I thought we had two major political parties, Democratic and Republican. And the main reason for these two parties is to bring another view on policies and ways to carry out these policies.
However, if you listen to the Republicans over the last few months, you’re left wondering why there seems to be a love fest and why they are so concerned about Democrats and their outcome in the fall elections.
Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, on just about all his interviews these days keep warning Democrats, that if this Health Care bill passes, they’re going to lose seats in the election.
Mr. McConnell wants all Democratic senators to know that he cares what happened to them. He wants these Democrats to know that they’re not seeing the long-term disadvantages of their decisions if they vote yes on the bill.
Could it be that Mitch McConnell is a secret Democrat? That deep down, he wants these Democratic senators to do well and beat the Republican senators in the upcoming elections? Should Democrats be looking to Mr McConnell and the rest of his Republican buddies for political advise? Are we to believe that Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republicans are genuine in their feelings towards the Democratic Senators?
If these Health Care Reform bills are so bad, then Republicans are sure to wipe the floor with Democrats in the fall, and quite frankly, the rest of the elections in the future. If Americans don’t want reform, and want to stick with the status quo, then Republicans should be sitting back counting their gains in the fall.
The only reason these Republicans want Democratic senators to vote no on passing Health Reform, is not because they’re looking out for these senators, but because they know that Americans are tired of being dropped from their plans when they’re sick. They know that Americans need insurance, regardless of pre-existing conditions. Republicans know that doing nothing will not stop the rising cost of Insurance to our economy.
Republicans know these bills fix these problems, and their fear is, that once passed, Americans will see the benefits of Health Reform. Mitch McConnell and his Republican friends want Democrats to lose the fall elections. And they know that if Reform passes, the elections it wouldn’t be a referendum on Democrats, but on Republicans for wanting to do nothing.
