Christine O’Donnell just came out with her first political ad, and in an attempt to separate herself from statements she made years ago, in which she went on Bill Mahers “Politically Incorrect” show and stated that she “dabbled in witchcraft,” she started out the Ad by saying she “is not a witch.”
But that’s expected.
Christine O’Donnell is a professional politician and being the GOP anointed one to run for the Delaware congressional seat is the furthest point her politics have taken her so far. So it was obvious that she would come out and try to set the record straight on an issue that has been haunting her since it was made public a few weeks ago that she experimented with witchcraft.
But what’s troubling about the ad is not her denial about being a witch. It’s the visual of the ad itself.
In it, Christine O’Donnell is seen dressed in a black dress, her hair conspicuously falls firmly down on both side. Her face seemed to lack enough blood flow to give it an acceptable color, so it comes off as lifeless and dull, almost looking as someone who’s been to the dark side a few times too many.
The background of her commercial too went against the verbal message Christine was trying to express – a totally black background, with a strange blue-ish illumination making even stranger patterns to the weird instrumental playing as she spoke.
Her full message was that she is “not a witch, she is you,” you, as in me!
Ah, no Christina, you are not me. Your verbal message may fool some in Delaware, but your total message, especially in this ad speaks volume.
I am not a witch Christina, so no, you are not me!
