On Wednesday, Politico reported on findings it had on the RNC’s fund-raising practices. Among the many items found in the Power point presentation made by the RNC, is a section called, “Putting the fun back in FUNdraising.”

RNC Chairman, Michael Steele
In this section of the power point presentation, the Republican National Committee listed the types of people who give to their cause, and what these donors should be called.
According to this RNC document, small donors are in a class called Visceral Giving.
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, Visceral means not intellectual, instinctive, unreasoning, dealing with crude or elemental emotions. So the RNC thinks it’s small donors are stupid people who can’t use their brains to reason, but think on a primitive level. They’re also instinctive, they don’t think things through. This is what the RNC is saying about small donors to their cause.
RNC’s document also states, that the way to keep these small donors giving, is to keep them scared! Do this by preaching to them:
- Fear
- Extreme negative feelings towards existing administration issue/circumstantially oriented
- Reactionary
According to the Examiner – Characterizing Barack Obama as the Joker, Nancy Pelosi as Cruella De Vil, and Harry Reid as Scooby Doo, the PowerPoint document reveals RNC’s plan to raise funds through appeals to fear and reactionary sentiments.
The sad fact is that many would see this document, and still think that the RNC is genuinely looking out for their best interest. See the RNC Powerpoint Document Here.
