motorists Using the George Washington Bridge (GWB) During the Overnight Hours:

Beginning Monday, June 16, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will resume a steel deck improvement project on the upper level of the GWB that may cause significant overnight delays.

Three of four upper level bridge lanes will be closed in either the eastbound or westbound directionduring the hours below: 

 Monday to Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

 Friday night from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.Saturday morning

The work will also require several 10-15 minutes traffic holds during the hours above

NOTE: Closure hours will be adjusted to accommodate Yankee games and Meadowlands events.

Passenger vehicles should use the GWB lower level (which will be fully open to cash and E-ZPass) to minimize their delay OR consider seeking an alternate route. Trucks are required to use the upper level at all times. Highway message signs, 511 and traffic reports will advise motorists in advance which direction will be under construction (on any given night). Almost No One Saw This “Perfect” Video of Maya Angelou

In December of 1996, I was a programmer and producer of the Slamdance Film Festival, the punk alternative to Sundance. It was the third year of the festival, and we were still a very scrappy bunch. At the time all films were submitted on VHS tapes. We got over a thousand submissions that year. Each of us would take home a plastic mail bin full of tapes every night to watch, and as you can imagine, a large majority of the films submitted were not of acceptable quality, making my job the cinematic equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack. The tapes only had the titles of the films and maybe the director’s name. There was no other information to go on. When you picked up a tape from the bin you had no idea what you were getting.

Late one night, faced with a mountain of tapes and a looming deadline, I pull a tape out of my bin. It was a documentary called Perfect Moment. I inserted the tape in the VCR and pressed play. The movie began with the unmistakable, inimitable voice of Maya Angelou piercing the silence of my tiny one-bedroom apartment in Loz Feliz. She was reading not one of her own works but rather an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s short story, The Masque Of The Red Death, which considering the film’s introductory subject matter — the unrelenting reality of the AIDS crisis — was eerily fitting. As I watched the first five minutes of the film, all I could think was whoever directed this was a great artist — not only did this film need to be in the festival, but I had to become friends with him.

But this documentary had a larger scope, as it turned out. People from all walks of life were asked the same question: “If you were about to die, what moment would you remember most?” The film featured luminaries such as Phillip Glass, Edward Albee and Larry King along with priests, gang members, veterans and the homeless. I realized that I had discovered something special, singular and haunting. When the film ended I knew I had made a great discovery. I was ecstatic.

The next day I got in touch with the director, Nicholas Hondrogen, and told him how moved I was by his film. And I was not alone: in January of 1997, the film screened at Slamdance and won the Audience Award. By the end of the festival, Nick and I had become close friends. And over the next decade, we grew as close as two heterosexual men could be. He was at once like an older brother and father figure to me. But in 2007, our friendship ended tragically, nearly as fast as it had begun, when Nicholas died of mesothelioma cancer. I miss him every day, and there is always a small part of me that is empty because he is not here.

Perfect Moment was overlooked by potential distributors, meaning that it was never screened in theaters or on TV. When Maya Angelou died, I immediately thought about her powerful performance in this documentary that deals with truly timeless subject matter. Which, of course, begs the question: What moment will you remember when you look back on her iconic life?

Conservative radio host Stan Solomon had a conversation with Larry Pratt, the executive director of Gun Owners of America. After the two lambasted liberals for trying to do something to curb the gun deaths in this country, they turned their attention to the recent killings in California, where a 22 year old killed six people before taking his own life.

Solomon had a word of advise for the father of one of the victims. “The father of one of the girls who was killed blamed the NRA,” he said, “and my response is, ‘You stupid son of a bitch, what the hell is wrong with you? If you had taught your daughter how to have and use a weapon, she might still be alive.'”

Suspect Accused of Stabbing Two Kids in Brooklyn Elevator Arrested – Video

The suspect’s name is Daniel St. Hubert, a 27 year old man who was carrying a kitchen knife when he was arrested, an official said. In addition to stabbing and killing one of the two children in the elevator, Hubert is also a suspect in another stabbing death.
