The Sacramento Police officer tackled suspect Michael Kennedy, 19, as he fled a street in California, US.
Police say the teenager was involved in an incident on a train before he ran away, with officers setting up a perimeter in the area.
After an hour, Kennedy emerged from a garage on a bicycle before he was stopped in his tracks.
He was arrested on suspicion of fleeing from police and felony assault on an officer.
