As disastrous as FEMA's response was in the aftermath of Katrina, is it really even plausible that volunteerism alone would have sufficed? Really, Ron Paul? Placing "fiscal responsibility" over human life and suffering is not only non-Christian but goes against the very oath he took to be a physician. It's the very same as an emergency room turning away the obviously injured because of a lack of health care insurance.
