Fox News Hires The Pizza Man Herman Cain

They got rid of one fool in Sarah Palin, then turn around and brought another fool in.

Fox News announced on Friday that it has signed Cain on as a contributor.

“Cain’s impressive resume makes him a valuable addition to the Fox News and Fox Business lineup. As a political expert with business savvy, he brings an important voice to the nation’s debates,” Bill Shine, Fox News Channel executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Cain, a former president and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, first ran for president in 2000, ran for U.S. Senate in Georgia in 2004, and then made a national splash in his 2012 campaign for president during which he became famous for relentlessly promoting his “9-9-9” tax plan.

And finally, to offset the anxiety I’ve caused myself  by looking at lots of pics of skinny, pretty girls walking down fashion runways in beautiful designer’s clothing, I’ve decided to try and have one Lean Cuisine every evening for dinner for the next 3 weeks to see if I can undo some of the damage I’ve caused during the last festive-filled couple of months. Last night I had the Cheese Ravioli With Chunky Tomato Sauce which was delisioso! The pasta had that great egg-y taste I like, the tomato sauce was seasoned just right with a pinch of basil to lift up the flavor. The cheese was creamy but not runny and just melted in your mouth. And a big enough portion to satisfy my HungryGirl appetite! All in all, on a scale from 1 to 5 on my Tasty LC Dinner Chart, I give it a 5!

Til 2morow pilgrims…

7-Year-Old Zora Ball Is the World’s Youngest Game Programmer

Pint-sized programming wizard Zora Ball is now the youngest person to create a full version of a mobile application video game. A first grader at Philadelphia’s Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School, she’s already more accomplished than everyone you know. Consequently, we should all go eat a tub of peanut butter and cry ourselves to sleep.

Ball built the app in the Bootstrap programming language, and unveiled her game at FATE’s “Bootstrap Expo” at the University of Pennsylvania.

Apparently some grumpy olds were suspicious that her older brother was really the mastermind behind the program, but Zora showed them. When asked to reconfigure the app on the spot, Ball showed naysayers what was up when she executed the request perfectly.

“We expect great things from Zora, as her older brother, Trace Ball, is a past STEM Scholar of the Year,” said Harambee Science Teacher Tariq Al-Nasir. No pressure, baby geniuses, but there’s an entire world for you to save. Please hurry.

[Update: Kelly A. Ohlert, the executive director of FATE, is doing an AMA on Reddit tonight from 9-10EST, answering questions about FATE, Bootstrap, Zora, education, tech, and more.]

Republicans Filibustered Hagel – Harry Reid Said It’s “Really Unfortunate.” Really Harry?

Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid was heard earlier today lamenting the fact that Republicans were filibustering Chuck Hagel‘s confirmation. It must have came as a surprise to Reid, especially after he shook hands with the Republican minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and accepted McConnell’s pledge that Senate Republicans will cut down on filibusters.

Consider this another broken republican promise Mr. Reid… as if you really expected the Republicans to be honorable to their words. Jeeze!

When it became clear to Reid that Hagel’s confirmation was being filibustered, Reid voiced his displeasure;

“It is tragic that they have decided to filibuster this qualified nominee. It is really unfortunate. “This isn’t high school getting ready for a football game, or some play being produced at a high school. In less than two hours, our country will be without a secretary of defense.”

Yes Reid, it is really unfortunate.

What’s unfortunate is the fact that you and the Senate Democrats had a chance to change the Filibuster rules and you chose not to. You saw the way the Republicans have used and abused the filibuster over the last 4 years and instead of putting a stop to it, you crumble to a handshake from a Republican and you believed what he told you. That Mr. Reid, is unfortunate and the confirmation of the President’s nominee to head the Department of Defense is suffering because somewhere along the line, you Mr. Reid, lost whatever backbone you may have had.

The confirmation is now on hold because after the final vote today, Democrats failed to muster the 60 votes needed to end the filibuster. And according to Harry Reid, our country is now without a secretary of defense.

Yes Reid, that is really unfortunate.

Republicans Lining Up Against Raising The Minimum Wage

Marsha Blackburn

You can add Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., to the list of Republicans who oppose an increase in the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $9.00 an hour.

In an interview on the Daily Rundown Thursday, Rep. Blackburn told Chuck Todd she was against the President’s proposal to up the minimum wage.

“I think that basically what the President is saying is ‘we want individuals to make more.’ I’m not for raising the minimum wage and I’ll tell you why, you’re going to exclude a lot of younger workers,” said Rep. Blackburn. “Why would you take a step that is going to make it difficult for employers to hire people?”

Blackburn’s announcement comes as President Obama continues to push a slew of politically popular initiatives this week with a stop at an Atlanta area pre-school to highlight his call for universal pre-k on Thursday, and a trip to Chicago—where gun control will likely be a major topic on Friday. The Tennessee Republican joins House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in speaking out against a minimum wage increase since the president’s announcement at the State of the Union on Tuesday.

Wayne LaPierre Urges Americans To “Buy More Guns Than Ever!”

If you are still wondering why Wayne LaPierre – the Executive Vice President of the NRA – is so anti gun regulation and you simply cannot figure out what his issues are, well let me help. Wayne LaPierre is not looking out for your best interest, he is looking out for the best interest of the gun industry and any sensible regulation will impede on the industry’s bottom line – Profits!

You still don’t get it, huh? You think I’m just making this up? Well let me step aside and allow Mr. LaPierre himself explain his true motive against any form of regulations.

In a rambling op ed on The Daily Caller, LaPierre points out the many situations where more guns is, in his view, apparent.

  • Latin American drug gangs have invaded every city of significant size in the United States. Phoenix is already one of the kidnapping capitals of the world, and though the states on the U.S./Mexico border may be the first places in the nation to suffer from cartel violence, by no means are they the last.
  • After Hurricane Sandy, we saw the hellish world that the gun prohibitionists see as their utopia. Looters ran wild in south Brooklyn. There was no food, water or electricity. And if you wanted to walk several miles to get supplies, you better get back before dark, or you might not get home at all.
  • Nobody knows if or when the fiscal collapse will come, but if the country is broke, there likely won’t be enough money to pay for police protection. And the American people know it.
  • Ominously, the border also remains open to agents of al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. Numerous intelligence sources have confirmed that foreign terrorists have identified the southern U.S. border as their path of entry into the country. When the next terrorist attack comes, the Obama administration won’t accept responsibility. Instead, it will do what it does every time: blame a scapegoat and count on Obama’s “mainstream” media enablers to go along.

He concludes with this bit of information – the real reason for his very existence!

We will not surrender. We will not appease. We will buy more guns than ever. We will use them for sport and lawful self-defense more than ever. We will grow the NRA more than ever. And we will be prouder than ever to be freedom-loving NRA patriots. And with your help, we will ensure that the Second Amendment remains America’s First Freedom.

Paralympic Gold Medalist To Be Charged With Murder

South African police on Thursday said they would charge Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius with murder after his girlfriend was shot and killed at his home earlier Thursday morning.

The circumstances of the incident are still unclear but police in South Africa said they would oppose bail when the Paralympic gold medalist appears in court Friday. The hearing was scheduled for Thursday afternoon but was delayed to give forensics investigators time to do their work, the Associated Press reported.

Police in South Africa do not name suspects in crimes until they have appeared in court but police spokesperson Brigadier Denise Beukes said that Pistorius was at his home after the death of the victim and that “there is no other suspect involved,” The Associated Press reported.

Britain’s Sky News first named the woman as Reeva Steenkamp, a model and recent contestant onTropika Island of Treasure 5, a South African reality TV show. A talent agent for Steenkamp said she was the victim. However, police have yet to confirm the woman’s relationship with the Olympic and Paralympic athlete.

Is it wrong to love my computer?  Well, I do, and its not a confession that I make easily.

There’s been much doubt cast as to whether a relationship between man and computer can be a healthy one. Look what happened in the Matrix”.
But while I can go on record that My Computer has shown a lot more love and compassion for me than most guys I’ve dated, its not the only reason I’ve become enamored by it. After all, who gets turned on by you with just one touch? Who can take you to fantastic places all around, money’s no object?  Who opens up to you and tells you everything you need to know about themselves?  Huh?  Who, when they’ve caught a virus, does their best not to infect you, working quietly, diligently in the background; no fussin, no groanin, no cryin’, all to make themselves well enough again to come back to you?  Who can show you and tell you things you’ve never seen or heard before? Who does that!?
Hey, If loving my PC is wrong, then I don’t wanna be right!
Maybe I should think again about getting that dog?…

Showing how ineffective an embargo can sometimes be, this Tuesday, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, just in time for an upcoming 30th birthday, completed a 3rd round of nuke testing in his state.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said Washington and its allies intends to “augment the sanctions regime” already in place due to North Korea’s past non-compliance to shut it down.
North Korea is already one of the most heavily sanctioned states in the world with barely any economic links to to block resulting in much impoverishment there.
The test were reportedly in defiance to US sanctions already in place for N.  Korea’s nuclear testing stems back to 2006 and 2009 when Jong-un’s  ubber-militaristic little Big Daddy, Kim Jong-il vowed to create  a nuclear missile warhead to take out the United States. Maybe if President Obama sits down and has a chat with this guy maybe he’d chill. Barack has a way of soothing ruffled feathers. ♦
You might have heard the case of the  family in Maryland who are suing the  Monster Energy Drink  for the wrongful death of their 14-year-old daughter who died after drinking two cans of the drink within a 24-hour period. They are claiming the caffeine in the product contributed to her death.
A Mayo Clinic study found that two 24-ounce cans of Monster Energy Drink contain 480 milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of five eight-ounce cups of coffee. Eeeoow!!!

A Monster company spokesman says:

“As a company, we vehemently deny that drinking two cans of Monster Energy by itself can cause a death from caffeine toxicity. Two 16-ounce cans of Monster Energy Drinks contain less or a similar amount of caffeine than one 16-ounce cup of filtered coffee from the leading coffee house.”

YES IT CAN!,  if your company markets the beverage to a 14 y.o. girl as a soft drink. And that girl had never even drunk a cup of coffee in her young life. The company’s shares plunged $7.59 (14.23 percent) to $46.12 after the case was publicized. ♦

A California couple says fugitive ex-police officer Christopher Dorner tied them up in their mountain condominium and stole their car before the firefight that led to his presumed death.

Karen and Jim Reynolds said at a news conference Wednesday that they came upon Dorner when they entered the condo in Big Bear, Calif. Tuesday, and believe he’d been there as early as Friday.

They say Dorner had a gun but said he wouldn’t hurt them. Karen said, “He talked to us. Tried to calm us down. And saying very frequently he would not kill us.” “He was very calm and very methodical,”  — ABC News

What’s rubbing me the wrong way about this case…

  •  “Terrified and shaken up after a harrowing experience”, would not be the phrase I’d used to describe the couple’s demeanor. More like “jovial” I think.
  •  Were these two jokers living in a cave? Did they not hear about a manhunt in their area for a “mass-murdering ex-marine officer” in their midst. Was their tv on the blink, internet down, cell phones roaming, what!?
  •  How in the world did two senior citizens, zip tied, gagged with pillowcases shoved ontop their heads, manage to free themselves to make that all important 911 call?

There’s more, but I’m gonna hafta pick my battles. This case is closed now with Dorner’s apparent death-by-fire…

Or is it? ♦

Fox News Employees Laughed At 102 Year Old Waiting Hours To Vote

On Fox News Radio’s Kilmeade & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade and Fox’s Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer laughed off the difficulties 102-year-old Desiline Victor endured in order to vote in the 2012 election.

Victor, who was invited to the State of the Union address and whom President Obama applauded for enduring a long wait to vote, had to make two trips to the polls and wait in line for over three hours before she was able to cast her ballot.

Discussing Victor, MacCallum wondered, “What’s the big deal?” and said, “This is such a non-issue. Ridiculous.” Hemmer added that at the State of the Union, “They held her up as a victim. What was she a victim of?”

Another Fugitive On The Run In Grapevine Texas

Grapevine police say they have few leads as to the whereabouts of an armed and dangerous Miami felon who seriously injured an officer as he escaped custody on Monday night.

Alberto Morales, 41, escaped from custody after stabbing a Miami-Dade detective with a piece of broken eyeglasses Monday night in the parking lot of a Grapevine Walmart. He was in the midst of being transported from Miami, Fla. to Las Vegas, Nev. to face a sexual assault charge.

Two detectives accompanied Morales on a commercial flight to Nevada on Monday, which started in Miami but had a layover in Houston. Before landing in Texas, Morales slammed his head against a seat and was not allowed back on the flight once they landed in Houston.

The two detectives rented an SUV to finish the trip. In Grapevine on the way to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to meet a third detective, they stopped at a Walmart. While one of his minders was using the restroom, Morales broke a pair of glasses and stabbed Miami-Dade Det. Jaime Pardinas and fled into the city around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

“I’ve been stabbed in the neck,” Pardinas said in a call to 911.

Despite his serious injuries, he was able to describe the suspect and told the dispatcher Morales is schizophrenic. The other detective returned to the vehicle and took over the 911 call, saying Pardinas was stabbed in the neck and back.

The detective said Morales did not take Pardinas’ gun and fled the scene on foot.
