G.O.P Blames Conway and Media for Head Stomping Incident

To quote @dufus, one of the responders to a tweet I made on Twitter regarding the Rand Paul male supporters who attacked a female MoveOn member, “That poor Rand Paul supporter was just defending his foot with that woman’s head.”

The Blame Game

Well, that’s one way to look at it, but the way the Republicans have decided to defend this hateful and absolutely reprehensible act is – believe it or not – to blame Rand Paul’s Democratic opponent, Jack Conway and the Media.

On The Ed Show, Republican strategist John Freehery was asked to respond to the video of Lauren Valle getting her head crushed into the sidewalk by a Rand Paul supporter. Instead of stepping up and denouncing the actions completely, the Republican strategist choose to look at the unfortunate assult on Lauren through a political prism. He blamed Jack Conway, saying;

Rand Paul is not to blame for this though, I mean, he was going into the debate. And the person who has really inflamed the debate the most, inflamed the whole election down there is Jack Conway with his despicable ad questioning Rand Paul’s Christianity.”

Now the problem that we have here, is that this cable world we live in, we aren’t really addressing issues that matter to the country….”

Mr. Conway have defended the ad on numerous occasions as one that questions Paul’s actions, not his religion.

The “head stomper,” a man (and I use that word loosely) by the name of Tim Proffitt came forward to AP and offered a non apology-apology, saying;

“I’m sorry that it came to that, and I apoloize if it appeared overly forceful, but I was concerned about Rand’s safety.”

A criminal summons was issued to Mr. Proffitt. He is to appear in court, where a judge will decide if charges should be filed.
