The Constitution of The United States defines treason as:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. Treason is therefore described as going to war against the US, or aiding the enemies of The USA.

Dick Cheney
Back in December of 2009, The former Vice President, Dick Cheney went on Sean Hannity’s Show and said the following:
Cheney, responding to a question about Obama:
“I think he’s demonstrated pretty conclusively now during his first year in office that he’s more radical than that. That he’s farther outside the parameters, if you will, of what we’ve traditionally had in Democratic presidents in years past.”
As a nation, we are at war with Radical Terrorist organizations, whose main goal in life is to attack the US, and kill as many American citizens as they possibly can. To such an individual, hearing the president being described as a “radical”, and being “outside the parameters of traditionally democratic presidents”, is comforting. It gives them the idea, that attacking the US is now easier than before. It makes them think they have a friend in the White House. Giving Aid and Comfort to Terrorist, is treason.
On the eve of the administration’s decision on the Troop increase in Afghanistan, Cheney, in an interview said the following:
“Here’s a guy without much experience, who campaigned against much of what we put in place … and who now travels around the world apologizing,” Cheney said. “I think our adversaries — especially when that’s preceded by a deep bow … — see that as a sign of weakness.”

Giving the terrorist, and enemies of American the idea that The Commander In Chief is weak, is essentially telling then that we are ready for another attack. Aiding and comforting the enemies of The US is Treason.
On February 27th 2007, Dick Cheney, speaking to crew of the USS Kitty Hawk said, “Terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength; they are invited by the perception of weakness.”
So why then, would Dick Cheney, fresh from the White House, and with direct knowledge of all the threats America face on a regular basis, parade himself around television and radio, aiding and comforting terrorist organisations? Why would he be sending these messages to them, telling them that America is led by a radical, who, they will perceive as one who sympathise with their cause. Why would he tell them that the president is weak, and that America is ready for another attack?
It is one thing to claim ignorance when talking about what’s in the Constitution, and it’s definition of Treason. It is another thing, to willfully, for political or personal reason, commit treason against your country. Especially when you were the vice president.
Dick Cheney is fully aware of the Constitution, and what it states as grounds for treason. He knows that aiding and comforting the enemies of America is treason, yet, with this knowledge he continues.
