Plane Crashes on Runway at San Francisco International Airport

Asiana Airlines Flight 214 from Incheon International Airport near Seoul, South Korea crash-landed at San Francisco Airport (SFO) at about 2:30 p.m. EDT.

The San Francisco Fire Department has confirmed that two people have died and 73 to 103 are injured, according to Reuters.

291 passengers and 16 crew members were onboard.

KTVU reports that 10 people, eight adults and two children, are critically injured at San Francisco General Hospital. Many of the injuries are broken bones and/or burns.

The Aviation Herald reports that the Boeing 777 passenger plane impacted the edge separating the runway from the San Francisco Bay, causing the tail, gear, and engines to separate and the aircraft to bounce and spin before coming to a stop left of the runway.
