“Believe it or not, we used to hustle on over the border for health care that we would receive in Whitehorse [Canada]. And I think now, isn’t that ironic?”
Believe it or not, (and if you don’t believe it, you would be wrong) but that was an exact quote from Sarah Palin, speaking in Alberta Canada on Saturday.
In her first trip to Canada since quitting halfway through her governorship in Alaska, Mrs Palin let the cat out of the bag, essentially praising a system she criticize back in the USA. Socialized Healthcare.
Back in November 2009, on one of her book tours for Going Rogue, Sarah Palin was asked a question by a Canadian conservative comedian. Mary Walsh, the co-creator and star of This Hour Has 22 Minutes — a nightly news parody show in the same vein as The Daily Show, caught up with Sarah Palin and asked;
“I just wanted to ask you if you have any words of encouragement for Canadian conservatives who have worked so hard to try to diminish the kind of socialized medicine we have up there.”
Mrs Palin answered;
“Keep the faith because common sense conservatism can be plugged in there in Canada too. In fact, Canada needs to reform its health care system and let the private sector take over some of what the government has absorbed.”
So in America, speaking to the Teaparty and those who follows and believe every word out of her mouth, Sarah Palin denounce Canada’s Health Care system. Then travelling to Canada, speaking to those she denounced, Sarah Palin praises their socialized system.
I wonder what she says about the Teaparty faithful when they’re not listening…!
