Zimmerman: A Hero, You Ain’t!

George Zimmerman leaves court after the not-guilty verdict was read in Sanford, Fla,. on July 13.

Was it a coincidence that George Zimmerman was in the right place at the right time when a SUV, travelling past the home where he’s been holed up since his not guilty verdict, overturned and crashed less than a mile from where Zimmerman shot Martin. Or was it aplot devised by Zimmerman’s defense attorneys to mold the pudgy 29 y.o old self-appointed neighborhood watchman into some type of hero? In lieu of a federal investigation concerning whether Zimmerman violated Martin’s civil rights followed by a possible civi suit against him and the state of Florida, I would say stranger things have happened…like his acquittal for instance.

George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle, police said today.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of Dana and Mark Gerstle and their two children, who were trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla. at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route Route 46, police said. The crash site is less than a mile from where Zimmerman shot Martin.

By the time police arrived, two people – including Zimmerman – had already helped the family get out of the overturned car, the sheriff’s office said. No one was reported to be injured.

Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash and left after speaking with the deputy, police said.

It’s the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his controversial acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.

So Much Done. So Much More To Do.

If you follow the news every minute (used to be every day), you’d think that Obama’s presidency has been a grand failure. After all, he didn’t save the world, or make friends with the terrorists and turn them into democrats or make the economy zoom along at a 5% growth rate or clean the air or any number of things that he either promised to do or was expected to do when he took office in 2009.

Instead, he faced some of the most extreme opposition of any president and really only accomplished most of his agenda when he Democrats controlled both houses of Congress by filibuster-proof (in the Senate) majorities. I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind people that many other presidents faced concerted opposition including Theodore Roosevelt (from his own party), Woodrow Wilson, FDR (from the Supreme Court and Congress), JFK, LBJ, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. That any president can get things done under our constitution is a monumental accomplishment, but somehow we as a country manage to move forward.

So it is today. The Senate has thawed some over the past two months and recently avoided internal chaos with the approval of a good number of Obama appointments. Of course, the GOP is now facing buyers remorse on that compromise, but only because they got, well, nothing out of the deal. And it looks like the stars might not align on immigration reform because the House, always extreme on the right or left, will not consider a comprehensive bill. In fact, the House is so busy voting to repeal the health care law that there’s precious little time for anything else.

In this environment, it’s useful to remind everyone just how much Barack Obama has accomplished in just over a term. Those accomplishments are listed in this article, and should be required reading of anyone who says we’ve done nothing since 2008.

We’ve had financial and bank reform, health care reform, the saving of the automobile industry, and avoided a depression. But there’s more and any thinking American should know that. So take a look and understand that our government was built to act slowly. That works both for and against us, but it is how the framers constructed the system. We will have more landmark legislation over the next three and a half years. Some of it will be incomplete and need revision in a few years. Some of it will become part of the fabric of American life.

ObamaCare Politics Repeal

Republicans Threaten Government Shutdown to stop Obamacare

The Supreme Court called it constitutional, republicans have failed to repeal it on 39 different occasions. But this time, Republicans are prepared to shut down the government to stop people from getting health care.

ObamaCare is at the center of a rapidly escalating fight that threatens to shut the government down this fall.

Senate Republicans, including two members of the leadership, are coalescing around a proposal to block any government funding resolution that includes money for the implementation of the 2010 Affordable Care Act.

But such a move is a nonstarter for President Obama and congressional Democrats. Republicans have tried this maneuver in Obama’s first term, only to back off later to the chagrin of Tea Party leaders.

This time, GOP lawmakers are emboldened by problems plaguing the administration’s ObamaCare implementation. But that zeal could put Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in a tough spot. Both leaders have downplayed previous talk of shuttering the government.
In the House, 64 Republicans have signed onto a letter pressing Boehner not to bring any legislation funding ObamaCare to the floor.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), the leader of the Senate effort, predicts the vast majority of the Senate Republican Conference will back his plan, giving him enough votes to sustain a filibuster of a stopgap spending measure.

“This is the last stop before ObamaCare fully kicks in on Jan. 1 of next year for us to refuse to fund it,” Lee said Monday on “Fox and Friends.”

“If Republicans in both houses simply refuse to vote for any continuing resolution that contains further funding for further enforcement of ObamaCare, we can stop it. We can stop the individual mandate from going into effect,” he said.

“We have 64 of my colleagues on this letter and we’re asking the leadership not to bring anything to the floor that has funding for ObamaCare in it,” said Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), who is spearheading the House effort.

Jay Z, Usher, Kanye West, Rod Stewart will Boycott Florida

A number of top-level celebrities are reportedly following in Stevie Wonder’s footsteps and plan to boycott Florida in protest of the state’s “Stand Your Ground” laws. The list, which was first reported by AURN’s April Ryan and credited a “a source close to Wonder,” includes the likes of Madonna, Usher, Kanye West, Jay Z, Rihanna and Rod Stewart.

Wonder announced his intention to boycott any state with “Stand Your Ground” laws after George Zimmerman after a jury acquitted George Zimmerman in the 2012 killing of unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman did not invoke the “Stand Your Ground” defense in the trial, though it did figure into the police’s decision not to not arrest Zimmerman for weeks after the incident. Additionally, the “Stand Your Ground” defense appeared in instructions to jurors, and a juror cited the law in explaining the not-guilty verdict.

“I decided today that until the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again,” Wonder said at a concert in Quebec City. “As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world

BRAUN SUSPENDED

The Miami Biogenesis Clinic scandal has seemingly reached its peak. Major League Baseball and former NL MVP, Ryan Braun, have come to an agreement. Braun has admitted to using PEDs and has apologized for letting everyone down. The plea deal will be in effect immediately and he will serve a suspensions without pay for the remainder of the season, about 67 games. The agreement between the league and Bruan does a lot to boost the credibility of Anthony Bosch. Bosch was the head of the Miami clinic.

All of this information is bad news for Alex Rodriguez who is believed to be up next to face the music. CBS Sports writer, Jon Heyman, was the first to break the Bruan suspension and he believes that we will see the same situation if not worse for Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez is now faced with a decision. He can either let the league take their action and accept or fight it or he can use his injury to state that he is physically unfit to continue playing at the professional level and retire to ensure he collects every dime of his contract. It seems regardless of what he decides, we will know soon.

10 Best Things you can do for your Skin

1. Always try natural options, when it comes to nature, the original is better than the copy, since the biological structure of the skin is designed to recognize and utilize natural ingredients.
2. First of all begin by keeping it clean. Cleanse for approximately 2 minutes every night, twice a day.
3. Stop squeezing pimples. When people squeeze, it can rupture the duct that produces oil, causing trauma, infection and, eventually, scarring.
4. Begin from the inside out, avoid sugar intake as much as possible, since everything you put into your body is reflected in your skin.

5. Avoid sugar, but introduce chocolate, dark chocolate will arm your skin with additional flavonols, protective nutrients that researchers believe absorb UV light and increase blood flow to the skin, improving its appearance.
6. Get to know your skin type, this way you will ensure you’re using the correct cleanser and moisturizer.
7. Exfoliate once a week to remove old dead cell material. Use a “fractionated” oil to moisturize, this will mimic and replace your acid mantle, but those with sensitive skin may experience excessive skin irritation and should not exfoliate that often.
8. Have a good sleep; while you’re logging quality snooze time, havoc may be breaking out on your face. Hormonal surges during sleep cause your sebaceous glands to pump oil.
9. Also try to wash your sheets weekly, since when you sleep, lotions, hair gels, and oils sweat off of your body and onto your linens.
10. Take a chill pill; stress slows down the skin’s rejuvenation process. It can reduce cell renewal, destroy collagen fibers in the skin, and break down elastin, thus speeding up the aging process.

Kinky Sex Will Get You Stuck In Weird Places

Remember that Martin Lawrence scene where Gina got her head stuck in the headboard after some kinky sex? Well apparently this also happens in real life.

A kinky sex session went wrong after a woman got her head stuck in railings.

The 46-year-old was getting down with her lover in her Lipetsk, Russia, apartment’s stairwell when she became trapped.

Completely naked, she was forced to call cops for help — after her lousy partner decided the best course of action would be to run off.

Fire crews arrived and cut her free from the metal bars.

“In all my time working as a rescuer, I don’t recall any incident like this one,” emergency worker Alexei Dotsenko told Pronews48.ru.

Digital Spy reports that the pair started romping by the stairs after she told her man she wanted to “spice things up.”

John McCain Calls President Obama’s Speech on Race “Very Impressive”

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) called on lawmakers across the country, including in his home state of Arizona, to review the Stand Your Ground law that allowed George Zimmerman to walk free in the days after he killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and conceded that the country still has “a long way to go” towards achieving full equality for African Americans.

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, McCain described Stand Your Ground as “very controversial legislation” and rejected GOP claims that rolling it back could lead to more “gun control.” Earlier this week, Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama called for a review of the laws, which authorize the use of deadly force and the right to “stand your ground” in fear of death, bodily harm, and even a forcible felony.

The senator also praised the remarks Obama delivered about the Zimmerman case on Friday, calling them “very impressive” and pledging to meet with more African American and Hispanic groups in Arizona. “I need Americans to talk to their friends and neighbors, not just those on their block or in their circle of friends,” he said.
