When Donald Trump stood in front of an audience and proclaimed, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone, and not lose a vote,” he was talking about people like this Chicago woman!
I guess we can say Mike Pence is a politician. That would account for the masterful way he managed to completely avoid answering a straightforward question today from George Stephanopoulos. All George wanted was a yes or no answer and for 11 minutes, Indiana Governor Mike Pence talked and played mary go round until Mr Stephanopoulos had no choice but to end the segment.
What was the question Mike Pence failed to give a yes or no answer to? Whether the new law the Republican signed would allow for discrimination against gays. “It’s a simple yes or no question,” Stephanopoulos said, but of course, nothing is simple with a Republican.
He was talking about a gay teacher who was fired by her Catholic employer
after her sexual orientation was revealed. Pastor Fischer, head if the AFA – The American Family Association – said that “we should reclaim the word discrimination.”
“The school discriminated against this teacher, yes they absolutely did and they should have. They were absolutely right to do it…. It is right to discriminate against people who engage in aberrant sexual behavior, we should discriminate against people like that.”
Fischer went on to suggest that someone’s sexual preference should be equated to shoplifters, and stated that we discriminate against shoplifters, so its okay to discriminate against gays.
The Republican candidate for President, Ron Paul, just confirmed what we already knew – that he is against the 1964 Civil Rights law that outlawed different forms of discrimination against blacks and women.
The Republican/Libertarian appeared on the show Hardball with Chris Mathews and made his feelings against The Act known. His son Rand Paul, stated the same sentiments against the Civil Rights Act when he successfully ran for Senate in 2010.
