Juan Williams – Obama Is Right – Benghazi is a “Political Football” For Fox – Video

I am beginning to gain some respect for Juan Williams.

Appearing on America’s Newsroom today, host Gregg Jarrett continued the usual Benghazi talking point, claiming that President Obama failed to call the attack an act of terror. Of course, we all know that’s not true. In fact, the very first statement the president made concerning Benghazi called the attack an “act of terror.” But as usual, that fact does not stop the lies from Fox.

Juan Williams responded, correctly saying that Benghazi is now being used as a “political football “At this point… that I think people are keeping alike to hector Hillary Clinton.”

Later on, Jarrett asked whether it was “undignified” and “embarrassing” of the president, during his pre-Super Bowl interview with Bill O’Reilly, to “blame the the Fox News Channel for the Benghazi problem” and “for all his woes.”

Williams’ response:

I didn’t think that he blamed us for all his woes, Greg. What he said is so often everything that happens we frame as an outright scandal and corruption, and stupidity and just make it as if he’s a bumbling clown. I think that’s fair of him to say.

Again! Comedian Jon Stewart Schools Seasoned “Journalists” on CBO Report

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s… JON STEWART! The Comedian who does a better job reporting actual news than the so-called seasoned “journalists!”

Let the debunking begin!

Okay. Okay. This one was easy. The debunking in this case had to do with a recent CBO report that Conservatives and even some on CNN took and run with. The report claimed that because of Obamacare or the ACA, workers will now be free to leave some jobs to pursue other things, because they will no longer feel the need to work to keep healthcare.

Simple, right? Wrong.

Conservatives and Republicans took this report to claim that “Obamacare was killing the American dream.” They even went on to manufacture false statistics claiming that millions of people would lose their jobs because of Obamacare forcing them out of the jobs market.

Doomsday!

Jon Stewart, the comedian, set things straight… again!

Missy Elliott Vows She’ll be back – “I just ain’t telling nobody when”

It was nine years ago that Missy Elliot ruled the music industry with her “The Cookbook” album. Now, almost a decade later, the artist is promising a comeback.

In a chat with Yahoo’s “The Yo Show,” Elliott addressed her lengthy hiatus from the spotlight — and admitted that fans will probably keep waiting.

“When I create something, it’s gotta be special, and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy,” said told show host Michael Yo via video chat.

“I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100% and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records.”

After 2005’s “The Cookbook,” the hitmaker seemingly vanished from the pop landscape, choosing to slide into the background,  producing and lending her voice to singles from Monica, Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia.

Elliott eventually began teasing her seventh album, “Block Party,” with a handful of singles throughout the late aughts — “Best, Best,” “Ching-a-Ling,” “Shake Your Pom Pom” — but no album ever materialized. Then, in late 2012, she dropped a pair of singles, “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” that reunited her with longtime collaborator Timbaland. But still, no release date for the album.

She assured fans that a comeback album is imminent. “I just ain’t telling nobody when,” she said.

Ethics Violation Charge on The 4th Most Important House Republican

She was tapped to deliver one of four confusing Republican responses to the president’s State Of The Union address, and now it seems that Cathy McMurray Rodgers is the perfect candidate for violating House Ethics.

The Office Of Congressional Ethics is recommending that the House Ethics Committee perform a full investigation into the matter. The news was first reported by Politico on Thursday.

McMorris Rodgers, the House’s No. 4 Republican, denied that she is guilty of any wrongdoing.

“As has become an unfortunate rite of passage for many Members of Congress, the OCE regularly refers matters to the House Ethics Committee for further review. Such reviews are virtually automatic, and as the Committee always points out, does not indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee,” McMorris Rodgers’ attorney, Elliot Berke of the McGuireWoods law firm said according to Politico.

A former McMorris Rodgers aide said that she mixed campaign funds and official congressional funds together for specific activities on her campaign for conference chairwoman against Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), something that isn’t allowed under House rules

Anti-Gay Activist Wants Russian-style Anti-Gay Laws in U.S

Strident anti-LGBT activist Peter LaBarbera said on Wednesday that the U.S. should adopt its own Russian-style “gay propaganda” law that would outlaw any positive representation of non-heterosexual relationships.

According to Right Wing Watch, LaBarbera was incensed at the inclusion of a family headed by a lesbian couple in the Disney Channel comedy series “Good Luck Charlie.”

“Look at the Disney show, they are promoting lesbianism to kids who don’t even know what sex is yet,” LaBarbera complained in a radio interview with the American Family Association’s Sandy Rios. “How are kids going to process that information of two moms?”

LaBarbera — dubbed “Porno Pete” by some LGBT activists because of his purportedly massive trove of gay pornography, which the Americans for the Truth About Homosexuality director says he keeps for “research” — said that the U.S. needs to copy Russia’s laws against positive portrayals of same-sex relationships.

These laws, he said, will keep Americans from “promoting homosexualism” and therefore are “acceptable and a good idea.”

What Corporate Freedom? Fox News Questions CVS’s ‘No Tobacco’ Decision

You know this was going to happen. Yesterday, CVS announced that it will no longer sell tobacco products. Now, CVS is a business, a Corporation. You’d think that its freedom to make whatever decision it sees fit for their brand would go over pretty smoothly with the corporate freedom lovers over at Fox News? But you’d be wrong again for harboring that thought.

On on Fox’s The Five, co-host Dana Perino tried to use the decision to attack President Obama’s signature health care law, saying, “I just wonder, is this President Obama now saying that corporations are allowed to have values and express them? Because if that’s the case, maybe corporations then don’t have to provide contraceptive care to their employees or their health plans. And the Supreme Court justices might want to think about that.”

Ah, for the record, Healthcare is the law. Providing cigarettes is not.

Texas Executed a Woman Yesterday

A 59-year-old-woman was executed by lethal injection Wednesday in Texas amid controversy over whether lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment.

Suzanne Basso is the 14th woman put to death since capital punishment resumed in 1976; nearly 1,400 men have been put to death. There are approximately 60 women currently on death row in the U.S

Basso was sentenced to death in 1998 for killing a mentally disabled man after prosecutors argued she lured the man to Texas from New Jersey with the promise of marriage. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals refused to stop her scheduled execution.

The state of Texas used a single drug rather than a three-drug cocktail that was used up until 2012, when export bans by drug manufacturers created massive shortages of the drugs. A report by The Guardian found that executions using the new method take on average twice as long as they did with the old method.
