You’re cruising down the road with your dashboard camera on when all of a sudden, out of nowhere comes a cow being pursued by a bull.
It’s apparently mating season and the boundaries of paved highway and the sound of zooming two thousand pounds vehicles, could not detour these animals in heat, as they choose your car to make their presence known.
A brief introduction between your car and the cow happens. The cow jumps up off the road and continues on her merry way with the bull still in pursuit.
The unplanned introduction damages your car. Your only consolation is a great YouTube video. As for the cow, a fantastic story to tell her calf.
The honchos at CBS tell TMZ … they were certainly OFFENDED by several racist and homophobic comments made by the current “Big Brother” houseguests … but hey, that’s live programming for ya.The houseguests have been under fire from what appears to be the ENTIRE INTERNET over the following comments:– GinaMarie referred to welfare as “n**ger insurance”
— Aaryn called gay contestant Andy a “queer.”
— Spencer referred to Andy as “Kermit the F**” … and praised Hitler as a gifted speaker.
CBS has released a statement to TMZ … saying, “We certainly find the statements made by several of the Houseguests on the live Internet feed to be offensive.”
However, The Eye points out that 24/7 live programming can sometimes reveal some bad things about people … saying, “At times, the Houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone.”
There have been rumors that Big Brother will be 86ing some of the offensive cast members — but it certainly doesn’t appear that’s gonna happen.
The NBA free agency period has only been open for two days now and while no serious star has moved yet, there is plenty of word of the stars realigning very soon. A report coming from Sam Amick of USA Today says that if Dwight Howard were to sign with the Houston Rockets, the team would then pursue adding Atlanta Hawks free agent Josh Smith as well.
The Houston Rockets want their own “Big 3” now
Let’s keep this paragraph based all upon “If ‘s“. If Dwight Howard were to sign with the Houston Rockets, he would be locked down for four years and earn around $88 million dollars. This in turn would create a very dynamic duo of up and coming superstar James Harden and All Star Dwight Howard. If that wasn’t enough, let’s say they land Josh Smith via a sign and trade, that’s the only way Smith can come over due to Houston’s financial situation. If this happens their starting line up would be James Harden, Patrick Beverley (Jeremy Lin will start if he’s not traded), Chandler Parsons, Josh Smith, and Dwight Howard; that right there is a line up you wouldn’t want to mess with. Or is it…?
Josh Smith loves to have the ball
Josh Smith loves his touches, loves to rack up a nice score sheet, and loves to shoot. James Harden loves to control the ball, loves to rack up a nice score card, and loves to shoot. Dwight Howard loves his touches, loves being the “go to guy”, and loves to be the number 1 option. See the problem yet? There aren’t enough basketballs in all of the NBA to satisfy all their selfish desires to be the number 1 guy. On top of their needs for more balls comes their immediate lack of depth at every position. Houston has already sent Carlos Delfino and Aaron Brooks packing and currently are offering Jeremy Lin and Omar Asik to any team for something in return. Why would Houston want to stack a heavy starting unit like that and leave a depleted bench, haven’t the 2012-2013 Los Angeles Lakers taught you anything?
Houston has it’s leader in James Harden. Why complicate it?
I am no Houston Rockets fan by any means but this idea of a Big 3 constructed with Dwight Howard, James Harden, and Josh Smith sounds horrible. Sure their talent level will be off the charts but I just cannot see them all meshing together. On top of that Houston shouldn’t rely on their starting core so heavily, we’ve seen that fail countless times before. If I were a Rockets fan, I’d be hoping Josh Smith takes his talents to Detroit rather than Houston.
1 large can stewed tomatoes, I use the ones with spices added
cracked black pepper to taste
garlic to taste
other seasonings as desired, I use some basil, red peppers, whatever looks good, this is one of those things that it rarely is exactly the same thing twice
hot water, 1-2 cups
When you start putting vegetables in your stock pot they take up quite a bit of room. A trick I learned from my sister is to chop and add as you go, start with cabbage and pour your hot water over that right away to help it start to cook down. Heat on medium-high heat until boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer until vegetables are as tender as you like. That’s it. Your whole house will smell amazing. I like to use it as a pre-dinner soup, it has no protein so obviously you can’t eat just this, it will fill you up so you have less room for other stuff!
Obesity rates in the United States remain unacceptably high, and the epidemic persists in affecting Blacks and Hispanics disproportionately.
Obesity is now classified as a disease. This was the final decision at the annual meeting of the American Medical Association (AMA), the organization that represents doctors nationwide.
Despite their own Council on Science and Public Health releasing a report earlier in the meeting which indicated that obesity was not a disease process, the AMA House of Delegates took the bold step to vote in opposition to this report.
Taking away the blame
For persons who struggle with their weight and the physicians that care for them, this designation of obesity as a disease is seen as a victory. Currently, there are very few resources available to those with obesity as this entity has been viewed as self-induced. The current dogma suggests that obesity can be cured with proper diet and nutrition.
Many persons believe that if you are eating the right foods in the proper portion sizes and following a dedicated exercise regimen, you will never become obese. However, science has taught us that while this may be the case for some persons, there is not a “one size fits all” approach to obesity.
Studies have shown that hormones in the body such as leptin and ghrelin play a role in the weight status of an individual. These hormones are just a few of the hormones that regulate energy balance in the human body. Leptin, a hormone that is primarily produced by fat, circulates in the bloodstream and communicates with the brain whether or not the body has had enough to eat.
For persons that have a higher leptin level, they will tend to eat more as their body does not sense that there is enough food or energy on board. The leptin level varies from person to person.
Some studies suggest that blacks are more likely to have a higher leptin level than whites. One such study indicated that leptin levels were much higher in black women, even after controlling for factors such as weight. The authors suggested that further research into leptin is needed to investigate racial differences in obesity-related diseases.
With their “big” accomplishments consisting of, umm… nothing and a constant war on women, Ezra Klein of Wonkblog wonders if this Congress is the laziest Congress ever!
Six months into its term, there’s little evidence that the 113th Congress will be the worst Congress ever. But they might be the laziest.
On Monday, simply by doing nothing, they allowed the interest rate on student loans to double, from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent. That might be permissible if they were busy with more important things, like inventing a cure for cancer that’s also a source of endless clean energy. But they’re not even working this week.
The 112th Congress passed 220 laws. That’s the fewest of any Congress since we began keeping track in 1948. But the 113th Congress is on track to pass even fewer laws than that. “Just 15 bills have become law this year, compared to 23 over the same period in 2011,” writes Dashiel Bennett at the Atlantic Wire. It’s the do-nothingest Congress ever!
That doesn’t make it the worst Congress ever. In fact, it doesn’t even make it the worst Congress lately. Looking back at my 14 reasons the 112th Congress is one of the worst congresses ever, the 113th still has a ways to go. For instance, they haven’t derailed the recovery and nearly crashed the global economy, as the 112th managed to do during the debt-ceiling shenanigans of 2011. And that list doesn’t even include sequestration, which the 112th created and didn’t manage to avert. The 113th Congress has inflicted a bit of damage by doing nothing — those student loans being a great example — but the 112th Congress almost blew up the world through gridlock.
Just over a week ago, the owner of a Canadian diner struck up a conversation with a customer, and eventually their talk turned to news about the owner’s daughter, who had just been diagnosed with cancer. A few days later, the same customer returned to the diner, again chatted with the owner, and then paid for his meal with a $10,000 check.
During their first meeting, Cliff Luther, the owner of the Saskatchewan diner, took notice of Bob Erb’s Legalize Marijuana pin. Luther asked about it and soon discovered that the appropriately-named Erb is a pot activist.
“He was telling me how he thinks legalizing marijuana is the way to go, you know, which was interesting,” Luther told the Ottawa Citizen. “One thing came to another, and he’s from B.C. and I was telling him how my 25-year-old daughter is out there right now and has just been diagnosed with cancer.”
For Erb, Luther’s story hit close to home; his own son died four years ago after a battle with cancer, at the age of 26. “He was emotional about it, just as any parent would be in that kind of situation,” Erb said, adding that Luther “was just looking to talk and learn about things from another perspective.”
Several days later, Erb, who won $25 million in the lottery last fall, returned to the diner and ordered a burger and fries. When he was finished eating, he asked Luther for a pen.
“He asked for a pen and said: ‘Here, you can just take the bill out of that,’” Luther said. “It was a check for $10,000. He just kind of said ‘If you need to get out there quickly, this will help you.’”

Paula Deen, while planning her brother’s wedding in 2007, was asked what look the wedding should have. She replied, “I want a true southern plantation-style wedding.” When asked what type of uniforms the servers should wear, Paula stated, “well what I would really like is a bunch of little n*ggers to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around;
Black staff had to use the back entrance to enter and leave restaurant;
Black staff could only use one bathroom;
Black staff couldn’t work the front of the restaurants;
Brother Bubba stated his wishes: “ I wish I could put all those n*ggers in the kitchen on a boat to Africa”;
Bubba asked a black driver and security guard “don’t you wish you could rub all the black off you and be like me? You just look dirty; I bet you wish you could.” The guy told Bubba he was fine as is;
Bubba on President Obama: they should send him to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, so he could n*gger-rig it;
He shook an employee (Black again) and said” F your civil rights…you work for me and my sister Paula Deen;
Paula’s son Jaime’s best friend managed the Lady & Sons restaurant. He threatened to fire all the ‘Monkeys’ in the kitchen. When Paula found out…she slapped him on the wrist and suggested that the employee visited Paula’s $13,000,000 mansion so he felt special and could be massaged.
I feel Paula Deen, her brother and anyone who treats people poorly should not be given a free pass. I wonder if Paula is truly sorry that she used the “N” word or that she was reported by someone who looks just like her. I appreciate the lady having the courage to report Paula Deen. It’s people like her and the videographer who leaked the 47% comments made by Mitt Romney who should be receiving the attention, not Paula Deen.
And his mother confirmed that Chris Kelly used cocaine the night before he died.
Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office in Atlanta said Monday that a toxicology screening showed the 34-year-old Kelly had a mixture of drugs in his system when he was pronounced dead on May 1. However, Honey said she did not know which specific drugs Kelly had used.
A police report says Kelly’s mother told investigators her son used cocaine and heroin the night before he died and had a history of drug abuse.
Kelly, known as “Mac Daddy,” performed alongside Chris Smith, known as “Daddy Mac,” in the early and mid-1990s. The duo was remembered for the song “Jump” from their 1992 debut album, “Totally Krossed Out.”
I used shredded cheese for this recipe because I melt the cheese in the broiler first so that the tomatoes and cilantro get covered in gooey cheese.
So take your two slices of bread and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Put some cheese on the bread, then add the cilantro and tomato (each on a different slice). Then top with more cheese.
Place the tray in the broiler just long enough for the cheese to melt, about 30 seconds or so. The key here is to melt the cheese but don’t wilt the cilantro.
Remove the tray from the boiler and smear on some guac.
Add 1/2 tablespoon of butter to an iron skillet and melt it over a medium-high heat. Then place the assembled sandwich in the skillet and brown on both sides, melting the cheese further.
Pay attention kids, ’cause today’s lesson — YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE.
TMZ has learned … Kevin Clash — who famously voiced Elmo — just scored a big victory in the child molestation cases filed against him, after a judge ruled that THREE accusers had waited too long to file their lawsuits.
According to the legal documents filed in federal court in New York and obtained by TMZ, the judge THREW OUT the lawsuits filed by Cecil Singleton, Kevin Kiadii and a 3rd unnamed accuser — after deciding their cases against Clash had been submitted after the statute of limitations had run out.
We broke the story … Singleton sued Clash back in 2012(when he was 23) claiming an adult Clash seduced him when he was 15 years old. Singleton says they had sexual intercourse years later … when Cecil was an adult.
In the documents, the judge explains that the statute of limitations to sue expired 3 years after the accusers turned 18 … therefore, they’re all too late.
Clash resigned from his job with Sesame Street after several men — including Singleton and Kiadii — came forward with allegations of inappropriate sexual relationships.
