Chicago Traders Throw McDonalds Applications At Occupiers

And you thought the traders in Chicago couldn’t stoop any lower. You thought that after placing a huge sign in their office windows saying, “we are the 1%,” these heartless parasites wouldn’t be able to offend the 99%, the Chicago Occupiers protesting outside their building any worse.

Well think again!

In yet another example of the insensitivity of the rich towards the middle class, Chicago Traders once again went to their windows and threw McDonalds’ applications down to the Occupy Chicago protesters below.

The actions of the Traders caused Occupy Chicago to tweet; “Real class acts. This week, it’s McDonald’s job applications they litter from the windows. Soulless place.”

These same traders belong to a financial industry that, through greed and market manipulation, contributed to the present economic crisis. And thanks to the American taxpayers, bailouts were allocated to traders with the hopes that a strong financial sector will eventually amount to a strong middle class, something Republicans call trickle-down economics.

This America, is what the Republicans mean when they say “Trickle-Down Economics.”

I'm just tired of the lies and nonsense coming from the GOP, so this is my little contribution to combat the nonsense!

  1. Ted Hurley What's your degree in bud? where did yo go to college? Are you an insufferable asshole? Do you carry about yourself a false sense of entitlement that requires you to refuse to do things you believe are bellow you? Are you better than a McDonalds employee?
As far as America being the most inequitable nation in the world, well that's just bullshit. the bottom 5% of Americans are as a whole richer than the Top 5% of Indians. http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/31/the-haves-and-the-have-nots/ < You should enjoy seeing what real social inequity looks like, most notably in the socialist societies your movement is trying to inspire.
The other problem with your argument is you claim I'm pointing to outliers, but the fact is, that is what this movement is made up of, people who don't contribute to society in any way, thus enabling them to sit around in some park and bitch. they are not the 99%, they are glorified hobos. I am the 99%, and I'm perfectly happy.

  2. Ted Hurley To answer your questions 1: Have I ever worked at a franchised restaurant? No, I worked my way up retail to corporate management before I started with Google. 2: No, I have never worked in a factory, because, due to American labor unions, it is far more cost efficient for manufacturing to be located out of the US, thus making the American factory nearly extinct. 3: Yes, I was without health insurance for two years while in college. Unfortunately health insurance has literally nothing to do with this.

As far as what you can see in my profile picture, I'm pretty sure that if you called any one of the much more (than myself) die hard conservative southern good ole boys in that picture, hipsters, You would become the victim of a hunting accident. So, I'd avoid that. Perhaps you don't know what a hipster is, but the guys in camo hats with cowboy boots and Carhartt head to toe, we call them rednecks.

Your profile picture is full of people that I would characterize as hipsters.
The appearance of the protesters does not give the people, who helped create the most prolonged recession in the history of the USA, an excuse to taunt the people protesting their greed and obscene influence on politics.
You speak of your employment as though your work ethic were a divine gift. Have you ever worked at a franchise restaurant? Have you ever worked in a factory? Have you Have you ever been without health insurance? You're insulting people you've never met.
    Let them eat ramen?

  4. Daniel 'Captain' Clements No, just no.
They are floundering in the most inequitable industrialized nation in the world. They are pissed that most of the growth that they are breaking their back to produce is being directed to an incredibly small portion of the population. I am pissed because in this environment the political discussion has nothing to do with this issue and is instead about whether or not further devalue the few insufficient social safety nets that we have, along with education and retirement funds. All this to avoid regulating and taxing the most powerful people in the world. Many of whom wouldn't even mind being taxed more.

You can't point to an outlier and expect everyone else to have the same experience. This is what you've done an its just incredibly stupid.

"I was told to go to college or work at mcdonalds now i've graduate and they call me lazy and entitled when I refuse to work at mcdonalds"

  5. I think it's actually a sign of how laughable they think the whole movement is. But as we all know, (Do we?) Every prank and act of mockery is made out of desperation and is a final plea for mercy. Keep standing in that park guys, they will want to make less money in no time, And you should also keep being super vague, that way they know you have absolutely no clue what you are doing! (Adds a sense of danger!)

  6. I said they _think_ they have an "Evolved social conscience" and I was positively dripping sarcasm. (More like an unearned sense of self importance.) (The vaguely leftist hipster curse I'm afraid) Further, if I lost my job, I would get another. It's happened before, it will probably happen again.
To clarify for you, since it does not seem you are good with sarcasm, I don't think the traders were insinuating that everyone at the "Gathering of Hobos" should actually try and get a job at McDonalds, I'm pretty sure they were making fun of the "occupy someplace besides their parents basement crowd." Honestly I have looked at hundreds of pictures and without fail in every picture at lest 75% are sporting some kind of haircut, facial hair, piercing, or tattoo that would make them virtually un-hireable in any non trade job. I mean, they are signing their own fate.
And finally, I'm not really sure why anyone would think I'm a deadbeat, unless the criteria for that has changed lately? You probably think that because I work for a living and don't spend my time camping in public parks bitching about literally, everything. You see, it's hard for me to be as proactive about my situation as someone who decided to move into a park (see: vagabond, drifter, Hobo) And impose myself at the cost of people who actually work hard, Because, I have to be at work in the morning, and I need to sleep at night so I'm ready to work the next morning. Redundant I know, Maybe I will go occupy France in 25 years, call it uhhhmmm… retirement.

It is short sided of traders as ten days to a week before they dropped McDonald's aps at protesters the corporation announced that it was increasing customer prices & laying off employees. Typical Corp Amerika.

  8. Clearly the desperation mounts! If they must be feeling the pressure or they would not feel the need to respond.

  9. Daniel, you could be out of job tomorrow even with your hard work and college degree. I wouldn't berate people as being "dead beats" without walking in their shoes, there's probably someone who thinks that of you. At least you do admit that they have evolved social conscience, better accolades than anyone can give to the greedy banks, traders. I'd like to see all of them looking for a job at McDonalds.

  10. Daniel, my husband works in construction, yes Union. No work in California. NONE. You have a lot of nerve to assume everyone else is lazy. A-hole.

  11. Ezra Grant No, I have been tricked into getting a college degree that provides me with a well paying job and working hard to make sure that I keep it. The problem with the occupy movements is that the people think that if they do the bare minimum that they should be rewarded generously, they think that because they have some kind of "Evolved social conscience" That they are the only hope for progress. The fact of the matter is, They are floundering in the richest society in the world and their laziness, poor decision making, and blind consumerism are the reasons they are unable to move up.
