Pastor Stephen Broden, a preacher at a church in South Dallas, is a nut-job Republican Teaparty candidate for Texas 30th Congressional District. Pastor Broden is advocating a violent overthrow of the government if the elections do not produce a change in leadership he approves of.

In the interview, Brad Watson, political reporter for WFAA-TV (Channel 8), asked Preacher Broden to explain his previous comment at a teaparty event, in which he described the government as “tyrannical.” Pastor Broden then replied, “We have a constitutional remedy, and the Framers say if that don’t work, revolution.”

Mr. Watson then asked if by revolution he means a violent overthrow of the government, to which the Pastor replied;

“If the government is not producing the results or has become destructive to the ends of our liberties, we have a right to get rid of that government and to get rid of it by any means necessary.”

The Preacher-man is not ruling out the violent overthrow of the government for this 2010 midterm election either. When asked by Mr. Watson if that was an option in November, the Pastor replied;

“The option is on the table. I don’t think that we should remove anything from the table as it relates to our liberties and our freedoms.”

Pastor Broden is just another one of this year’s crazy Republican Teaparty candidate running for Congress. The usual suspects in Sharron Angle, Rand Paul, Meg Whitman, Christine O’Donnell and Joe Miller are just the ones leading the pack. But given time, the herd eventually makes their voices known. And the voice of Pastor Stephen Broden is one advising the overthrow of the United States Government, regardless of what the Law says about it.

    The point of the article is to report what Mr Broden said, which is, a violence against the government is on the table. The video or this statement was posted to illustrate this point.

    If you think the article is misrepresents Mr Broden’s postion, then please show me where. I’ll be more than happy to look at your facts and include them in the article.

    In your face with the truth? You DO realize the full interview was released and showed the comments being taking out of context and The clear bias of the so called “reporter” when he repeatedly asked Broden the same question.It’s ridiculous. Report all the crap you want on conservatives… but at least make sure it’s actually the truth… if for no other reason than for the sake of the website’s name.
